My daughter was going to marry a girl, March 19, 2015, she begged me to come to the wedding. I told her just how much I loved her but how much I love God even more and that there was no way that I could attend. She said mom will you pray about it, I said okay I'll pray and you pray and if God tells me to come I will. That was October of 2014. Interestingly enough on March 4th 2015 the Lord miraculously and I mean miraculously delivered her from those demons. She came home and has now been married to a nice young man for 6 years. One day just after they were married she said to me, I always wanted a tall, blue-eyed, blonde haired man. I just about fell out of my chair and said oh really? We both laughed. The One True Living God is faithful to deliver.

@Quint-ib4nf If you know your daughter shouldn’t marry a certain guy who’s background doesn’t check off, your willing to let her go through with the marriage? Would you be stopping her? Stopping her is you showing her love her base on the information or do you love your indifference more by letting her get married because she’s 30 now.

My daughter knows I won't attend her wedding to her girlfriend because I love her too much to compromise my morals and she knows I love her and not the sin.

My sister has a girlfriend too. We both grew up being taught about Jesus but our family fell out of the church. I really pray that our loved ones will come back home to the Lord but I will never be attending a same sex marriage. I've never been married, but that's because I truly believe that marriage is covenant between a man and woman and God.

I did not go to my niece's (gay) wedding. I believe a marriage is the way God designed it. Between a man and a woman. My entire family was there except for myself, my wife and kids, and my deceased Mother. There was Between 100 and 150 people in attendance. I prayed to the Lord on whether we should go or not. He guided me through scripture and convicted my heart, that just being in attendance was blasphemy! I give all praise to our precious Lord Christ Jesus!!

My cousin is gay years ago when she married the woman she's married to now she didn't invite half the family to her wedding because she felt judged. In a way I'm thankful because I didn't have to go through telling her I wouldn't go, she basically beat me to it. But it was still painful because I knew for someone to do that they must be in a lot of pain.
I feel that attending a gay wedding would be fine. Jesus was probably gay. He never married or had kids.

I grew up Catholic and went to an all boys Catholic Boarding school in Denver. The summer following my Senior year, I was called out of her and seen the idolatry and other things in the Catholic church to include homosexuality. Today, I will not step inside a Catholic church, I won't bow down to their idols or call a man father. Many Christian churches that are supposed to follow the Bible actually teach that tattoos are ok, inviting homosexuals into the home and church are acceptable and that's when I leave..don't want any part of it. My brother married another man and he knew not to invite me...everything is backwards now..

But it's refreshing to hear a pastor who isn't woke and preaches God's word and isn't afraid to say his word has no tolerance for this lifestyle. That You will say it's wrong and instead of encouraging it, welcoming in your church and going against God's word You stand with his word.
But God is woke as woke means inclusive
God is inclusive but not all inclusive. He does not include evil into heaven. In fact the people that preach this and teach others to practice this will have their names removed from The book of Life.

I came back to my Catholic faith in 2013. Before that I went to a gay wedding and after 2013 I was invited to another gay wedding and I declined.
This was a very good and truthful message. There are many points here that are very important to take heed of, and pray to God about being filled with the Holy Spirit for the strength and the will to over come compromise, complacency, and apostasy. Romans 8:13 "For if you are living in accord with the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live."

God's Word speaks against any type of fornication which includes homosexuality. Many Christians are OK with premarital sex or living together without marriage but condemn gay relationships. All three lifestyles are sin and fall under the category of Fornication which the Bible speaks against.

Dear Pastor Driscoll, you have attacked an established institution of the present day culture and your ministry shall be persecuted even more. We stand firmly with you and will continue to praise the name of Jesus Christ on high while we shall also pray for you and your family as your ministry gets elevated even more for all to see! Speak louder and bolder about God's love, forgiveness and commandments. Make them understand that this is an inclusive journey of obedience to a life that leads to a higher way.
5-6 years ago when my sister was dating a girl and talked about marriage with that girl she asked if I would attend her wedding. All I could tell her was I will not attend as this is one of those marriages Christ does not agree with and if I go it would show that I agree with the marriage but no matter what you're still my sister and I will still love you but there will be things I cannot celebrate with you 2. She was very understanding and I know that was Jesus working as her gf wasn't and 4 weeks later they broke up.

