Yes! I wish we could produce more local yarn. We used to produce our own linen and hemp as well, here in sweden. It would create more job opportunities as well. And be much better for the environment.
Yes so true! Imagine a future where we would produce linen and hemp fabrics and and lots of wonderful Swedish yarns all made in Sweden! Hopefully that will come true some day! I think it’s going in the right direction! 😊

Thanks for comparing the different unspun "yarns" that you've worked with. I've seen beautiful nutiden unspun all over instagram and podcasts, but it's so hard to get. They pre-sell to patreon supporters, and have closed off becoming a patreon (all levels sold out every time I check) so sales seem to function more as an exclusive club. I'll keep trying! I always love seeing your beautiful knits and sweet baby. Lovely podcast.

I love using them 💜 they make lovely light airy & warm garments that are very affordable to make 😊 I totally agree with you that the ribbing is not stretchy Thinking I will use a spun yarn for the rim of my next hat 😘
I love Nutiden, i use two strands and the knitted fabric has so much drape, just love the way it feels, yes cozy!

Very nice episode! I agree that hats made from unspun lack elasticity. Sometimes we want hats that don't crush our hair so much. I like the Inver Hat for that. But if I want a really warm hat, I think something that fits snuggly from plied yarn is best. My favorite attribute of unspun is the lightness and warmth. I have my whole family wearing sweaters I knit in Nutiden. t is like a warm hug!

What is the name of the beautiful green and white sweater you showed? I looked up all the sweaters you listed and it doesn’t seem to be any of those.
Hello thank you for this review. As a spinner it has got me thinking how a person might try to make their own unspun yarn from a fleece. I am wondering if the long wools would give more stability to prepare it. Its also making me think that sometimes spinners can put too much twist in their fibre and this is reassuring that some wools can naturally hold together without too much twist. Greetings from 🇨🇦

Dear Nina, thank you for choosing this kind of review. I have also started knitting with unspun two years ago and i really love the process and the finished fabric. Now i am a bit concerned with the pilling. I have knitted my Hässja 2021 in main color val and it does not stopp pilling, i fear that it could get holes. And with the color stilla last year i used one strand and one strand of alpaca lace yarn (not brushed) and it is the same and does not stopp pilling. What is your experience and do you have any tips? I know and can see from my other unspun stash that every color of yarn can behave differently.
I have experienced that the pilling is very different from colourway to colourway. I think the softer the yarn the more pilling. But I haven’t yet experienced that I get holes when depilling. My tulip sweater is more then 2 years old. I have depilled it a couple of times and it’s still very nice! So I think it really depends on the colourway, which sheep breed is used and so on. So that’s the downside to Nutiden. You never know exactly how the yarn will be from time to time. But that is also an aspect I like.

It’s the Krans cardigan by Maja Karlsson. Right now the pattern is unfortunately only available in her new book Koftor and it’s not translated in to English yet. But hopefully that will happen soon! 😊
