"The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore)" is a song written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio.
It was originally released as a single credited to Frankie Valli as a solo artist in 1965 on the Smash label, but was more successful when recorded by The Walker Brothers in 1966.
In 1966, The Walker Brothers released their remake as a single. Re-titled "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore", this version met with much greater success than Valli's. It topped the UK Singles Chart, and also became their highest-charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S., where it peaked at #13. The single also hit the Top 10 in Canada, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Norway.

I disagree. As a commercial songwriter I followed along the style of the 50s and 60s in my lyrics and composition. I truly believe there is a market still and always will be. Proof all the oldies that still stand the test of time. Now the vocals- we have lost a lot of the best Walker bros The real original Jay of Jay and the Americans etc etc. new kids keep on coming. I hope I find one for my song that would have been perfect for Scott or Jay or Richard Brandson or they find my sheet music one day 💕cheers

I remember when this song came out... I was 10 yrs old and listening to my transistor radio on 1310 WTLB on the AM dial which was pretty much what we had back then...I was loving Motown and the British invasion at that time... It was such a great time for music...good memories....

Some of his later albums like "Nite Flights" with The Walker Brothers & solo work "The Drift," "Tilt," "Soused," & "Bisch Bosch" will really surprise you.

I always loved this song since it was first released but I don’t think I ever realized just how beautiful it really is until this morning when I stumbled on this video on social media earlier.