My sister is gay and married. I wasn’t at her wedding, nobody was. Nobody knew until after the fact. If they thought it was so right why did they hide it?????
After our brother passed away while my mom & I were planning the funeral, our officiant asked what scripture we would to have read. I asked her if there was anything special she wanted to include in the service. Her response was I don’t know any scripture. 🤦♀️ she is also a teacher and supports the rainbow 🌈 flag agenda. I don’t know what to do with this. As my sister of course I love her and want her to be saved. As a Christian I can’t tolerate it otherwise I’m an apostate like he said. Our relationship with our mom took many years to heal and we r finally on more solid ground. Too much there I don’t want to get into. How can I positively express how I feel about how she’s living her life without causing another huge family rift arguing and complete upheaval??? I can’t…. I am at a complete loss at to what to do.
My humble advice:
(I had to go through something very similar with my mom)
Don't express your feelings to her, continue to bring them to God.🙏 If she already knows you don't support that lifestyle, saying anything else about it would cause that rift. (People will always claim that we are judging)
Continue to treat her with love anytime you interract with her, continue to intercede for her and the other person in prayer, and be there for her when God starts to move in her life. (The circumstances in which God brings us to Himself are usually painful, so being there to point to Jesus and help her)
I would ask God for opportunities to share the gospel to her. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict her. Most people in that "community" don't understand that God so loved them... 💔
If she ever brings up anything or asks anything of you that would require compromise on your part: gently tell her what God says and the gospel. 💖

Do you know scripture? Search it and know why you believe what you believe. I had a mother in law who was determined to tell me what I was supposed to believe based her interpretation of what a Christian is - had nothing to do with scripture it was all self-serving. Pastor is telling us to know God’s word - not man’s - and stand on the truth.

Hot take, I didn't approve of my Aunts wedding. I went. Had the hardest, most heartbreaking conversation with her. She knows I didn't approve. But she's not a believing Christian. I can't expect her to keep His commands. She doesn't love God. I would attend a Muslim wedding, or a Jewish wedding, so I went to this one. After a deep conversation with my Pastor, I decided to go to my Aunts wedding. I won't call her partner her wife. I don't condone anything. I don't accept anything about her relationship. But I was there because I love her and she invited me. I can stand in front of God at the end of my life and accept God's decision. I won't worry too much about Mark's opinions on my decision. We are not called to judge, but to pray and witness to these poor souls who are so lost. We cannot support, in any way, anything that is against His will.

I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ helps me to find the right words to bring more people to him.
Christians absolutely are called to judge, to judge righteously (John 7:24). They are not judge hypocritically (Matthew 7:1-3) or by simple appearance. Jesus said we can know people by their fruits. This requires making a judgement, one based on people's actions. This is a just means of judgement.

I thought I'd come here just to say, as a Catholic, I appreciate Pastor Mark's talking points. I go to mass to participate in the Eucharist and the sacraments, but I am deeply troubled by the weaponized confusion Pope Francis is using to throw the laity into Chaos. While my parish is still very much conservative, there is obviously a demonic (liberal) faction of priests (Thinking of James Martin of NY) trying to push synchronism and the demonic talking points. Anyway, Thanks Pastor Mark for calling it out, it is one of the few things that actually boils my blood.

