    Cant stand the bias towards Oilers by the sports analysts and also the refs/league. No talk of suspensions for Oilers intentional spear to the nuts on Hoglander, or throwing Pettersson head first into the boards followed by an elbow to the back of the head, the intentional high stick on Hughes, the lumberjack slash by McDavid on Soucys injured leg before he was accidentally hit in the face by Soucys cross check that was intended for the chest. Blatant bias

    • @rodzor
      @rodzor Před 15 dny +16

      It's always been biased. It is what it is. Brian Burke saying "Sedin is not Swedish for 'punch me, or headlock me in a scrum.'" comes to mind. It just makes victory all the more meaningful.

      The "heir apparent" has had a bit of pampering for years. "We need to protect the stars" is code for protecting McDavid. This might be a good thing if they also protected Hughes and Pettersson. The problem is the attitude by owners/mgt/league about the playoffs being refereed in a more laissez manner. Other sports have, by and large, been able to avoid this tendency... not sure why hockey hasn't.

    Same story , same discussion. Oilers need a certifiable#1. Like a demko , saros , ottinger. Skinner just hasn't been able to elevate his game. A decent goalie but definitely being outduelled by silovs. A young prospect who shined at the world cup and now is showing that same shine in the playoffs. Id earnestly believe pikard will do better cause he's very seasoned cause skinner dragging his feet cause of the pressure to win as a favorite.

  • @kovuroo
    @kovuroo Před 15 dny +9

    The only reason why draisaitl said "the post is not good goaltending" is because the question asked was "4 or 5 shots hit the post, is that bad luck or good goaltending?" It was a stupid question which is what he snapped back at, not silovs. I wish some people would read the context sometimes.

Only Canuck players disciplined... OK. Nothing for spears, boarding, slewfoots, elbows which were far more dangerous?

    • @familymclean

    Canucks built their team around 5 on 5 play. Traded players for it, coach it, watch videos on it. The downside is maybe an under-emphasis on special teams. I'm not sure what the Oilers have been working on. PP and PK become more important in the playoffs... but you get less of them it seems, so... 5 on 5 and grit and endurance matter. Oilers can still win this, but their lack of depth and lack of 2-way Dmen hurts them over the course of a series. This is on the GM in Edmonton. Oh, and the goaltending problem... been a problem for 3 years now. Also a GM problem.

    • @mrquirky3626
      @mrquirky3626 Před 15 dny +1

      You got to give some some credit to the improvements the Canucks made on the PK this season. Not only was the team almost dead last in the PK in the last two seasons in a row but they almost set a league record for lowest season PK percentage ever. They got it up to at least 17th in the league this year and that trade for Lindholm was just as much for him to help the PK as 5 on 5.

Watch out for a Canucks suspension, and NOTHING for McD-Time for the slash that precipitated it all, though. Was there any word on a suspension for the spear to the groin from last game? Nope, Ryan gets nothing... Soucy cross-check to the head was a complete accident; falling McDefense? after Zadorov hit was the reason... Had he been standing, it would have been a check to the chest, and the scrum eventually played out... But this is Connor Hockey God, so, who knows how biased the NHL will play this... ??

    The main reason the Canucks are winning is not Silovs. The main reason is that the Canucks play a complete, balanced game and the Oilers play a top-heavy, incomplete, imbalanced game. Better to face 40 shots with proper structure than 14 with chaotic turnovers and countless missed defensive assignments... If you were trying to create the most difficult situation for a goalie, it would be this - be on an offensive team that spends all their time in the other end, and still doesn't score enough to justify the style, and then when they finally do come your way, it is odd-man rushes and chaotic defensive turnovers. Oh what a coincidence - that is the Oilers exact system!
