    *Honorable Mentions*
    - 5600/5700 GPUs are great for Ethash but don't perform too well in other algorithms.
    - Radeon VIIs have always been my favorite but hard to put them here due to how scarce they are and they don't perform that well in other algorithms
    - Vega cards are great for Ethash but don't perform well in other algorithms
    *Notes:*
    - Even though this is a top 5, nothing beats a good deal that ROIs fast. So if you find a good deal that isn't a top 5 then it might be worth considering.
    - I messed up the MH/Dollar - supposed to have a MH, not a dollar sign. The Higher the better - Fixed on the website.
    - RTX 2080TI hashrate was not accurate, updated thanks to someone in the comments!

      I have 6 RX Vega 64s and they all can hit 197 Mh/s on Ergo / Autolykos.
      That's heaps more profitable than Eth atm.
      Also they are half the price of a scalped 3060 with no hashrate limiter so no issues getting it to 50 Mh/s on Eth and almost double the Autolykos hashrate.
      Vega 56s can also get similar performance with a little more tinkering.
      They definitely should of been included in this list.

    If your in a rush, here is the short answer however, keep in mind that the MH/s here is using the ETH algo. see the full video to understand the rankings and why each card/gpu is priced on what it is. It's very useful and isn't too long to listen.

    @timothyblazer1749 Před 3 lety

    Literally $/MH and W/MH are the only requirements to look at.
    Also, not overclocking/undervolting and keeping the room COLD and the air flow very good will keep a GPU running near infinitely.
    I'm an old school Colo guy. There are heavily stressed machines I have that are 8 years old and ruining strong. The key is eliminate the heat more than you think you have to, keep the room at 50F/10C. Have high ceilings and high volume, low RPM air flow up into the ceiling. Add vents at the top of the ceiling, or setup serious heat exchangers and scavenge the heat to recharge your UPS.
    The only thing Thai could fail is the fans on the GPUs, so monitor those and turn them off if the fan comes down lower than 80%.
    Second thing is moisture. Make the air DRY.
    Third thing is power stability. Don't draw more than 80% on any circuit, run over sized cable, have 24 HR UPS systems that can balance power for you if the source starts getting even a little brown. In addition, get highly efficient PSUs, platinum or better. They are worth the money medium and long term. And wire them wirth over sized cabling.
    If you're crazy, and you know something about power supply electronics, use high voltage DC and DC/DC converters from a dedicated plant sized PDU.

I'm running around 1800+ delta on the VRAM and temps around 82-86 degree C. Will that high clock damage the GPU even tho temp is acceptable? My 6800 (non xt) has power consumption around 155-160w@60 mh. I measure from wall with only psu and the card connected. And I tried flash bios, it reduced to 142-150 on ETH, and I had stability issue after flashing. The reports on amd software, gpuz, and hwinfo are only 105-120w, which is way off from the power meter from the wall. It draws more power if doing kawpow. Doing bios flash could damage your card.

    If I use immersion cooling for my rig, what would be the lifespan for GPUs?

    • @ryanm7263
      @ryanm7263 Před 3 lety +1

      Generally speaking, if you keep your cards running within spec, they will last as long as any other card used for any other purpose. It's when people run their cards hot and at max power that life spans start to decrease.
      Immersion cooling is probably overkill. Each time you have to access your rig for whatever reason, you will have an unruly mess to contend with. If you power limit your GPUs and run them on an open air rack in a well ventilated room, you will get healthy temps without having to deal with an aquarium full of mineral oil.
