Man lars is so passionate towards the fans, idk why people says hes a douche.
He's awesome! He was so nice. He was present and you could tell he cared. Didn't feel like it was rushed or that he wanted to be somewhere else!
They all are so awesome with their fans!!! I hope to get a coveted meet and greet when 'Tallica come back to Auckland, NZ.
It's because many people are still butthurt over crapster.. The drummer from Mastodon said he was in his right by defending their music from illegal free download. To me those haters are no fans at all and are all just a bunch of meaningless douches.
***** Metallica did a small show recently and Lars was surprisingly good. More solid and dbass pedal action was more solid. Not too many fills and timing was good.
fuck the people no lars no metallica!! pure respect!!
I know it's not the popular opinion, but I was glad to hear a song from St. Anger live again. I understand why they don't, but I wish they did it a little more often.
This version is better than the album version, i wish they play it more often too ;)
live is awesome
I'm glad those songs are getting some votes, though. Hope fans take more advantage of voting for any song by voting for more obscurities. You'll hear the "greatest hits" at most shows anyway. Get Fixxxer up on there!
While I think vocally is wasn't as good as the album version (just cause it's live. Live vocals are often shaky), otherwise yeah, playing the St. Anger songs live fixes a lot of the problems people had with them. Pumped to maybe see more soon!
SOUNDS GREAT
wow Lars actually speaking his native language.. anyone else miss his little Danish flags he uset to have on his drums?
I do, and I miss his white drum kit with his 4 toms too.
I miss the whole white kit :/
I miss talented Lars.
I thought he was imitating this sims game dialogues
SigmaTV never existed.
It's really weird hearing St. Anger played without the trash can.
David Elford dude right
David Elford it sounds better
it will be hilarious if they will bring a trash can to Lars just for this song
Pipelinezmaniac yeah it does actually except the voice
At least it sounds better without it lol
Metallica playing St. Anger in 2014 is definitely a good sign. Good job.
I'm surprised they played it six times already this year
richard grossguth Still waiting them to play songs they completely ignore from ReLoad
They don't ignore them it's by request it's the fans
thefinalguitar2 Normal Metallica Concert: Same songs
Metallica By Request: Same songs
No difference.
Jor Jor 1986 i like all metallica songs including the mainstream ones like puppets but it would be nice to hear songs they dont play often
St. Anger sounds so nerfed without that distinctive snare. Say what you will about the St. Anger snare, but it gave the album a damn unique sound.
I agree. I found myself missing it. :P
St. Anger sounds perfectly. I love that shit. That's the point of this album.
Dude, Scenes From A Memory is really awesome.
Jorge Cab Hell yah it is! I can't say the same for Systematic Chaos though.... Sorry. :(
No prob, dude, hahaha. What about Train of Thought? lmL
It pains me to see them aging, but when they get on stage, get into to the groove, and get the adrenaline going.. You can't deny their energy is so satisfying, and encouraging. I love seeing them on stage, and getting really into it. It puts me in a metal state of mind \m/ 50 year olds that reinvented metal still jamming their gold. Priceless.
And now they have a bunch of new studio material, which means they are still finding the inspiration to be creative. That is impressive.
Here you can see one of the biggest anthems for thrash metal, one of the fastest, rawest and meanest song ever written by a band with an amazing drummer and an amazing guitar soloist...
And on the other hand there's Battery.
lol
hahaha XD
Gr8 b8 m8
hahahah I'm a metallica's superfan but that album is shit (st.anger) I reckon the only good song is st anger and maybe frantic hahah
SigmaTV lol
20:34 - 20:44 one of the greatest moments...these two young dudes started a band in 81and over 30 years later they're standing there talking about to destroy an audience...these guys are complete legends. We're lucky to still have them jamming and being able to witness it...truly great.
Damn St Anger live is epic !
