Ignore the want-to-be landscaping experts who said you did it wrong. If you like it then it’s done right.
Thank you for this, as a novice and on a tight budget, this looks amazing and simple to do.
I think you guys did a great job for the money that was spent on the project... Well done.
I have a brick patio that was put in professionally and I have to do upkeep with weeds and power cleaning also, so don't worry....it looks great!
Good 🎉job keep up the good work believe in yourself don’t live for others I’m going to follow your backyard idea
This looks amazing to me. I really like it. I remember y'all putting the fence up. Omg I can't believe it's been almost 2 years. You're channel is growing and changing. Anyway dropping in to see how you and your wife are doing. I love your content as normal and thank you so much for the update.
Personally I like the more natural look, especially in a backyard. Looks great! Hope it holding up for you.
Looks nice
Thank you for the update. Very useful information.
Nice patio, nice kids, nice family! Good jobs!
Thanks for the update!
Thanks for the update. Looks good.
I luv it! team work ! u both did what was
best for u two. its nice!!
This was a great response (to my questions on the other video). I agree with you. You gotta know what you are going to get with a project like this (or any project). I think regular maintenance can get me a good 2 years out of this (potentially), that could definitely get me to my paver patio after I save up. I think this is a win.
Love this! I'm doing same thing around my fence, ! Thxs 👍👍❣️
Even if you stripped the grass you would still eventually would get weeds or grass going through. What your doing you would still have to just maybe one more season later . Unless something new is out there I don't know about . So I maybe wrong . Good video thank you
That is normal to kill the weed annually it is not falling apart just roundup and a bit more peat gravel ants are going to alway pop up great job everything needs to be maintained
I think you guys did a fantasic job. Has the gravel become compacted and easier to walk on or is it still like walking on sand?
Still like sand.
If you were to consistently upkeep and maintain this, can it be a more long-term permanent patio?
After a year, it looks beautiful - even better now that perimeter rocks are set into earth.
How long do you expect it to hold up?
I'm not sure if it can be long term. I think it will depend on how the landscape fabric holds up. We wanted it for a few years. Maybe 3 but it's looking like we may try to maintain it for longer. We are hoping we can make it last for as long as we need it.
You really can’t go wrong with stones. And they seem to be managing the weeds very well. Getting professional landscaping done is expensive so this looks to be totally worth it. I’d rather save money and manage the upkeep which doesn’t seem too bad.
Hi where did you get the pea pebbles ? Great job by the way
Bought it from a local business that sells stones and gravel in bulk.
You can add a little concrete and mix it in sparingly to add years of life.
Good idea but we don't plan on having it for a long time so we need it to be easy to take out. Cement might make it more difficult.
Looks like to me the gravel will last at least 3 years
Maybe. It's two years old now and still looks good. We were only hoping to get around 4 years out of it.
