So real shit. I sat through that whole burial and as the Preacher said , "Time to move on." A vertibird that got shot out if the sky crashed and spectacularly killed all four of them in a fireball. I thought that hilarious irony was part of it, but I guess not.

I always wished you could get gene as a settler, if you could I would take a place like red rocket or something and turn it into a dog sanctuary for him. You can just tell he’s a nice guy
Sadly, in my playthrough, I met him at Tenpines. He refused to sell me his dog and gone, but dog was bugged, and never left Tenpines. I killed puppy, and never see again Gene.

Man, I logged hundreds of hours in Fallout 4, and I feel like I've only met like 2 of these encounters.
Yea same, would've loved to see the burial one.
Definitely feels like they limit only like 6 encounters per playthrough. I've only ever had 4 in one go, and that's after scouring corner to corner on a completionist run.
I got all of them but synth one, robot girl, and stash
After a while you start fast traveling instead of traveling and limit yourself random encounters

I met the dog vendor, couldn't convince him to sell and I was pissed cause I never found him again!

Couldn't convince him so I killed them both If I can't have the dog no one can
I got him right after I exited the vault. I ran around trying to find caps but when I went back to Sanctuary he was gone 😔
I managed to meet him twice lmao
In one game I ran into Gene three times, probably by level 30. In another I never saw him up to the mid 80's. I swear the game pre decides some encounters at startup.
As a level 15 I lured a Mirelurk Queen to the settler burial. Fun times

A tip, travel by foot more and also on the road to encounter them. I got 22 hrs in and I met Kat & Gus, Art, Jules, Kelly (thrice), the burial guys and a synth looking for Bunker Hill (forgot his name lol).
a lot of ppl complaining that they have 1000 ingame hours and havent encountered a lot of these, stop fast travelling lel easy. Underrated comment

there is a man who say going to vault 81 who has a 10 mm pistol ultimate modified and there is a vault resident who say the same about to return vault 81 but has a vault uniform.

All these years playing Fallout 4, I've yet to encounter Manta Man.
He’s not marked as essential and his stats aren’t anything special so more than likely if he spawned in your Commonwealth, he was killed soon after without you even noticing.

9:46, probably the most wholesome guy around, guy looks after his animals and even is hesitant on selling them to get by, its not real or anything sure, but acting like that in general just shows how considerate a person is for others
I was doing a play through where I chose the Institute ending, but used the Minutemen as my post game 'government', and I'd walked back to the Castle from the Gunner's Plaza, found Manta Man fighting a super mutant. He took dozens of bullets, and died, so I carried him from the Gwinnett Brewery to the Castle and gave him a 'burial'.
Quite some interesting encounters that were cut from the final game

you can actually follow the Synth and escort him as well to Bunker hill. He has some more unique dialogue and even pays you some caps.
Almost every run I do, I always encounter the burial, Sparky, AND the Dog seller.
Mac is definitely my favorite guy to stumble across in the commonwealth, i buy a drink from him anytime I see him

I like the subtle name changes like the Preston Garvey guy goes from being known as that to Preston Garvey impersonator after u call his bluff, the wounded dog, becomes Sparky after you name ‘em
Gene is my favourite random event, he's a lovely character and its nice to see that even in the wasteland someone loves their dogs
You should totally be able to call Fake Garvey on his BS and then recruit him to be an actual Minuteman. It would be hilarious if the recruitment pitch involved the Real Garvey. Choosing the Military Business option on curfew Gutsy and pulling rank on him and being able to recruit would have also been legit.
708 hours and half of these I haven't come across. The Brahmin one, the Synth one, the 2 bartenders, the mirelurk sandwich one, MANTA MAN SHOOK ME DUDE, IVE NEVER SEEN HIM BEFORE EITHER. Same with smiling larry, Ness, the raider chef, and the Gunner border guys.

I like how in most of these videos there is always one clip that gets disturbed by a random vertibird crashing for no apparent reason
If you meet Ness after you already retrieved the plane crash goods, you can convince her that it's not there anymore and it's not worth her time to go looking. She takes it pretty well and moves on.
Doc Anderson helped me clear out a Gunner outpost when I was low level in survival mode.

