Looks yummy!! For the first fermentation what fruits are good to add to the vessel with grains? I’ve been told only sugar the first fermentation or fruits will take probiotics from grains. I brew my own water kefir. My friend recommended molasses in between to feed the grains. Love the fruits ide though. Just confirming what fruits are good to make bubbles 😊

organic non sprayed apples, lemons, pears, plums you name it! the grains are cellulose and need some form of protein and minerals. thats why just sugar is not enough. fruit add to the crystals health, not take away. just nothing that is highly antimicrobial in the primary vessel like too much rosemary - save that for the secondary ferment :)
