The two people I always can’t wait to see put out RC videos, are you and Kev. Y’all are always quick to expose the weaknesses of RC’s. I wonder if that’s why Traxxas & Arrma don’t send y’all RC’s for free to review. Lol. Y’all give them proper beat downs. Obviously more excessively than other reviewers. But out of the 15+ videos I watched before this was released, no other reviewer broke the wing, clearly cause they babied the RC. But that broken wing is for sure a weakness seeing you didn’t even land on it.
Awesome driving like always. It's amazing how you can slam it to the ground with no slipper clutch and stock gears still hold up
I know the scale is different, but would love to see your take on an XRT vs Sledge comparison...especially since we all know you have a nicely-upgraded Sledge. The other comparisons I've seen are stock XRT vs (crappy chassis) stock Sledge.
Nice video. I recommend stiffer springs for airing it out like that.

Excellent vid as always. So with the wing fixed. you spoze with a different set of wheels/tires. "(usually most people put on an Arrma W/T)" would it greatly help making a back flip or any kinda stunt? From your experience driving it, would it be a better option, or would it just make it easier to break more than just a wing? Dam I hope that makes sense. Lol.
Oooh that's why the hubs changed. I've not had crushed bearings on my Xmaxx, but it makes sense that could happen. Also love you showed the SRT! Traxxas, The Team to Watch!

Great overview and first run Brother 🤗. Definitely put down a solid durability test. That impact/support ring is gonna end up on backorder 😂. Hopefully 3DRC or RPM jumps in with a simple upgrade option. Looks like mounting a smaller reciever box would allow the ESC to move forward for bigger can motors 😍. Glad the stock gears didn't implode. Looking forward to experimenting with this sucker. 🍻😎💪👊👊

What I don’t understand is why a hobby shop can’t bring it in as there discounts are big 🤔 one distributor in every high traffic area should be worth it in sales just my thoughts asi know a dealers cost 🤷🏻♂️

Aside from that terrible wing mount design I am impressed! I want one eventually, $1000 is a big price tag plus they are all sold out already. Looking forward to more on this one 👍👍
where did you buy the batteries?
You can put a thick foam underneath the Chassis so when it plunges on the ground will save lots of replacement parts don't you think let me know if works.

Seems like for that location a stunt truck such as the Outcast 4S v2 would be more fun. I just viewed a video of XRT fitted with Xmaxx tyres whereby it was much easier to make it do double backflips.

I agree, these tires are more for "racing" than jumps and stunt..
I really like the truck, not a huge fan of the price, but also I like the drive shafts they seem really tough.

I'd change out the tires to either backflips or copperheads, max 6 esc, Arrma radio...don't like the traxxas radio without throttle limit switch...but seeing the jumps and such?......ima stay with my heavy hitters..outcast 8s and Xmaxx's

@@RazorRC was thinking about one of these. Do to my living space I have to limit myself to 1 large scale RC. So DBXLE 2.0 for me. Besides that my Mojave is plenty big. This is a pretty sweet truck though.

Over $1500 in Canada traxxas has priced us out of the game pretty fast , even my hobby shop can’t afford to bring it in unless it’s pre paid for !!

Some of the big Arrma rigs are now on sale in the USA - 50-55% off the regular retail price. I picked up an Outcast 8s for about 50% off of list price at a local hobby shop in Canada. So deals are coming, if this is too much money. Looks cool though.

Kind of wonder if they will make a XRT 4S based off the maxx4S. I wouldn't mind that. One of my biggest aggravations with the maxx is how the rear of the body gets the crap beat out of it without a wing to absorb some of it. That and the bulkheads has left the maxx a bit wanting for me... so it will sit on the shelf for a while.
They already have one (although it's 6S, not 4S). It's called Sledge.
@@robbryan3044 Yeah, it's not really related to anything though whereas the xrt is pretty closely related to the xmaxx. Same arms, diffs, etc.
@@olds97lss Not related to anything??? The Sledge & XRT are both truggies, whereas the X-MAXX is a monster truck. Yes, the XRT is "based" on the X-MAXX, and the XRT & X-MAXX share a few (albeit, very few) parts...but, beyond that, the Sledge & XRT have more in common than the X-MAXX & XRT. Now, if you want to talk scale, the closest comparison would be the Arrma Kraton, as both are truggies AND (essentially) the same scale. Also, in terms of real-world usage, again, the Sledge (and Kraton) are closer to the XRT than the X-MAXX is. The X-MAXX is fantastic for stunts & jumps. The XRT is horrible for that, and MUCH better at street-level performance & handling. RazorRC even stated as much after taking the XRT to the BMX park nearby. My neighbor & I have taken our X-MAXX & Kraton there, and I'm in complete agreement that the XRT is not up to that kind of 'abuse '.
@@robbryan3044 I was under the impression that the entire drivetrain of the x-maxx is in the xrt as are the arms with the axle carriers being able to be installed on the xmaxx. Chassis is molded different, along with bulkheads/body/mounts/wing, etc. May not be as direct an overlay as the stampede and the slash, but from what I had seen so far, it's far closer to the xmaxx in the drivetrain/arms than the sledge.
Doesn't really matter, was just looking for a lower slung maxx4s, plastic chassis, etc. with a wingmount/wing on it to have a smaller/lighter version of the xrt that I could swap over some of my MaxxV2 parts too and be rid of the thing as it is.
Sledge is not like the Max, has an aluminum chassis for one.