Oh my god i saw Mac's Bar on my first playthrough. At the beginning of the game, right after i exited vault 111 i went behind it away from Sanctuary Hills (top left of the map) and there he was.
same for me he was quite literally in the middle of the woods, no one else around. I thought it was a bug. WTF is this dude doing out here lmao. But realized you can hire him yourself and he becomes a level 4 bartender at your settlement
The settler burial is some of the best voice acting in the game and I completely missed it in my playthrough

Mac literally spawned next to the satellite array with the super mutants and the distress pulser my first play through i tried to have him handle some of them then i just saw a mini nuke in the distance and just thought well that didnt work

I met Duke west of vault 101, by the raider camp under the electricity pole.
Nicked his fusion core, that made him come out of the armor, and I gained a sweet t-60 PA the start of the playtrough.

Did Cambridge Polymer Labs mission once.
Quest bugged out & didn't remove or let me remove those quest-related capsules.
After that, I never did that quest again.

To those curious as to how I resolved it, the items aren't labeled as their names like "Tungsten" and "Gold" but rather as "Unidentified Substance [X]".
So you can just run the "Player.removeitem ItemID"
The watzz protection is actually a Easter egg too fallout 3, it sounds identical to the line you hear the Megatron protection say if you blow up megaton

Your chance of getting some of them is quite lowthe only few I've gotten out of this list was the Preston Garvey impersonator and the mr. Gutsy initiating lockdown
They’re pretty common if you don’t go fast travelling everywhere, I recommend playing survival you’ll find so many of these encounters
@@Tommy-ct9dh its not at all common to get these encounters; I once had a playthrough with survival difficulty with no fast travel as a challenge and my god that was a pain in the ASS I found so many settlements and buildings etc with so many enemies thats so powerful one could kill me in abt 4 hits or energy damage, alas, i had encountered many encounters but so so less unique encounter i onlyj got abt 2-3 i think so no its not common even if in survival
It's RNG like with legendary loot drops. But some happen in certain areas like near the Slocum Joe's HQ or between Shaw High School (I think that's what it's called) and Jamaica Plain.
Some, like Stash, are at choke points. Bridges, the gap near Tenpines, etc.
@@zzzrrv i think that random encounters are limited to like 5-10 per walkthrough. For example, since I had the lockdown "will comply" encounter for the first time, i had it like 8+ times, but in that game i never had mantaman for example.
I always find gene the dog vendor when I go get the locket for that farm on the hydro pole
I seem to find duke and the wattz electronics robot literally every playthrough i do, i got back into the game thanks to the show hyping me up and i, today in 2024, once again saw both of them in my travels lol

Finally met the Wounded Dog. What a unique encounter. Wish there were more like that.
I discovered some of this encounter accident, when looting nearby body.
I assume they spawned before and then die due to unknown reason or spawn next to those that I just kill and got kill by them before I even meet them.
On my first playthrough I ment like 3 of these guys the brahmin lady,the dog guy, and the hatch guy had no idea they where unique encounters
If you go down the minutemen line of quest when you find him, you can prove your the general
I actually stumbled upon the preacher, yet they spawned right next to a small Raider camp so the fought and won, yet no burial took place after that :)
I remember Lt Gutsy was coming at me with feral dogs chasing behind him. I had to shoot the dogs but for some reason Lt Gutsy was attacking me too. I quicksaved minutes before the encounter but I’ve never seen him again.
Doc Anderson was close by to one of my settlements, now she works for me.

Been playing this since release, I've never met Mantaman. Half the time my random encounters end up dead before I can meet them. Majority of my traders are laying the roads of the commonwealth as they decided to cross into a Mutant suiciders territory.
You forgot about the raider funeral, on the road leading west near drumlin diner.
it was a missed opertunity with gene where you could have sent him an his dig to the castle where he would breed and train dogs for hunting and protection purposes
