"I just love the Chicago state flag" One bite, everyone knows Dave thinks Chicago is a state.
So... There isn't an HBCU named Chicago State University?
I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, but i guess it was just Dave being Dave.
There’s also Cleveland State University and cleveland is not a state lol
@@DietCornFlakes
I googled it, and i was right. Chi state is an HBCU.
I don't know if that was a state flag, a city flag or CSU flag, but there *is* a "Chicago State."
@@frankrosemeck9898 city flag
@@frankrosemeck9898 Dave was talking about loving the city of Chicago's flag, but said Chicago state cus like you said it's Dave being oblivious to everything in the world like he usually is
“There’s nobody in there” … immediately someone walks out
That place had a steady stream of people going in and out.
lol
Most people order it for delivery lol
5 people walk out, 6 walk in within the time he’s talking.
😂
Dave "There's no one in there" - Watches numerous people literally walk OUT of there. Love the reviews.
The second he said that a lady walked out 🤣
Also delivery lol
@@michelle7890 ok
As someone who grew up eating Phil’s when they were in halsted. Let me just say no one eats inside. It’s all take out and delivery!
The middle is absolutely delicious
One bite, everyone knows even Dave can't mess up a name like Phil's.
You beat me to my comment.
But he redeemed himself - f'ed it up when he tried again at Roseangela's.
😂
Never underestimate Prez’s ability to botch a name
He’s gonna be calling it Pete’s by next video
@@JustAwesomee Guaranteed!
45 minutes
"There's no one in there"
As people in the background walk in and out
Exactly what I was thinking lol. If they say 45min, and they got a manager in there, it ain't because they just want to sit around.
Like 6 different people, I guess all pick up orders.
Dave has a distinct tell. When he really likes a pizza, he tilts his head to the left! Does it every time! One bite, love these reviews!
Yer left.... His right😎
@@erichawes304 My right, his left Eric.
bad pizza face! 🤣🤣
One bite everybody knows nobody is in there, then someone else leaves 5 seconds later
People coming and going like crazy.
i just said the same thing lol. theres like 5 families that left and 6 others that went in, in the span of 4 minutes. "nobody"
It's more of a take out place than dine in, there's no table service and more importantly in Chicago, no bar.
The, "WIND!" Made me laugh like a maniac. It's like he's got dementia. 😂😂
"Rosajizz" One bite, errbody knows the rules.
Dave literally has no brain. He says there's no one in there, mere seconds before a lady walks out. He sux hard again.
😅
I was wondering if anyone else heard that name too…
Phil's definitely deserves an 8 or higher
Best pizza in the city imo.
@@anthonyramos4416 you're absolutely correct
2 years late but how would you say it compares to Vito & Nicks and Pats?
As someone who's never cared for crust, I'd be delighted to get a middle piece...everybody knows the rules
middle is the best!
Usually the biggest and the cheesiest. Fuck crust! If I want crust I’ll just eat bread
@@steviehandsome4712 kids.. kids ..
From 1 middle guy to another...
I concur.
That's right brother the middle is where it's at,like a chick between her legs 😅
I definitely prefer the state flag of Chicago over the state flag of Illinois
Illinois is my favorite city
ILLINOIS DOES NOT EXIST.
CHICAGO IS A STATE.
DO NOT LET THE DEEP STATE CONVINCE YOU OTHERWISE
"Vick's" is Dave's favorite pizza spot, everybody knows the rules.
Everyone knows that score was fake.. only because he would have gotten hate.
@@TomKaosOfficial u dont like vito and nick?
Michael Vick?
"45 minutes? there's no one in there" *7-10 pizzas come out the door within the **4:30** minute video*
Everybody knows Dave wakes up every morning and calls Silvana 101 different names before he gets it right
Mulva 😦
I doubt he cares that much about her name
Dave "caring is sharing" Portnoy donating his pizza every time he's in Chicago lol
I always wonder what happens to the rest of the pizza? hate to think it ends up in the garbage!
"45 minutes, theres nobody in there", as people walking out with carry out
Been eating Phils since the 1970's, the flavor and taste has never wavered, great pizza. The parents would order it every Friday or Saturday night, that and a few cans of RC. Good times, great memories.
Loved RC. Don’t see it very much any more but I’m pretty sure its still around. Think they still can it in Wadsworth.
Go to visit my family and every time gotta get sun phils
My 70’s places are all closed. Likely Pizza Hut and dominos priced them out of business by the late 80’s. You’re lucky!
