Tom Cruise is at Warner Bros now so it’s more possible than ever.
Edge of Tomorrow is a really good film. I remember being surprised at how funny it was especially the time loop scenes.
I love Edge of Tomorrow. Tom and Emily were just great in that movie. I really hope they will make Part II.
Doug liman needs to get working on that splinter cell movie! 😭

I find it funny John is questioning the premise or premise of making a sequel to a 7-year-old movie when he's been a rapid proponent of sequels to 40+ year old movies in just the last couple years like Top Gun and Space Balls, when he was barely a kid and most of his audience hadn't even been born yet.
The movie is getting old that movie was released 10 years ago 2014 the movie is getting up there in age it's already becoming nostalgia considering how much society has changed in a decade

Could someone replace E Blunt for the second one? Seems like a natural story. New F character gets the visions and Cruise’s character notices something that she can’t seem to grasp. Like his character in the first one.

It was a good film and it got good reactions. As I remember it did okay at the box office but I don't think it was huge. I don't sense it was ever in the zeitgeist the way Top Gun or Terminator did. I would be interested if it was made but my gut feel is that it won't be made.
I wouldnt rule it out really. This movie, besides MI5 and 6, was one of Cruise’s better movies in the 2010s alongside maybe Jack Reacher 1 and American Made due to the cool premise, great action, cgi etc. so a swquel could and should happen imo.

Another problem was that Edge of Tomorrow was a stupid title. However, I understand why they didn't keep the original title All You Need is Kill. It's the name of its manga source material that most people aren't familiar with so that title would have had no meaning to general audiences.
I am surprised that John didn't bring that up during this video since he always said they should have kept the original title. Maybe he does now agree that the original title was too obscure for audiences?

This sounds like another Mad Max situation. Too much time has passed between films, the general audience probably doesnt remember the first one. This isnt a movie that should have a sequel anyways.
The thing about Mad Max is that the recent film was a prequel spinoff that had different stars from its predecessor. An Edge of Tomorrow sequel would have the same two stars.

I have never heard anyone say that they want a sequel to this movie. The ending doesn’t leave anything open. They’d just be undoing the nice ending we already got.