I think you choose the wrong battery, is bullets connectors they fail, for racing will be nice but jump not, if you put different battery don't use bullets to connect to the battery the exp will be much better, still the wing mount breaking that nothing, is still Xtreme Racing Truck (XRT), and great brother for the XMax
Why does everyone has a blue one?
The display models were blue, now they have also orange/green/red. I wanted a blue one because my Xmaxx is red, my Sledge is orange, and my Hoss is green.

I like it..I liked the xmaxx but i hated how it handled..This one is like a xmaxx set up for handling..I still wont buy any traxxas stuff though lol
Traxxas need to upgrade their radio so that it is more user friendly, maybe they can have a small screen so that the users can see the trim adjustments instead of the red buttons to change program setting. This is just my opinion...i mean after all, if traxxas want to stay with the button proprietary mode then just make it have only ONE button.

@@RazorRC it looks like 3d rc is going to have to come up with a wing mount since the stock one looks weak. The Xmaxx steers better because it's less wide stock. I prefer that! My X-Maxx steers way better than my wider 8s Arrmas.
Looks like it doesn’t flip easy probably new tires would make it more stunt capable and better for your jumps

You know like everything else in this world has come too,leave it up to aftermarket to produce alot of what that truck should come with for that price, the truck is nearly completely plastic and with the size it is and weights, u would think metal shocks and caps as well as metal shock tower !! Probably be asking to much for a aluminum chassis brace for that $1000 traxxas Wants for cheaply built truck, and its noted traxxas has been in the hobby longest at this time, but to ask for top dollar and all thats given is a gigantic size truggy style truck and basically is about it, traxxas needs to look at other trucks offered for similar cost im not too impressed but definitely is a cool truck just another $150+ in better quality parts in those areas where should've came with.
$1000USD.... must be in cost of materials...?
maybe $10 in plastic vacuum forming raw matierials....you're paying for machines, not the product

I do not like the price seems like a $699 RC, was going to sale my Xmaxx and purchase this but I will just keep my Xmaxx. The wing broke from a proper landing Traxxas should replace for FREE.

I wouldnt consider this smaller than the xmaxx. What it lacks in height it makes up for in width.

Way too heavy for a truggy i guess. I love the xmaxx. The XRT don't seem to be as fun as the xmaxx. My opinion.

Doesn't sound particularly fun to drive. Seems like many of the current gen models are less fun and/or less durable than previous ones. Probably not going to work well with premium prices.
Why take a truggy on 20ft jumps and wonder why the wing breaks lol? It’s built for the complete opposite, use an X-Maxx.
I've never had a wing break from landing on the wheels on any RC car...

For $2100aud I'm really starting to dislike this truck. I was very keen on it, but now I'm not so sure. I like the look of it and that it exists to compete with the 8S Kraton, but after the body comes off and I see it driving, I don't know, I'm not sold on it. No adjustability for the batteries, can't shift weight bias to negate nose heavy attitude, chassis is lower than the diffs (WTF 🤦🏼♂️), proprietary servo mounts and the rear wing broke off for no reason. I wanted to buy one for review and I wanted to like this truck, but the more I see of it, the less I want it. Especially when it costs so much here...

There's a good amount of room forward/back for the batteries, maybe 4-5cm, I run shorter race packs. The skidplate lower than the diffs is shocking, but Traxxas likes to run their LCG chassis SUPER low. Rear wing broke in the first video on a non-crash, so that was surprising. Hopefully just a fluke. At the end of the day, it's a wide, LCG X-Maxx with more road-biased tires.
I'm actually not a big fan of large scale, you need really big spaces to let them stretch their legs, and they do so much damage to dirt jumps and stuff, they're kind of a hazard honestly... you can see the track getting chewed up in the short time I ran the truck. Hit me up on FB if you want more of my opinion on the truck.
Again, traxxas has gone the way of RedCat. I remember when RedCat first came on the scene and all the hobbyist said that RedCat was garbage....well low and behold, traxxas is copying RedCat.

The engineers at traxxas still are fucked they did not put the rpm hub carriers in this truck, so plan on RPM to fix this obvious problem of bearing seals popping out, why did they not correct the design, can someone get them to upgrade it like they did to the X MAXX