We used to pick up Phils at the Oak Lawn location whenever I’d be town visiting my grandparents. Amazing stuff
Every neighborhood in Chicago has their go-to pizza place
Yeah, but they're not all the same. I grew up in Little Village, and nothing compares to Phil's or Falcos pizza.
@@anthonyramos4416 Phil's on 35th. Street and Falcos on Archer?
@@candid1377 yeah.
@@anthonyramos4416 2 hidden gems for sure....generally if someone's not from the area or they didn't hear about those places...they probably just wouldn't know what they're missing. I grew up on Phils.
Dave really said "Chicago STATE flag" lmaoooooo
Yes if you look closely at 0:50 under the US flag there's other flag not in the wind
. It's the state flag.
@@aresm0sca except Chicago isn't a state
@@Malace629 yeah true I thought he meant the US flag isn't a state flag by not seeing the one under it 😝👍
@@aresm0sca That's the Chicago city flag under the U.S. flag
“No one is in there” as multiple people walk out with pizza
Is nobody going to mention the absolute baddie that Dave is gonna rail that was shown at the end
Chicago tavern style. Thin and super crispy. It's my favorite style and I love it with only green olives as a topping and then put on fresh cracked pepper and drizzle extra virgin olive oil
"No one in there" Like 20 people walking in and out throughout the video.
Agreed, Chicago Deep dish is good stuff. I love NY too, but if I'm in Chi Town I want some f'n Cheese Casserole.
Phil’s Pizza is my favorite in Chicago.
Nice job Prez as per usual. Spider's been doing a great job for you on the camera btw. Nice perspective shot looking down the sidewalk in the background.
Dude in the car "sharing is caring"
Pres: "Karen is Sharon"
Hahahaha
I don't always watch pizza review videos, but when I do --- it's One Bite.
I knew a rookie score was coming at the end!
Sharing is caring, everybody knows the rules.
Karen is Sharron
As a kid, I loved the middle piece. All toppings no crust. Now that I'm an astute gentleman, my standards are that of El Presidente's.
If your from Chicago the middle squares are gold...all cheese for the win.
Davey doesn’t understand how people fight over those middle squares… lol it’s cute
My moms favorites. I usually do two crust one middle.
Middle is definitely the best on a party pizza
@@Appaddict01 yes 2-1 ratio is proper. Take only middle and you’re a dick 😂
It's either middle or the small triangles for me.
For nobody being in there, the in and out traffic was hoppin.
Waiting for Prez to mispronounce “Phil’s”
Phil's pizza is in Bridgeport. My wife's family was born and raised there, and we ordered Phil's often. I love a thin crust pizza, but I also agree with Dave, deep dish pizza is delicious. When in Brodgeport you could visit Ricobenes on 26th street and/or Connie's on Archer Ave. 3 great pizza joints in one neighborhood. Thanks for visiting Chicago, Dave!
Phils is not the same
Haven't been to Connie's since early 90's. Buddy was ticket manager for White Sox. We went there a few times. Still good?
@@uncleremus7380 I have not been to Connie's since 2008. It had changed by then since the 90s. I'm sure the stuffed pizza is still great and any of their pastas.
@Tony Blanco thanks, I go to pizza joints for pie, wife will get pasta tho. Lol
Wow...Pres keeping ridiculously real on this one. Good review Mr.Dave.
Missed your reviews, over the Sabbath/ Jewish holidays!!! Happy Healthy New Year!!!
Phil’s is freaking GOLD!
Yeah I’m headed back to Chicago in 4 weeks. Love South Florida but I need my Food Fix.
Gotta love the state of Chicago!
"There's nobody in there."
**Someone walks out immediately**
"waiting for that good Chicago Score. Still waitin".
He should revisit Armands, but the Elmhurst location. It'd be interesting to see a review of Jimmy's Pizza Cafe
“Wind!”
The pizza middle is best part my guy
That pizza looks so good. I could just about roll over here and croak. Really nice video (seriously) !
There's that random lady he pulled off the street for the one bite frozen taste test again. One bite everybody knows Debbie is going to eventually figure it out. 🗡
He always goes for the bone of a square cut pizza, everyone knows the middle squares of tavern pizza are the best. Awesome he reviewed a Bridgeport pizza place. Last weeks Chicago PD show had a scene by the garage on 31st and Lithuanica.
Sooooo...
I love Phil's! And the middle is my favorite!!
One bite, everybody knows…Dave said 45 minute wait with no one in there! But we all watching people stream in and out that door behind him.
Go to d’agostinio’s while in Chicago.
Go to a neighborhood in the northwest suburbs called Morton's Grove. Get Pequod's and get Burt's Place. They're a few blocks from one another. Both amazing pan pizza pies with a linked history that goes back to the 70's. Burt's Place was a favorite of Anthony Bourdain -- check out the vid on CZcams.