Harambe i do like the st anger snare but it does sound better with this snare
Oh hello there
The older live version sounds even better, it sounds more aggressive
I really don't understand why Lars gets so much hate. Hes so awesome!
Snare
Napster
No bass
Load and Reload
And more...
@@leonardovelizaravena7654 wtf did you listen load and reload?
@@leonardovelizaravena7654 those are really shit reasons to hate guy.
Besides Lars was right about Napster thing anyway.
@@leonardovelizaravena7654 What are you talking about “load and reload” the hell does that have to do with the band and controversy. Just a change in sound, same with St Anger, that was just an experiment. The whole Napster shit is also completely bullshit and Lars was right. No bass is probably the only thing I feel is necessary to be mad about, though Lars and James were just having a rough time with Jason during that period
That was a hell of a scream at 30:04
it sounded fantastic
I love how during rehearsal, The 4 of them are just chatting. There isn't too many videos of that.
I really wish they would play St. Anger more. :(
Invincible yeah when I first heard the St. Anger album I didn't really like it but then I head the unnamed feeling and I fell in love with purify and shoot me again and then I decided to give the entire album another chance and I love it now! I think the songs are amazing if you give them a chance. :)
***** eh the songs alright. I prefer the unnamed feeling.
FixxxeR208 Yeah, I actually meant the whole album.
The Real Eric Mitchell And actually I don't mid if they play something like Until it Sleeps, Mama Said or Torn Within, in my opinion they are good songs, but if the whole crowd don't like them so they won't play them...
They are playing it on these days in Europe:)
Is it me or has Lars been playing a lot better in the past few months than in the past 20 years.
Its just you sort of
thesound606 might be getting back into cocaine again
Yeah I saw them live and I feel like he did really great on everything, even battery and bell and those seem really tough
I wish more bands would do these little behind the scenes videos. At least more on a regular basis like Metallica does. I'm looking at you Megadeth.
You can follow David Ellefson, he posts behind-the-scenes videos sometimes, but not nearly as often as Metallica (or the same quality).
GroteB Well, in the 90's, David recorded TONS (I'm talking literally HOURS) of backstage behind the scenes footage, you can find tons of it here on CZcams.
@@GroteB he shares other kind of videos too:D
Did you know that Lars Ulrich came to America to become a pro tennis player and had no intentions of becoming a drummer?
Being a drummer was always his dream even when he came to America
Hammer of Justice Crushes You OVERPOWER He never intended on following those dreams.
EJ Fields Oh I always thought he did
+EJ Fields Nope, he wanted to be a pro tennis player before, but he already wanted to pursue music when he came to America.
Raedo That's what I thought, but I'm not sure
I LOVE ST. ANGER. sounds so powerful live.
A Just Cause agree
Go Metallica!!! Play songs from all your albums, fuck what people say
Damn, James' vocals are really coming back. This performance was amazing.
I'm disappointed that they don't play the slow part to battery anymore
intergalactic24 Me too man, it’s my favourite part of that song
Ryan Thistle Lol same
And it's pretty damn easy
Its a four guitar part though, thats why they play the tapes at their shows now
Yeah, it's always a tape....but it's a good way to start the song. Works really well as an opener. Maybe also the first song in an encore as well.
St Anger sounds more melodic here. Good stuff papa
Extremely encouraging to see the band always have time for their fans with pictures and actually taking interest in each one of them...
James's voice improved a lot since 2004/05
Great to see lars speak danish :)
I love hearing Mastodon playing in the background during the meet and greet :D
It must be so awesome for the Danish fans to be able to converse with Lars in their native language!
SAINT FUCKIN ANGER!!!!
I WAITED FOR THIS SO FUCKING LONG!!!
This concert was at a former Danish State Prison. If Offcouse we voted St. Anger on the set list! :-)
St. Anger sounded absolutely amazing, but i kinda wanted the St. Anger snare.
Buttdischarge Agreed. The choruses also miss those very subtle dramatic strings on the studio version.
