- Hello and welcome back. Today I continue my hunt for all the commemorative 50p coins and this is now the best hunt I have ever had! I find Kew Gardens which is the rarest 50p, Jemima Puddleduck and a whole heap of Olympics!!! I hope you enjoy!!!

I opened a shiny charizard when I was around 6 in a card store, never been happier in my life. Then someone stole it from me about an hour later. Never saw it again :(
What a difference five years makes, not just for the channel and your confidence growing, but also the amount of decent coins found compared to today 2024.
My memory keeps telling me I have had a Kew gardens in my hand a year or so ago. I remember looking at it, being a stamp collector and coins in my youth, I always look at the unusual ones, but being out of it for a while I did not know what this was worth. To top it off I took my mum down to the Bournemouth air show on Sunday. I saw her tossing a 2 pound coin into a charity box, I saw it was a commonwealth games one, sods law is telling me it was a NI but I will never Know.

What a lovely moment when you find Kew Gardens. I hope you still have and cherish that coin.
I remember years ago I had a Kew gardens 50p, I remember looking at it not realising the rarity then, and then proceeded to insert into the coffee machine at work for a 20p cup of coffee, I did the same with an undated 20p, it was the 1st coin I had when they bought the new backs out and I remember saying, "oh look they no longer have dates on" the 2 most expensive cups of coffee I have ever bought!

I currently help out for my dad who is a football coach by working in the tuck shop selling teas, coffees and sweets to the players. Most things are priced at 50p so I tend to get a few rare ones I can swap out! My motivation to work!

I got three of the Kew gardens 50p coin in one lot of change about a year ago everyone was so hyped about them as far as I was concerned I only needed one so I deliberately spent two to put them back out there for someone else to find one. Since then I have found another and now have two in my collection my hole collection is all from change given at shops

Congratulations on finding the Kew Gardens 50p. As I'm not a coin collector, but rather someone who just 'puts aside' any commemorative 50p coins I get, I didn't even know the Kew Gardens coin existed. But I'm pleased you finally got one, and hopefully you'll get the Olympic Boxing and Wrestling ones pretty soon.

i recently was extremely fortunate to have the chance to buy the kew set, the piedfort/piefort.... a chance i couldnt resist.. my favourite 50p. its sent off for grading , hoping it gets a high grade,.. a real beautiful British 50p. congrats on your kew gardens! Christopher, its most strange how all of a sudden one becomes in touch with god......and a strange goosebumps feeling happens...i had this exactly feeling ..and shouted oh my god.........when i found a coin,.id been searching 4 years to find with my detector...a gold coin. just a little funny observation ive noticed with people....great video.

I remember finding out that the kew gardens coin was worth £100, I never knew this whole time and just had it with the rest of my own collection xD Made sure to keep much better care of it since then!

I couldve kicked myself last yr or 2 ago...I had 2 kew gardens from change in a post office? I admired them..didnt realise the value of them and just put them in my purse..I ended up using them!! THEN I found out just how much they were worth?..I am so choked over it!! I don't think I will ever have one again..but There's no harm in searching!

Hi,there. These are bags straight from the mint,Because the banks clearing house was bring in new stock of 2019 coins and needed to get rid of old stock. That's what I was told by the bank clerk, she said people was telling other people about this and she couldn't see what the fuss was all about. I said the bag a lone was worth money with bank of England stamped on it. The coins sell for ten pound each but a bag unopened from the Bank of England, got to be double or treble the values. Does your records show when you got them 2016, Yes they arrived October and some in the January 2017 and where have they been in one of our security storage facilities straight from the mint in Wales. G. . A small God. Goofus. Allegedly.

I've been getting 50p's from the bank but they always come in the open money bags and I haven't had much luck, how do you go about getting the sealed ones?
Oh Cool! I'll cross my fingers for you then! They order in the coins for me as don't generate enough coins in to supply me so the coins I get are new to the bank.