Pan pizza is a subset of deep dish, but more caramelized and crackery, and contains the traditional dough-sauce-cheese layering (instead of dough-cheese-sauce, like deep dish.) There are a few decent tavern-style pies like this one you tried here, but you've already tried the best in Vito and Nick's. I think you might enjoy pan style...I'm an east coast transplant and Pequod's is my favorite out here.
This dude is just going to all the best pizza places that Chicago has to offer lol
“45 mins there’s no one in there”…. As many many people go in and out 🤣
From now on yelling the word Wind when a breeze comes through, everybody knows the rules
12 people walked out in four minutes, everyone knows nobody was in there.
Freddie’s margarita pizza. In Cicero. By far the best. I worked at Turano bakery for years. I used to bring their family to Freddie’s when they came in from the old country. They said Freddie’s was better than home!!!!
Phil's Pizza 🍕 in Bridgeport is the best!!!!
you guys should hit up home run inn, the original one on 31st!
2:10 ‘Wind!’. I dunno why I laughed so much.
Gotta try Jimmy’s pizza cafe on foster, they open at 5, best cheese slice
I was just chicago morning news for biking around chicagk land to review every pizza! I couldve showed you some the best spots to go!
Oh Davy boy, the pies, the pies are calling!!!
Surprised he didn’t call the place “files”
loll that dude at the end "caring is sharing"
Absolutely insane. One, idk what a circle pizza is cut into squares but 2, the outer crust is the worst part of a pizza. Absolutely would be delighted for the middle piece. I would go straight for it
The middle piece is the best!! Imo
One Windy City, everybody knows Dave’s about to lose that pie!
one bite, no carjacking this time. chicago im shook!
One live shooting coming soon 😂
"Chicago State Flag"
If your city or state has a great flag people will out it on everything
"If you get stuck with the middle, you got fucked" Just one bite, get to the birthday party on time, you know the rules 🍕
I remember Phil's was on 35th and Halsted,mo ed 100 miles south of there in 2001 but had their Pizza in 2017, still amazing! Idk if Tony M is still an owner or his son Tony bit either way, amazing pizza.
Every pizza outside of NY/Jersey/New Haven gets a +1 these days, everybody knows the rules.
Deep dish is for tourists. Square cut, thin crust tavern style is the real deal to us natives.
One bite only
-proceeds to eat like three slices
Dave cracks me up.
Dave, That’s Chicago “City” Flag!
Good olé Bridgeport!
Phil's Pizza reminded me of a small Pizza place called Joe's in Minonk il. The owner is really nice (family is Italian) and his Pizza is so good. I have been way to many Pizza joints here in Illinois but Joes is a hidden Gem. Just wish I didn't have to drive a hour for his pizza.
Dave. You gotta stop at cranky pats in Neenah WI! Thanks for the great videos!!
I love that you reviewed my favorite pizza place. Honestly I have never liked cheese pizza and for that reason your views don't really apply to my palate. If you were to try the Phil's special which is sausage onion green pepper mushroom, I think you would love it. Even though I don't like mushroom I love their special. My favorite is just the sausage onion green pepper. Of all pizzas in all of Chicago I feel that this place has the best pizza for my taste.
Phil's Oak Lawn is my favorite
1:10 That Jabroni was born on Chicago's Dirty South Side, everybody knows the rules....
That WSD clip omfggggg 😂😂😂😂☠️☠️☠️🤯🤯
"Thats a process getting it off!"
That's what she said....
"There's NOBODY in there!".... People going in and out the whole video!
This one looks great for sure lol
One bite… Dave almost got capped
Why?!? Does he keep grabbing that corner triangle piece. It’s literally the worst one. Chicago people eat those as a last resort.
PS - Just rip a hole in the top of the paper. No one completely pulls out the pizza. My Moms favorites were always the middle slices.
You gotta try Sugondese. Definitely your style!
2:20 "There's nobody in there"... woman walks out with her order! lol
"Nobody was in there..." People constantly walking out the entire episode...
Dave forgot to shout-out his own frozen pizza release today, everyone knows the rules
I love the middle pieces. Will burn your finger tips off but so saucy and cheesey. Delicious
Good 👍🏻 Review Dave !!!
Hey Dave look further down the block the way you were facing.?SOX PARK!!
“Wind”
Lol fking 💀😂
Chicago vibes at the end
"Also they said 45 minutes, there's nobody in there". 10 people come and go in this 4 minute video lol Dave is a clown
What’s your favorite pizza place in CO?
