On this day in 1961 {September 5th} Fats Domino's "Let The Four Winds Blow" peaked at #2 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, for the week it was at #2, the #1 record for that week was "My True Story" by the Jive Five... "Let The Four Winds Blow" was his tenth and last record to peak at #2 on the R&B Singles, his first #2 record was eleven years earlier, "The Fat Man", it reached the runner-up spot for one week on March 18th, 1950... Between 1950 and 1964 the New Orleans native had sixty records on the Hot R&B Singles chart, thirty eight made the Top 10 with nine reaching #1... Fats Domino, born Antoine Domino Jr., passed away at the age of 89 on October 24th, 2017... May he R.I.P. Personal note: I became a rock 'n roller in 1955 when I was 10 years old, and in the late 1950s I had five idols, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino, and Elvis... And now, only Richard remains, Richard Wayne Penniman celebrated his 87th birthday last month on December 5th, 2019...
This get a better grade than I myself can ever imagine, I like it more than I did when it was Top 40. I'm into Fats more than I was in school but always had a few I favored by the fat man. My favorites are I'm Gonna be a Big Wheel Someday & Yes It's Me & I'm In Love Again.....Billboards Magazine's favorite was Blueberry Hill cause the adults had more to do with the Top 40 back when, the only artist we could plug was Elvis as we didn't have the $ to buy all 'em good records made 4 teeners.
Just great., wonderful. Dodgy haircut, but really great, such a wonderful, warm, rocking, uniquely identifiable sound. Fortunate to see him twice (London`s Royal Albert Hall/Hammersmith Odeon) - truly a privilege
What a rocker, what a beat and what soothing lyrics...the best way to describe this shiner by Fats. I still question who was the bigger man on the charts back in the doowop era, was it Fats or was it that Chuck Berry guy...i like 'em both but personally I would have to give the fatman the first nod. Thx4 postin'
@Ezdduf4kuZ Both are great but Chuck Berry is the true king of Rock-n-Roll. He wrote every song he ever sang. Very impressive songwriter. Only songwriting team Lieber & Stoller wrote more Rock-n-Roll songs in the 50s. But they weren't performers. Chuck Berry was.
See him plays and moves with his piano is wonderful !
Still enjoying his music all these years later. He was a great musician and entertainer, a trailblazer in so many ways, and a good soul. RIP Fats.
I hope Fats Domino lives forever, my late brother John was a great fan and he taught me to appreciate Fats, Little Richard and Louis Armstrong
RIP Fats Domino ! You are a true rock'n roll legend ! From Strasbourg, France.
So sad to hear the news of the passing of Fats Domino, you made great happy music, see you up on Blueberry Hill in the sky

My favorite from Fats! I really liked his music! A shame I wasnt born in the 40's and 50's. This is great soul.
This is one of his best! Always makes me so happy!!
That's so true man
One of the best songs ever made.

From the good old happy days...miss it
the beat, the beat, the beat, its what rockin roll is all about! long live the fat man
Great job of inserting the 60's scenes of the dancers.
He's so happy when he sings his music, and that's what makes him the greatest to listen too...lol.
Nice guy, lovely music, pure R&R.
Excelent,imi place grozav.❤
Fats is fantastic. I've been researching old jams with the gold sound.
Such a true legend.Amazing that this guy is still with us. Being overweight didn't seem to have hurt him one bit.
Compared to many nowadays, he was positively thin!
My grandpa loves this song. It's a song he always sings to me =]
used to dance to that song..always loved it ;)
i love his voice!
This is on one of my late mother's 45 records which I've worn out!! The four winds blow!!

Fats, along with Chuck Berry and Little Richard, created rock n roll.
Preach that truth!
tenor saxs together make for a great sound
Great song and qualety!
spitzenmäßiger VD-Mix --> BRAVO!
Bei 1:03 ist kurz der großartige Jackie Wilson zu sehen...:-)
Bei 1:11 ein gewisser Elvis...:-)