+Buttdischarge get a trash can xD i admit though i do like it
Lol a trash can. Haven't heard that yet.
Hahaha
+Steven Van Haren I thought I was the only one on earth who noticed those....
They should always open with Battery or Fight Fire With Fire.
Iron Hammer Something that ive noticed about Metallica is that all first songs of each album are killer starters, they all start low and then go really fast, Hit the Lights, Blackened, Battery, Fight fire with Fire, That was just Your Life, any of these should open each concert
+LightningRiderMGO
Hit the Lights
Fight fire with fire
Battery
Blackened
Enter Sandman
Ain't my bitch
Fuel
Frantic
That was just your life
Hardwired
They're all one of the best songs of the albums they opened. Except Frantic, I hate hate that song, the opener for St Anger should've been the title track or Some kind of monster.
LightningRiderMGO same goes for the titletrack of the new album
Or hit the lights
Even Frantic was that way
I grew up in California listening to and loving Metallica’s first four records, just like 99% of the Metallifans you meet. Always thought St. Anger was cool and the riffs were heavy but it was almost blasphemous to express that thought lol In 2015 I moved to Germany and met one of my closest friends, who happened to also be a big Metallica fan. BUT his first exposure to them was through St Anger. He LOVES that album. When I tried to show him some classics like Disposable Heroes, he said he didn’t care for them. Blew me away hearing someone say that and I doubt I’ll ever meet another soul who was introduced to Metallica through St Anger and only loves that album. Love you, dude!
James killin it with the vocals on Battery \m/
Pre show huddles are so intense.
They will never get old :,) Metallica for life
Interesting how James plays the opening riff to Battery much faster on stage than in the tuning room.
Ha, this is the first time I heard Lars speak Danish.
When?
Andrew Salazar at the beginning of the video
Kirk “why you playing battery?”
James “you don’t need to confuse me anymore” bro it’s only been 30 years
Still wished the fans went for the hidden gems; imagine seeing them play Attitude or Purify, or The House Jack Built and base it between the bands most popular to their most unknown tracks by most fans. It would've been amazing to see them play Where The Wild Things Are...
id love to see them play 2 X 4, Attitude, and My World
That was a treat, should be in the set list way more, u could tell they were gettin’ into it
Did anyone else noticed a familiar face back there waiting patiently ??♥️♥️♥️♥️ That's love & dedication
I love St. Anger. Period.
Holy shit the vocals on Battery. They sounded the best they have since the early 90's. Anyone else agree.
Mark iic plus 44 No, everything from 83-2000 is better than this by miles.
sadsadsa asadasd thats why I said since the 90"s.....
St Anger is such an awesome song to hear live. Really glad it is making a comeback, thanks to the great fans who voted for it!
As a huge Metallica fan I can admit that the past few years of Metallica has been rough.
But this video was fucking awesome. The performance was perfect.
Their performance in San Fran was fantastic, and with the album coming soon Metallica is looking to finally be back after the underrated death magnetic
sugaquaks Yeah, I thought DM was awesome!
Tanner Cruse You gotta watch live in Mexico city
it was a phenomenal concert
they have the best job in the world
It's cool hearing Lars speak Danish. What an odd language. I love the entire St. Anger album, which I know is heresy. Frantic is one of their masterpieces, as is "Unnamed Feeling"
The best part of this is hearing Mastodon play High Road in the background during the M&G
Lars is so down to earth and so cool to his fans. He has my biggests respect.
Lars did a good job on battery! He did the fills pretty well! He seems to be redeeming himself!
This version of St. Anger is just plain awesome
We can hear Mastodon behind during the Meet and Greet
Great to see Jame`s voice is doing great this year, Lars has been doing a lot of double. Can't wait to see them again!
That scream at 30:04 brings back 90`s voice...
st anger had the best solos
JAJAJAJAJA the mamaste la dvd
I love St. Anger... always.
