He didn't quit, he was just replaced, even Judi Dench said they did it horribly to him.He was the best and should have never been replaced.
This guy exudes debonaire. He auditioned for Bond some 15 years earlier when he was playing Remington Steele. Just can't get any smoother than this guy.
Pierce Brosnan is by far the best Bond. I'm going to miss him playing as James Bond. I will always remember this good man. Good job Pierce for an excellent act as James bond.

Pierce Brosnans father was one of my neighnors here in Ireland for years..a dignified old fella cycling round on his bike....he abandoned Pierce when he was a child and Pierce came to meet just once around 1990.

Absolutely agree with you pal, for example, right now Daniel Craig is having a huge succes because of the amazing script he played and of course his way of acting, but, can you imagine, if Pierce Brosnan were younger and were making his James Bond Debut with Casino Royale´s Script? It Would be amazing... Pierce and Sean are my two favorite Bonds...

that may be true, but i'd rather see him quit while he's in his prime, leaving nothing but happy warm fuzzies at the recollection of his films, than i would see him continue to produce films after the point that it starts getting pathetic.
that said, however, i agree with you. he's my favorite bond, and i think he definitely did have one more in him.

@jemimakahn I completely agree with you. Ive seen him in films like The Long Good Friday, Live Wire and The Ghost Writer and, personally, believe he was capable of making the character a little darker (like Craig is now) if the producers had let him.

Dalton was the best bond, he was down to do Golden Eye but the film company was in a 4year court case then he decided he didn't want to do it any more.
Brosnan would have done an equally good job on Casino Royale and that's not taking anything away from Daniel Craig who was the perfect replacement
goldeneye was one of the best Bond movies tomorrow never dies was underrated, after goldeneye tho they tried to make the movies flashier and more action which is fine but meaningless if the story sucks it really is to bad they could have done so much more with him but he still was one of the best Bonds

I was first introduced to James Bond thanks to Goldeneye (both the movie and the N64 video game) so I'm a little bit biased when I say that Brosnan is my favorite Bond.
I still think Daniel Craig is a good Bond, but Quantum of Solace wasn't as good as Casino Royal (Casino Royal was great, but QoS... not so much). Hopefully once they finish up this "Quantum trilogy" that's going on right now Craig can star in a film that's a bit more like the Connery or Brosnan films.
