Bicycle by Queen. maybe the best dramatic lyric reading yet. Mainly because it caused Dave to visually belly laugh! Now that's entertainment.
! Keep up the good work fellas!

Gary, being a trombone player, I am really into bands with horns. I was thinking of a story I heard from Jimmy Pankow, from Chicago, as you were talking about BST and Spinning Wheel. The boys of Chicago were all living in a house in LA writing music and playing gigs, getting ready to record what would become Chicago Transit Authority. They played a little of what they were doing for a producer, who may have been Geurcio , who took Thier idea of a Rock Band with Horns as a voice to Canada, pulled together some studio musicians and a blues singer, and they wrote and produced an album in 68, beating Chicago to the punch by a few months. That lit a fire for Chicago, and they released CTA a few months later. It was, of course, monster album and Chicago was born.
I heard Chicago and Earth, Wind, and Fire in concert on Columbus a few years ago and it was an amazing show.
I play with the Greater Huntington Symphonic Band Jazz Band. Over the past couple years, we have played Get it On, 25 or 6 to 4, Vehicle, among others at our concerts.
    I love music with brass!
By the way, William Shatner is going to be at the Paramount in September, so here's your big chance.
One you didn't mention, and certainly more Pop than Rock, but KC and the Sunshine Band had some nice brass in Thier songs.
A fun show. But what was in that bottle Dave was drinking? Y'all is off the rails!
    Till next time,
    Doug

Doug--Cold water for me, too...provided by Dave. Glad you appreciate the brass/horn sound of pop music. As you know, it couldn't all be covered in one outing..so many artists/groups used that powerful sound. But many of my favorites utilize it, and I thought it'd be interesting to see who shared the opinion, and to share some of our personal faves. Thanks as always for listening and writing.