@@fabbrofamily7038 I converted at 30 to Catholicism because I actually researched the history and faith of the church. I had heard those same silly ideas you just regurgitated and actually attempted to understand what the Church actually taught. Here's what any well catechized Catholic knows:
1) We do NOT "recrucify" Christ in the mass. God transcends time and space and therefore so does the Passion and Resurrection. It was a one time event that encompasses the breadth of human existence. It's the reason you and I can even be saved given we weren't around at the time of the resurrection. Not a very difficult concept to understand.
2) We are not a "works based" religion. Catholics simply understand that with the confession of Christ as savior comes the need to also do his will on Earth. The only place where the bible has the words "faith alone", they are directly preceded by "Not by". If your faith doesn't radically change who you are and how you treat others, you have a dead faith. Simple as that.
I would urge you to do some more research and learn what the church teaches before assuming to dictate what others believe and practice. Catholics profess and believe in the apostles creed like every other Christian denomination (with the small matter that the Catholics were the very first Christians to do so.)

I have sincere questions:
1. Would you attend a wedding in which you know the bride and groom have been living together prior to the wedding and/or committing fornication-having sex before marriage? Bc this is also a sexual sin.
2. Would you attend a wedding in which a believer is marrying a known unbeliever? Bc we are called to not be yoked with unbelievers.
3. If you had a child either a minor or adult who had committed a crime for which you know they are guilty would you not show up in court and visit them in prison?

You are absolutely correct. The focus is on sin in general when it should be on the finished work of the cross. We have ALL sinned and all sins separate us from God. Both Mark Driscoll and Alistair Begg fundamentally do not understand the Bible. They both believe and teach a false gospel of “turn from sin” to be saved. The Bible does not teach that. Believe (place your faith in) the finished work of the cross and you will be saved! 1 Cor. 15:1-4 KJV.

Should Christians go to weddings of people who have been divorced? I’ve been wanting to ask this question to someone at my church, but I know it would be a sensitive subject. As a new Christian, I have a lot of questions. I have found more in the Bible about divorce than same sex couples. To God, would attending a wedding of people who have been divorced be just like attending a wedding of a same sex couple when to God, (in a lot of cases) they should only remarry the person that they had divorced? If this is something that only applied in the Old Testament, could someone please explain why?

Are not ALL foods now permissible? Obtaining from shellfish is in the Old Covernant for the Nation of Israel. Check what foods were offered to Peter in the New Testament.
Going to the new testament there's no explicit mention of homosexuality. So now I'm confused.

Thank God for Pastor Mark and his willingness to talk about important biblical issues. If you are going to be faithful to the Bible, you are going to butt heads with hot-button issues, political or moral. Too many "Bible-believing" churches and pastors have become timid and too intimidated to equip God's people. Millions of Christians want to know what to do when they are invited to a "gay marriage."

I think when my sons gf insisted on moving in with him before they were married we tried this. It was used against us and my husband and I still dont have a good relationship with them.
Our niece married another girl going thru a “transition”. We debated mightily about going or not! We finally went ONLY because we wanted her to know, when that “marriage” eventually failed, that she still had a loving family she could turn to.

The issue is how the world and how some "Christians" are conflating sexuality with personhood. If someone identifies as gay, whether they say they're Christian or not. If you ask them what do you mean they will not say this is what I feel. They will not say this is what I do. What they're going to say is this is who I am. That word who reveals this huge error, sexuality, is not who you are, but how you are. So the problem becomes, how can we talk to someone or even have this discussion, or try to convince someone that this is sinful behavior, when they don't even view it as Behavior. They would hear you say that my whole person from head to toe is reprehensible to you and to God. Because they could not hate their sin without hating their self. Their identity is not in Christ. And when there is this huge error, this confusion of making your desire who you are. You can't separate their sexuality from the person which is why people get so offended.

Can we make the same application to divorced people who are marrying someone else? We hear a lot about the same-sex stuff which is understandable but we also have scripture that explicitly forbids divorce unless it is due to fornication. Also the example in I Cor about the man having his father's wife. Why are those marriages allowed and attended? Aren't they committing adultery? I believe the bible is pretty clear about that too and requires the same standard of application. Congregations are very quick to overlook adultery that is clearly noted in scripture.
