Me too. I think it's because the fear will really kick in when I'm *on* those heights. Like when I myself experience going to a high place, I'll get terrified and out of breath, and imagining all the bad things that could happen, etc, but when I just see images of them, to me they're just really disturbing yet interesting.
I don't know what's scarier. The fact that people build these buildings or that the cameraman went on top of these buildings. Edit: also imagine a bird with this phobia.
you literally cant get out of that awkwardly. move the left foot and the skateboard will go zooming down to the ground, the sudden loss of balance probably getting the person to fall. move the right foot and the skateboard will lift its front up into the air which is also another loss of balance/...
I have Acrophobia. I don't fear the fall of death, as I am not afraid of (quickly) dying. Rather, I am afraid of the feeling of falling downward for a long time and possibly surviving in critical condition, and slowly dying from the injuries. I am also afraid of falling from those heights in general, and I don't know why. I also fear that no one will save me and that my family & friends would be full of grief.

Just yesterday I got scared on a rock wall cause I thought I was “too high” even though it was just 11-ish feet off the ground. I also thought it was called “aerophobia” because you’re in the air, but that’s good to know what it’s really called.
late but just seeing the drop down there. i am filled with intense sheer panic and my legs start shaking as if im about to collapse and shivers are sent down my spine.
I remember going on a roller coaster that hung upside down, I can confirm this is my exact thoughts remembering it. Btw I was having a bad day today id love it if you hearted or commented! 🙂
I don't find the second picture to be too scary. The fact that the pov isn't attached to a ground or anything makes it feel like the picture was taken from a flying drone or the like. It doesn't feel like you're there. There's also a lack of nearby objects to give a sense of scale and distance, unlike the rest of the pictures.
I have Acrophobia, for those that thinks that reason for fear of height is because falling towards death is correct but let me tell you more in depth. What's really makes it scary is that you know, you can't do anything you know the inevitable death and You can't do anything to avoid it. You're going to keep falling and falling and what awaits you is death and even if you survive, your everything in your body will be broken and not only you experience a fall that you are powerless to do anything. in the end you have a painful death
Going up nice and all but going down, that's a bit different. If it's steep or narrow going down, I'm hanging on for dear life. If there's room to move around, it's slightly like vertigo.
{ T W for stuff in this story! } I think I'm starting to overcome this fear - one time recently I had a dream I was in a plane, and I could wish for anything I want if I asked the pilot. so, I needed to jump out without a parachute (FOR A REASON I COULDNT REMEMBER) but I didn't want to die, so I asked for a wish to be able to survive the fall, and I jumped out and when I hit the ground, the dream didn't end out of fear, I woke up shortly after the fall, I had survived perfectly well in the dream. I think this is the sign that I'm overcoming it.
The only time I'm afraid of heights is when I think there's a high chance of me falling. Like I can handle plane's and being up on higher floor in buildings but I can't handle things like the curved floors of the St. Louis arch or that tall tower in Vegas with the carnival rides on it
Weird question, but can you list the songs that were used in this video? I enjoyed some of them, and recognize a few, and want to know the names so I can search them myself.
Definition of acrophobia from merriam-webster: abnormal dread of being in a high place or fear of heights Not sure where you got this info but it’s not true lol
Omg I literally had a dream about being in a see-through glass tube that was really really Hugh above a city. And the glass was really thin but there was no where else to walk just on the glass. AAAAAAAA
These are way less scary than in try not to get anxiety challenges, where there are people at these kinds of places standing on a 2x2 foot platform on top of a skyscraper with no parachutes or safety equipment whatsoever EDIT: the moment I hit play after writing this comment, I see an image like that.
Everyone is born with this, except adrenaline addicts. I wouldn't jump from such spaces or look at them, but sometimes I like to go on very high spaces to see the view.

It's interesting how one person can be scared of heights, while another person loves heights just for adrenaline.

i would be there if i was in some sort of lift, but if i’m like there with no barriers then i would be terrified

That bird would have to be a part of the flightless birds then
The birds would have a heart attack as soon they were born
the cameraman just has creative mode on.
That would be a chicken.

Fear of security cameras is pretty rational, e.g the feeling of being watched
