Your prior experience at the engine factory shows in your work. I learn a lot from your videos. I recently rebuilt a similar Polaris gearcase . The silent chain was within spec, but the bearings were completely shot. I purchased the bearings for $32 to $39 apiece, After I completed the job I found a source where I can purchase the OEM bearings for nine to $12 apiece. And I have enough Hondabond left over for maybe 100 more gear cases.
Nice. Thanks. Yup 14 years of building engines in a plant helped a lot. My favorite part was tearing them down and rebuilding them when we had faulty parts from vendors.
Wow! This explains a lot about this transmission . Thanks for taking the time to make videos for us Noobies here ! I have a 850 Polaris 2020 park won’t hold it makes a clunking noise sounds like park is gone and won’t go in Reverse ( it will read R but the R blinks ) when I hit the gas sounds like is in neutral :/ what could it be ?
My 2010 Sportsman 550 runs fine, tranny oil ink dark, has some scary rough metal fillings on drain plug, taping sound from tranny, at idle and running. Do I have a bad chains?
I have a Polaris 2000 Anniversary 500 Sportsman, and I have been having trouble with my thermostat and installing it. I have taken it apart and replaced everything that I can and it still overheats. Do you have any suggestions for this. The radiator is not the problem, but I don't know where exactly the pump is? If you can help me out with a suggestion I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.
czcams.com/video/2v1_y-lEsD8/video.html Here is were the pump is. Did you burp the system? If air is trapped in the hoses it will overheat. Also Did you test the fan? On older sportsmans I hot wire the fan because you never know when the temp sensor will go out.
I was wondering if there was any way I could get in contact with you I have a 95 Polaris that I'm having four wheel drive issues with and having troubles figuring it out
Man im having an issue with my 99 scrammy 500 when you acelerate it grind pretty bad and its getting worse. If you be easy on it i can drive it without grinding but its pretty bad sounding. Any advice? I think its the gear case.

Where do you get the manual to rebuild this????
What type of sealer did you use for the gasket
Sweet
grease the shim to the bearing like glue
why they use a chain when they could easily add another gear instead?
New oil in tranny made noise much less and ticking is more clearly from damper clutch. Do you run into loose damper nuts noisy cases? Thanks.

Did you use new seals for the transmission? I’m fixing the same kind
I didn't need to. mine were good. It might not be a bad idea to replace them though if your that far into it.

Can I send you a video of what its doing?
I have a video on a scrammy rebuild. Could be shift fork worn out or dog gear broke. Chain could be sloppy, stretched out.