I hate all the St. Anger hater.
They don't know St. Anger's point.
Maybe, they can't feel it in their lifetime.
That's it.
Snowy City its my favorite album of all time
What’s st. Angers point?
St. Anger
@@roderickvwenner6807 St. Anger is Metallica's Teenage Angst Album. Today, as an adult, i admit to cringe on some parts, and i admit that it was not Metallica's most elegant album in terms of songwriting. But damn, as a teenager it was the perfect album in the perfect time.
Michael Laudrup is the best player from Denmark, ever. Period.
cmon he's not better than Laudrup
what about schmeichel?
BurnBabyBurn! Nah mate check his brother the rangers player Brian, much nicer and I prefer his playing 😁😁😁
Eriksen has outgrown laudrup by now
BurnBabyBurn! Ermmm are you forgetting Lord Nicolas Bendtner?
My childhood Metallica was St.Anger. Many people hate it, I must say that I fucking love it. Took me headbanging.
Wow!, St. Anger sounds way better with this snare and speed!!!! Excellent!
Lars's drums are sounding better thank God.
Best performance in Denmark ever - Kirk played insanely good that day. But all the way through the concert the band was so fucking awesome and was very present with all of us singing along :-) I heard My friend of misery for the first time live!
St Anger soud perfect live, can't wait to have this song in Basel! I love you 'Tallica
not a huge fan and kirk takes a lot of shit but damn that guy pulls off his complicated solos live....all the time
He usually doesn't mess up any solos and is a perfectionist, the person who the fans always blame for messing up in Lars. It's recently at the night before concert that Kirk struggled with the solos and Lars was brilliant again with James' vocals also sounding great
+sugaquaks the reason for him failing was because he was very very drunk still I had a good time watching it
Great as always ! You're my favorite band. 4ever ;)
I love how Lars uses his china like a ride during the chorus of St. Anger.
and the same for every other song! :D He doesnt have a ride. :D
China?
I would just love to see Jason shouting out this "you flush it out " phrase.
He would have fit to the whole record so well...
:(
James's guitar during St.Anger is epic.
I like the original version of St. Anger more than this one and ik people will disagree
Agreed wih Viss. I love this live version but it's not full
Rohan G. Nair Except for that snare
They shortened the song, it's not the same without "And I want my anger to be me"
Additionally Lars doesn't play the blast beats..
Actually I agree it's a damn good version of this song. Wish the snare from the album was in it but whatever
I love how the moment just before the concert starts was filmed and then it goes right into it. It's funny to know that 10 seconds before they become the badasses we see on stage, Lars was joking around with James :)
Apparently to be a big metallica fan you have to admit st anger sucks now? hmm these comments are stupid st anger is a good album to an extent. The best? No. Good material in a weird time recorded kind of weird. Yes.
Man I feel for James' voice in this one. It's clearly not 100% but he's thrashing it out as hard as he can anyway.
they should play more of st. anger but don't cut it, and play 2x4 again :D
Agreed! 2x4 is heavy as fuck!!!
we need 2 X 4!!!!!!!!
there need to be a million more of these
That's really cool seeing how they enter the stage.
21:32 "Pounding out the christian turns into obsession" lol
I swear to god it took me way too long to realize lars is speaking danish, I thought I forgot how english works
Fy'Raka apparently he did too, cause he forgot the word for ‘complaint’ ☺️
Instantly once I heard about Metallica by request I knew we'd hear ST. Anger in 2014.. Live version kicks ass and sounds much better than the recorded Imo
My first Metallica concert... And what a blast it was, so amazing!
30:02 BADASS JAMES
Thumbs up for Metallica:D
I meet Lars in Copenhagen the night of start of St Anger tour at Some kind of monster premiere 2004. Great memories
Saint anger (and the unnamed feeling) is one of the best Metallica's lyrics. I love this song. they must play it with a badass guitar solo (after the first part) in live performances.
