    I`d like to use Abaqus. because I hear the linear and nonlinear mechanical analysis function is very strong

    • @Enterfea
      @Enterfea  Před 5 lety

      Hey! Sure - Abaqus is super cool! I used it for my Ph.D. It's not that it has more functions that I would "normally" used, but I get the feeling that the "normal ones" just work better when it comes to convergence etc. This is really a nice piece of software.
      Not to mention that I could see the outcomes "in real time" as the analysis progressed (I didn't have to wait for it to finish).
      Noting is perfect of course - setting imperfections from previous analysis is pretty frustrating (well... at least it was, maybe they have changed something since I was using the soft!).
      All in all, Abaqus is great - but the commercial license is also insanely expensive - this is what stopped me from considering it for my company.

    Hi
    I'm looking for an FEA software which has user friendly pre and post processing
    And ability to handle and mesh complex gemoetries which curvatures.
    Can you please suggest one

    • @Enterfea
      @Enterfea  Před 8 měsíci

      What is and is not "user friendly" heavily depends on personal preference I think. I remember that there were times when Femap irritated me non-stop, and now I really like it... so would that count as user-friendly? I don't know to be honest.
      That said, if you want to mesh complex 2D shapes (I mean, made form plate/shell elements) I definitely recommend Femap - I think it has one of the cooler meshers, with an awesome meshing toolbox that really allows you to control your mesh.
      For 3D elements, Femap isn't great I'm sure there are much better choices out there, but I rarely to such models, so I can't really recommend anything specific...

    What is in your opinion the best software for cfd specifically fluid structure interaction?

    • @Enterfea
      @Enterfea  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey Cas! In all honesty, I have no idea. I don't run CFD at all, and I have no experience with that. All I can say is that I've heard that OpenFOAM is nice... but I have no way to verify that.
      Good luck with searching!

    What do you think is the best software for creating and analysing the properties of very uncommon materials (such as graphene and aerogel)

    • @Enterfea
      @Enterfea  Před 4 lety

      Hey! Oh - wow. Honestly, I never tried such a thing :( My guess (and it is a guess!) would be Abaqus... but don't take me too seriously on this. I think your best bet would be to find someone who does such things and ask them... but how to find someone like that - I'm afraid I have no idea :(
      Good luck with your search!

    Hii will they work for windows 8.1 ☺ could you suggest me a FEA software which will work for windows 8.1..

    • @Enterfea
      @Enterfea  Před 3 lety

      Hey Tanu! To be fair, I never used Windows 8... I switched from Windows 7 to Widows 10, but all of those would work for Windows 7 so I don't think you will run into any issues. You can always ark your local reseller - I'm sure that whichever soft you will choose folks selling it will be more than happy to help you with that (but as I said, I do not think you will run into trouble!). All the best!

    • @Enterfea
      @Enterfea  Před 3 lety +1

      @@Data_In_real_world that is almost impossible to believe. I would think that Ansys should work with Windows 8... but maybe there are limitations I'm unaware of (?)

    Thanks! Interesting and logical presentation. Do you think there are any open source FEM sw that is relevant and/or popular for industry? (as OpenFOAM is for CFD). What kind of imporvements (if any) would you like to see in civil FEM SW?

    • @Enterfea
      @Enterfea  Před 5 lety

      Hey Paul!
      I'm glad that you like the video. When it comes to open source I think that code_aster would be the choice (but the French manual... hard stuff).
      As for Civil FEM I'm not a user. I saw a demo once, I even did like 30min of clicking on my own... but the interface and the "civil engineering possibilities" were annoying if I remember. The solver isn't bad but the "design according to codes" options could be better... that all being said it was like 2 years ago and I'm sure you guys are working on it on the clock - so who knows where the soft is now :)
      All the best
      Ł

    Hey, great presentation, Could you tell me. Which software is best for nonlinear,Fea,(plastic products)..i.e. Marc,abaqus. Or any other..

    • @Enterfea
      @Enterfea  Před 4 lety

      Ugh... I don't know which one is the best... I'm not even sure if anyone knows (maybe apart from the Vendors :) ). I think the best way is to reach out to people in your industry, and ask what software do they use. As even if it is not the best but just "good enough" using the most popular software in your industry brings a lot of business opportunities :)
