    What’s the best way to keep up with updates? Is it joining the XWA, following this channel, or is there a discord?

    To be honest, I had some reservations and doubts when the X wing Alliance was announced. But every single announcement and your reasoning behind the moves makes absolute sense. X wing is in amazing hands guys. I'm excited for the future of the game.

    May the Force be with you!
    I'm really hopefully that this can revive the game and bring some of the factions back together.
    While I'm not particularly sympathetic to folks tossing their toys and quitting due to the 2.5 rules, I do hope some new direction will bring some of them back into a more unified game again.

    Hey, 2.0 Legacy player here. Ive been enjoying the Legacy project since near the beginning of its history. Having spent the past years in Legacy, I believe its important to note XWA could learn A LOT from Legacy's mistakes they made in the past. Learn from Legacy's mistakes and dont repeat them.
    Legacy in 2024 is not the same Legacy that existed in 2022 (and for the good IMO).
    With that said, best of luck to XWA. The choice to not change anything until 2025 is not even a question in my mind. Obviously, you can't change literally ANYTHING until after that.
    IDK what the future of XWA will be. But, I am excited to see that the community seems to be healthier now than even just a month ago. No matter what happens with XWA, sticking with 2.5, changing to a 2.25, I wish all my fellow players the best. Fly on pilots.

      @312squadronChicago 100%. I'm just happy to see more folks pushing plastic ships around the table again. Hopefully XWA doesn't have to make the same mistakes Legacy made in its beginning stages. Thankfully, Legacy is doing great now and hopefully XWA can too.

    That is great. I’m on board. I have made some my own house rules and own pilots designs and expanding with force abilities. I’m glad there is life like this after death.

    I have all the Miniatures for X-Wing. Where do I start? Even though I haven't played since 1.0, I still bought the Miniatures and I particularly focused on the Clone Wars era. I love the idea of a community-based rule set. But the question is where do I start??

    • @dblevins343
      @dblevins343 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I'd start with the official format which is 2.5 which is a 20pt system.
      If your prefer staying more in line with 1.0 did though, I'd probably try Legacy 2.0 which uses the 200pt system.

    Can we get AMG or community to do Cards / Dials for Jedi T-6 Shuttle (Ahsoka), Omicron attack shuttle (Bad batch) & Mando's N-1 to match with a 3-D printed ship?

    • @dblevins343
      @dblevins343 Před 2 měsíci

      I think the answer to this will be to create a universal dial. That way players don't have to create literal new dials with every ship.
      A design like shield counters in Epic could work well. Speeds -5 through 5 on one dial. All maneuver options on the other.

    Been over a month and I’m seeing more and more people selling off their ships. With Legacy and 2.5 both existing the game will probably never recover. 2.5 group will continue with the AMG format that killed x-wing and Legacy will continue to try and keep their head above water.

  • @courtneymoore4666

    I suggest finding a way to get all current ships considered as standard sooner than later. I hear you want to move slow, but one way to attempt to unify the x-wing community is to get those extended ships on the table without prejudice. It is similar to a racial division that the community needs to resolve. I understand that the GT format is standard most likely at AMG events, but this transition might be easier to grow the community by removing this divide that we have seen as a division in the player base. Please consider healing this divide as part of your beta test as quickly as possible.

      @brendanknight9821 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hadn't considered this one, but it's a really good point.
      Especially as it resolves one of the most confusing aspects of getting into the game because it was a legacy issue moving from one edition to another.
      It would free up so many more ships and allow so many different tactics to co-evolve again.

      Thank you for your work so far, and thank you for the speed with which you have all reacted to the announcement from AMG. There are some names in your group that I really respect, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with. One thing that I especially like is your focus on community cohesiveness. With that in mind, I would like to suggest that somewhere on your new website, you set up a conversion document for new players. For each pilot Card or upgrade, have its points for each version of the game. A column for 1.0, 2.0, 2.5 and XWA. Simultaneously, allowing you to move forward while showing respect for what has come before. We have something similar in our local group, and it allows new players to join in whichever version they own. We start with them playing the system that they are expecting even if their opponent is playing a more recent ruleset. Obviously, competitive players will want to play the most up-to-date rules. However, if you can set up some kind of no man left behind policy, I feel that there is a way to bring together many of the people who left the game because their investment was disregarded. If you can manage to pull that off, I think that you will succeed where both FFG and AMG failed. I hope that you do succeed and I will follow what you do with interest.

    Shame to see it will stay three different communities. Oh well. Figured it would.
    13:30 did you just repeat the same BS that AMG shoveled years ago? Didn't know how to build squads out of the core box? Hwhut?🤨

    • @lloydpowell5683
      @lloydpowell5683 Před 2 měsíci +2

      I have to say…
      I had a friend I used to play 40k with, he was definitely competitive, he bought the corebox and some imperial ships because he liked the imperials…
      He wouldn’t take any advice, he didn’t want me to give him any learning time. He just wanted to jump into it, thinking he would kick my butt with his own ‘homework’…well…
      Besides us not talking anymore since our one game of Xwing , His big complaint to me was, ‘where are you getting these rules from?’ Because he didn’t listen to me, he didn’t know anything about FFG updates. Nothing explains what happens when you ‘bump’, etc
      The 2.0 core box NEVER really gave a good ‘list building’ example, just 1 Xwing, 2 ties, escalation AND an option to buy new ships without much guidance to ‘list building’.
      If someone played 1.0 they might have a better idea as when they bought the 2.0 core box set to check the FFG website and such, outright, I’ve had three people I bought core box sets for that had similar problems but I was there to ‘guide’ them.
      Just saying, Nick HAD a point but I also understand how you might possibly react contrarily to his statement. Peace.
      (AMG’s obfuscated nonsense definitely comes to mind but I can’t blame XWA/Nick for a developers lame ‘obfuscated’ translation when they don’t listen to advice or they fail to do their homework properly for an ‘acquired’ product…just sayin 🫡)

    • @312squadronChicago
      @312squadronChicago  Před 2 měsíci +4

      What? No, I’m saying if a new player bought a core set during 2.5, there was no indication on where you needed to go to build a list, because AMG relied on the community squad builders but wouldn’t acknowledge them.
      Way different. Talk about inferring.

      @danteunknown2108 Před 2 měsíci +2

      @@312squadronChicago ohhh gotcha. That makes way more sense. Considering the FFG core set and AMG starter sets didn't have anything to distinguish them as separate editions while both on shelves simultaneously, I think we just illustrated how confusing the whole mess was. Thanks for the clarification. 👍