Check back on my channel on the 12th January to hear a completely re-recorded version of St. Anger.
#stanger2015
20:51 James, why are you playing Blackened?
He's not. He's playing Battery...
***** Watch the previous MetOnTour video
Don't worry, I understand the reference.
I don't understand the reference. Which video is it? I can't find in the previous videos where James plays the wrong intro. That's the joke, right?
Miguel Pereira Legal
The Norway one... now MetallicaTV puts a bonus clip after the credits at the end, so u probably skipped it :p 20:50 of the last video :)
ST. ANGER!!!!!! THAT SONG IS FUCKING AWESOME LIVE!!!!!!!!
I can't believe they are doing St. Anger. So fucking awesome!!
That laugh at 24:23 tho >
ST. Anger sounds really good in live
Normal Drums ✓
Great Version ✓
Kirk/James Solo X
But i think they could re-write the Song to have a Solo :)
I like St. Anger bc I followed them making it thru met club and it also signaled that Metallica was back. Nostalgia.
This needs to be played again
Wow they skipped an entire middle section to battery.. Ugh.
Any translations for Lars speaking Danish?? =)
Nathan Marchack It would take a while to translate that much, if there is a specific bit you want translated i can help though
Nikolaj Sloth Wow thanks very much... umm I'll rewatch and see if there's a specific part. Thanks again for the offer!
+Nathan Marchack I'm Danish. They were just chit chatting, basic conversation talking about where the fans were from and stuff. Nothing really interesting to say about it :P
+Nathan Marchack The girl in the white shirt said she reckons "St. Anger" is a bad record to which Lars replied: "Bad?? Not bad. 'Different', it's different!".
+Emil Jantzen Thanks =) It's just one of those things where I'd never seen him speaking it before, they're such an institution at this point I forgot he wasn't 'American' =P
My opinion is that St.Anger's sound was different, but rough also and the prison video really capture the rough feeling with that sound, and for music, it's important to create something that makes you feel something along with lyrics. On here St.Anger sounds better than ever!
I loved James' performance during Battery! Epic.
St. Anger is the only song off of the St. Anger album I like
Not Frantic? Or Sweet Amber? Or Dirty Window? Or Unnamed Feeling? Or the acoustic version of All Within My Hands they played a few years ago? there's some hidden gems on that album.
I feel Metallica's hidden gems are off of Reload. For example, songs like Low Man's Lyric, Carpe Diem Baby, Fixxxer, and Where the Wild Things are
Some Kind of Monster
Frantic and Some kind of monster are cool to
Unnamed feeling to me is strong.
straight outta tempo lars
We all miss you except the bullet
+TheToxicDreams HAHAHAHAHA
Heftield's vocals on Battery gave me chills. I fucking love it.
ST.Anger liiiive , this is so fucking awesoooome
Subtitles, we need subtitles during Lars' meet and greet man.
No, I think it's great the we Danes can have a little secret together with Lars ;-)
+Doodgraver Here's subs: Fan #1: "Hi, I'm so and so, I love your music". Lars: "Brilliant, I love you too".
Fan #2: "Hi, I'm so and so, I love your music". Lars: "Brilliant, I love you too".
Fan #3, 4, 5, etc. etc.
Its basic chit-chat
I want the trashcan snare back for St. Anger!
Dave's Garage fuck NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Please god no
What I love about St Anger is that the band did what they wanted to do,made an album that pulled all their aggression out, and still stuck a middle finger at all their haters and St Anger was a number 1 album. No, the album wasn't a shining gold plated album that blew the minds of every listener in the world, but it showed just how much ppl showed interest in what they came out with. I for one think the album has some really cool songs. Hell, Frantic,Dirty Window, Invisible Kid,Sweet Amber, The Unamed Feeling, St Anger, Some Kind of Monster, Purify, and All Winthin My Hands I think are great.
That was the best day of my life!
