Sitting here at twenty past midnight with tears in my eyes...again. This song meant so much to me since I met my wife back in 2003. We both loved Dido and her amazing angelic voice. Now I just turned 39, got divorced 4 years ago and pretty much lost everything and everyone I once thought to grow old with, after suffering from a burnout depression that almost killed me. It's been hard to realize how privileged I really was back then, how fragile life can be at times. Well, still miss those times, she will always own a place in my heart and I wish her all the luck she can get. Rejoice and let Dido's voice sooth your soul!

The arrangement on this live version of the song is outstanding, imo. The subtle little changes that bring to the final climax and release on Dido's only voice and piano are delicious. Bass and drum kick sound perfect, as well as the whole mix (and panning). A joy to listen to!

i think most people havent really understood how powerful the lyrics are on this song. It's so true, many of us and people we know have been in such a deep relationships with someone and when its over you know nothing else and are so committed we literally want to just go down with the ship of love. Its so sad, but so true and quite common. All I can say is there will be another out there who truly deserves you and who is waiting for you. God Bless and never give up!

I just read an 900 page book about Vietnam vets through the words of all who went through it...the book was from the 80s it wasn't a gem and focused almost as much on the deserter as the warrior but the big take away for me was the women who married them...the way they explained the crazy love or lack thereof (and love making) had me twisting in my covers feet just running against each other

Garth Brooks has said one of the most amazing feelings in the world is when the audience is singing along with the song. The look on Dido's face around 4:54 says to me that she is surprised the pleased the audience is so enthusiastically singing along with her. I may be wrong in my analysis.
