- Germany's foreign minister Annalena Baerbock has held high level talks with her counterpart Qin Gang in Beijing. The two discussed China's tensions with Taiwain, Beijing's human rights record and the war in Ukraine. China - an ally of Russia - announced it will not supply weapons to Moscow. Baerbock said that no other country has more influence on Russia than China, and she called on Beijing to exert this influence on the Kremlin to bring the war in Ukraine to an end.

1: That promise was never made, there is no document or speech which contains it.

2: The former USSR colonies have every right join defensive alliances to protect themselves against their former colonialist masters, especially as Russian leaders immediately after the fall of the USSR started talking about taking land from their former colonies.
How would it play in any southeast Asian country if a former colonizer started to make territorial claims, wanting to decide foreign policy etc?
Now imagine that colonizer is much larger in terms of military and economic might. And that their war planes with bombs and paratroopers can be over a capital within two hours.

I am German and it pained me listening to some of the things she said during that conference. This woman is causing problems everywhere she's going and even though the German population is HIGHLY dissatisfied with her and her parties performance nothing is being done. Maybe the reason is as she said "I don't care what my voters say".
When elected officials don't want to represent interests of their voters, why are they elected? Why do Germans vote for people who are not going to care about them? It does not look like democracy at all.
Qin gang uses the Kant and Haekel, 2 famous German philosophers in his speech to hint at German fm that Germany has always been pragmatic since the past and deal with things in a logical way. But in recent times, it has changed and do things illogically, such as becoming a lackey or ignoring the nord stream terrorist act. It is quite uncommon.

Europe unanimously lied about wanting peace, while at the same time it was arming Ukraine and preparing for war. There is no more trust in Europe and this is absolutely logical. You can't tell China to talk to Russia of ending the war when it was the West that refuse to back away from geopolitical influence in Ukraine. It is no difference from Taiwan. The West want to influence it and force China into war....we all know it's the same drill. The word "influence" doesn't seem to stick with the West and that's where the problem lie. If for example, Ukraine and Taiwan remain neutral and have no part in the West, do you think there is war? No.
With China it will be the same as with Russia. The West will unanimously humiliate China with endless visits to Taiwan, more and more new arms deliveries and so on. The goal is to force the start of a military operation. And there are sanctions and God knows what else.

Europe being a follower of US only knows how to use pressure. Please tell the world in your own truthful words if they noticed any pressure to bring Saudi and Iran to resume their diplomatic relation. China insisted its position becasue it fully understands if peace is assumed by pressure then it will not last very long. Right from the very beginning, China already anticipated its role as a mediator. It already see that neither side would surrender to pressure. Being a mediator it must not let the parties feel that China is standing on any one side. China's role is to let both sides to see the pros and cons of the war and identify routes for both sides to benefit. Only immature negotiator would use pressure. I suspected when the European leaders tries to convince China to use pressure, they are not looking for peace. They just don't want China to successfully mediate between Russia and Ukraine. They have pressurized Ukraine not to go through peace negotiation with Russia anyway. Honestly, I do not understand why European leaders has that kind of mentality.
