I was worried that would happen, and it absolutely cracked me up.
i love that every episode is "we've tweaked the settings so bosses are more likely to be bosses" and yet somehow every time, its an fuckin random ass animal
Fortissax with his lightning damage in the water filled arena is top notch randomizer. Being wet lowers your lighning damage resist (-20% if i remember correctly).
"You break right I'll go left" Both proceed to run straight towards the dragon. Perfect
I like how they have come fullcircle and are once again fighting a deer but big this time, also loved that eagle actually defeating them.
So Hogwarts is a school of animals run by a ghostly deer which happens to be a giant lightning dragon with a moon fixation. Also there's a giant fire snake and balls that roll down streets. You get accepted if you get the key. Okay. It's been a while since I read the books but there's been a change in management I see.
It's a new tactic for a boss to just fly out of the arena and not come back, but I like it
I love having a tiny chance of bosses becoming small monsters or harmless critters, it's very fun to occasionally encounter in a run.
However, unless you two are INSANELY lucky (or unlucky?), I suspect that your randomization settings are wonky in some way.
In many ways a eagle is a more dangerous predator than a wolf. So i would say the eagle of radagon is actually a more dangerous enemy.
I'd have thought they'd have to reset the save to actually update their seed

Fortissax is the death dragon you fight when Fía dies in front of the body of Godwyn at the end of her quest. It’s a secret end game boss like Placidussax.

I saw Eagle of Radagon and laughed so hard thinking oh another easy one. Then he cruised off and left y'all behind and I realized his genius.
So here's the supposed origin of the whole broomstick thing. It's a bit cursed.
TL;DR: They smeared a hallucinogen on their vulvas & "tripped balls," but thought they had actually flown on a trip to somewhere.
・What we modernly call a broom used to be called a "besom"-a broom being a besom made from the broom bush. (Just a bit of etymology pedantry there.)
・There was a erotic hallucinogen known as "flying ointment" (aka, witches' flying ointment, green ointment, magic salve) that supposed witches would trip on. Applying this to the one's nether regions made it quick absorbing. Besoms were often used an an "applicator."
・This was heavily associated with "flying to the Witches' Sabbath."
・During the era of witch trials there was much debate over whether witches could actually fly from this or if it was simply a "spiritual flight." But, first-hand witnesses always report the later.

Several "witches" found naked & passed out said that they had been "on a journey."

There are depictions of this as well as them flying through the air (which, sensibly would be considered figurative). There's also mention of smearing the salve on hogs or goats and riding them to the destination.
The women themselves seem to believe they had gone on literal trips through the magic of the unguents, in order to meet with and commune with other witches and/or goddesses.
Lol, the Godrick Soldier fight randomizer into the Radhan Festival Duo fight is insane.I know they’ve reroll Ed multiple times but that’s so unlucky and demoralizing if that was the actual first boss fight they tried.
On the topic of thieving animals; we have a local squirrel who runs from it's tree to the polish shop nearby and steals a walnut still in the shell from their outdoor grocery display. I thought it was a one time thing but I've seen it a few times on the way home from uni this week, running off with walnuts and being the cutest, most forgivable thief I've ever encountered 🐿️
Tom's laugh after the eagle flew off was priceless. I was dying too XD

Yall probably never fought Fortissax in the normal game. He's hidden fairly well, like the dragonlord in Farum Azula
Way more hidden than that! Farum Azula you just need to interact with something, Fortissax has the whole classic convoluted questline you have to follow

@@zinczombie I think fortissax and placidusax are both equally hard to find tbh. The cursemark of death is from ranni's quest which I feel like most players complete, and the rest of Fia's quest is incredibly easy - probably one of the easiest in the game. The only thing that's out of the way is the deeproot depths boss room, Placidusax has no 'barrier to entry' as such but the entrance is in a very easily overlooked spot.
Edit: Looked at steam achievements and the bosses have 28.7% (fortissax) and 28.2% (placidusax) achievement completion, so yeah they are pretty much equally hard to find on average.
@@TheMirksta Damn, consider me surprised. I foind Placidusax just by wandering around Farum Azula. I guess lots of players just aren't too thorough with their searches xD

The fact that *_Elden Ring_* & other *_Souls_* game birds become un-targetable after they take flight had me rightly concerned the second the Eagle of Radagon appeared… and now that one defeat caused from all the goofy animal bosses so far making them complacent made this just a perfectly memorable Tom & Ben classic.

Personally, my favorite thing is when bosses wind up being not bosses.
I'm guessing the issue is that you guys are still using the original randomized seed, which has the same settings. I don't think you're able to change the randomizer settings without making a new seed, and so restarting from the beginning.

Does anyone know how/when elden ring loads in bosses? that might be whats screwing them over. If it loads a zone when they get to it then whatever settings the randomizer had when they loaded it would be locked in.

I believe the reason you're mostly fighting deers, and eagles instead of actual bosses, is cause this world still have the old seed. A new seed would potentially require a completely new save file.

Be careful what you wish for is very appropriate here. They wanted real bosses, they got Fortisax and the Misbegotten and Crucible Knight combo.
So I don't know if it's a culture thing or a "yogscast no smart good" thing, but they seem to confuse the words "animals" and "mammals" a lot. Like I feel like there's even been examples in main channel content where someone asked if fish or bugs are animals.

I can understand not referencing JK Rowling or the many, very shitty things she has said but the entirety of Harry Potter? Not sure that's a realistic ask considering how engrained it is.

@@cyriell As a point of order: she got paid for it, and would be/will be paid for any potential future sequels, expansions, or other games put into development in the setting because Legacy did well.
So there is a direct reason for people who don't want her to be supported because of her anti-trans views to want the game to fail. Whether that justifies their actions is another conversation.
I do agree, however, that asking for any reference to her work is yet ANOTHER conversation, and one that I am less partial to.
