Power under the curve. That's the seat of the pants feel. The peak numbers were a mild (about 3%) improvement but if you look at the whole curve you made gains everywhere. Y'all can expand on this, Chris knows.

Kinda surprised you didn’t put the Sawicki Exhaust back on. That one performed the best right? GoldZilla was 150.5hp/153.6tq with that sawicki speed no cat pipe. Also that was a great episode, that dude from sawicki was pretty funny.

I bet that trask trans vent cover and external breather system was a huge contributor to those clean heads. Not routing oil into your engine anymore.

Could the lack of buildup on the pistons be aided by sending the oil from the intake back to the oil reservoir? That was a modification you did if I am not mistaken.

Couple observations that might be useful. The tunnel ram help with drivability because it increased the runner length and plenum volume. In the v8 world longer runners make it more drivable and responsive down low, plenum volume also helps. Would the cleanliness of the pistons be due to the breather mod and not inhaling a ton of oil all the time more than the fuel?
Sacrificing velocity for volume is not a good idea. This is why many ruin port jobs just hogging out volume. The magic of long runners isn't simply volume
@@dormantmenace true, I think they are discovering that the king stroke of a Harley will be really happy down low with the longer runner and more plenum. But getting hurt up too by the velocity

I can say if you're constantly lugging and not reving in the upper rpm range, you'll carbon up pistons quickly. Running the ever living snot out of it will actually have a more efficient burn rate, which causes less carbon build-up.

You guys needs haltech. And use their ethanol content sensor. Then you can fill it up with anything you want .
Ethanol makes for LESS carbon build up. If you ran a few tanks of e85 the piston and combustion chamber would be nearly spotless even after 50k of gross carbon build up

With those being SE cylinders I can’t believe they lasted as long as they did. I have had 0 luck with HD cylinders.

The carbon build up, does that have more to do with ethanol free fuel or diverting the oil run off back into the crank case? Or both?
Usually not venting the intake into the atmosphere is the cause. In this case I would say it is because the oil run off is being diverted into the crankcase. I’m not a mechanic though.

So I upgraded a 117 to 131 Stage IV SE. Love it. Now how do I upgrade further? I have all the stock 117 crap. Can the117 be upgraded as a core so to speak. I need more power. Trask Turbo?
Makes me wanna get a borascope to look and see how much build up I have on my pistons cause my bike was running real rich at one point

Tooo much info on this video. I have a LRS with a 131, it was 148hp/157tq (TTS250 cam). I just changed from Thrashin to HPi pipe, I feel the difference but I haven't dyno the bike with the new pipe. I'm going to install S&S roller rockers, once I go over 150hp I'll be happy.... for now! Blockhead finish the video with the right statement.... THE $ 💵 TO HP 🐎 RATIO GETS VERY EXPENSIVE AT THIS POINT!!!

Overloading the engine can cause a ring to shatter. Hard pulls in wrong gear. ...to much load... things like that
What is the big difference between the 131 and now the new 135 that Harley makes
Besides the obvious 4 extra cubes the 135 crate motor comes with upgraded SE billet cam plate and a couple more goodies. I'd still run a "race only" cam and tune if you were going to go either motor IMO to get rid of the EPA choke.

With all the HP how do you cool the motor especially the rear cylinder,with all the heat generated possibly have a secondary oil cooler for the rear cylinder
The officialMac CZcams channel runs E85 in his Harley? Is there a certain fuel pump I need to run E85 in my bike? 2022 FXLRS with the 117
Check your local gas stations to see if the carry E85. I have 0 E85 stations where I live....
I don't think Harley's are FuelFlex... is either E85 or gasoline
