These machines had a very interesting defect from the factory. There was not enough room in the case to allow the battery to expand while under charge. In addition, the bios had a bug that would constantly feed voltage to the battery even at 100%. I use one of these laptops for work and it is on its third battery. The tolerances were so tight that when the battery would start to bulge and expand, it could detach the bottom base cover from the chassis, stripping out the retaining screws.

Well at Microcenter, I purchased one for $561 refurbished. The internal fan was making an annoying clicking noise so I took the back cover off and blast it with a can of compressed air. All is well now. I disagree with you on the display as it is bright enough for me. I think HP did that to extend the battery life. This 2 in 1 is defiantly not a outside laptop but more to be used indoors unless you find a good shade spot outside.

I have bought this machine i5 7th gen.
But there is an issue fingerprint is not working with windows hello(also downloaded latest drivers from HP website).
Face unlock is working fine.
No settings of fingerprint in bios.
