I am a high school senior who aspires to be a doctor. I recently just learned two tie these two handed square knots at a medical program that I'm participating in, and I just wasn't tying the square knots perfectly. After watching this up close video I was able to better see the technique. This is a very helpful video!

At least you call it a square knot. Many here don't and again, I don't even use this knot to fish with. Several square knots will still slip and bulk in a wound, thus as you said a slip knot. If you just used a clinched knot for fishing, you would have a couple loops and no slippage, with a much stronger and smaller knot. And I am not even a doctor. I should charge you for this.
