If the SkodaVRS guy wasn't consistently speeding on the motorway, or rapidly accelerating through junctions, most of those near misses could have been avoided.

As for Skoda VRS, dropping the best part of 30mph off their speed (from above limit) in lane 3 to film other motorists, Black, Kettle, Pot.
Skoda VRS, a hypocrite there's a fair bit of footage over the speed limit, never mind bad driving. 64 in a 60, 80 in a 70, 79 in a 70, 54 in 50.
It's more likely your speedo on the car is incorrect as there are many factors which effect readings, your dash cam has GPS coordinates, therefore using GPS satellite data the speed is almost spot on.

Nor would I want to be within 50m of them. The depth perception of wide angle lenses as used in dash cams makes things look further away than they actually are. Therefore, in my book, you are too damn close. If you had continued at almost 80mph you would have been past them in moments, instead of loitering around their blindspot, and perhaps alongside another vehicle for around 20 seconds. I deal with camera footage like that almost daily at work for collisions and had they done something stupid in front of you, I would raise all these points as reasons my driver could have easily avoided an incident and thus require suspension and re-training.

Speed is a measure of time over distance. That is how GPS calculates speed. Speedos are electro-mechanical devices, that are affected (to a small extent) by such things as tyre pressure and wear.
No point testing in another car, as that introduces another variable that is likely inaccurate. You can do it from supplied video. White lines are of a set length and separation, thus you have distance, and from time codes you have time. Thus you can work it out.
I wouldn't rely on the "never got caught by a camera" argument, ACPO guidance is that they should have a threshold of limit+10%+2mph, thus 57 in a 50, 68 in 60, 79 in 70. Which given your speeds appear to be generally above the limit, but under that threshold, it seems you may well be aware of that.
Skoda have nothing to answer for in all probability, the law is quite specific about speedometer accuracy in that it can never read under, but can read over by a similar margin to that suggested for speed cameras, thus you could drive through a camera at almost 90 on a speedo and not get flashed.
The brake-checking was not being done at that speed, as evidenced by the rate you were gaining on them. Drivers who are not aware of their surroundings don't brake check, that is an action of someone aware, and a little pissed off.
I accept none of us are perfect drivers, and I am glad that seeing criticism has made you rethink what you did, and hopefully will be remembered should you find yourself in a similar position again

Incorrect bobbybee1001. GPS speed is an average of the last several seconds of travel. Watch the indicated GPS speed net time a car stops suddenly in an accident. You will see that it drops in increments for several seconds after the vehicle stops.
It is also only as accurate as the resolution of the GPS module, which is dependent in the number of satellites it can lock onto and the accuracy that is current;y programmed into the GPS satellites at that time.
Yes, the US government can change the accuracy of the GPS system at any time, which is the main reason that Russia is launching their GLONASS system, so that their own missiles, artillery and troops c.an be accurately guided

As they do in most of these compilations to be honest. People think having a dashcam makes them invincible, so they go out seeking/creating conflicts where none would exist if they just drove like reasonable people.
Yep, see it a lot. Like you see a car pulling out, me or you would just slow down, give a flash of the headlights and let them pull out, they will give a flick of the hazerds to say thanks and everyone goes about their businesses. But noooo, not some of these idiots, they speed up to make a situation out of nothing.

bob hope well if they're at a junction and they NEED to give way to you then people don't need or have to slow down or give them a flash of the headlights to allow them to pull out ... people just assume other road users will do that and then cause a whole issue and make a whole situation out of nothing if they just patient and actually waited...? I had someone pull out on me and nearly write my car off because he assumed I was going to let him pull out when he should've gave way to me
A lot of people accelerate to close gaps at busy junctions just to get close to people pulling out and engineer a near miss, there are also lots of clips in these compilations where people expect lorries and buses to accelerate out of junctions far faster than they're capable of. Sometimes drivers of heavy vehicles have to take a gap and oblige people to slow down or they'll be clogging up the junction forever and getting nowhere.
People also can't see when drivers looking to pull out of junctions have limited visibility and need to move out for a view. Just because you can see someone's bonnet, it doesn't mean the driver inside the car can see you.

Some nice clips here- I've subscribed. If I was Aberdeen Dash Cam at 3:17, I would've just let him go- speeders will speed regardless. But I did find it funny how, even though he was in such a rush, he had the time to stop and have an argument!

It's funny that Aberdeen Dash Cam is so against people speeding he's prepared to match the speed of someone exceeding the limit just to keep up with him and have a row. There are no houses right on that stretch of road, 40mph wouldn't be dangerous there by the look of it so there was nothing specifically dangerous about the speed of the BMW driver or the overtake beyond the fact it was breaking a speed limit. What made things dangerous was the dashcam driver's swerve at the overtaking BMW.
Pity you didn't show the part where you braked so hard that I'd no option but to overtake you before we came to the village? Funny how you cut out all your "good" bits?

When I drive around Peterborough I see motorcycles with yellow jackets on who teach other motorcyclists how to drive better. It is a great scheme. Pretty much all motorcycles dr with their lights on. Safety first!

I know this is an old video but just want to clear up 1:40, the biker is illegally filtering, when filtering in stopped traffic, you must wait behind the lead vehicle unless there is a designated cycle box, as there was no box, the biker should have waited behind the car

Motorbikes have no right to ignore the rules and push past traffic just because they fit, it's simply easier for them to overtake in moving traffic (when it's appropriate)

The biker should have just ignored the guys in the car trying to goad him. You can spot a driver who's going to give aggro like that. Just allow them to block you, don't make eye contact, don't engage with them in any way. Then when the lights change, open the throttle and you're gone and they're far behind, never to be seen again.
