I use big electrical cap screws, to screw onto the caulk tube. Works.

Hey dude, I really love your videos. I bought a 95 Astro a week ago and I plan to restore it just as you did. Mine is in a similar condition as yours was, so I'll be using your videos as instructions. Thanks man!

I have the Dutch doors in my Astro. I had to create a Damn between the same two seams that you did. I keeps the water out. Good job.

Chris, WOW. Thank you SO MUCH!! I finally don't have water in my living space for the first time in two years, and after doing only the fix along the bottom. SO happy 😊
Question about the fix along the top: is there a reason you went with the 3M product vs. the same caulk you used along the bottom? I ask because the 3M is crazy gooey and tricky to work with, and I found the same caulk I used for the bottom in black, so I thought I might try it along the top too

Both caulk tubes were good, as all you had to do, was poke a hole, deep into the nozzle tube, and push and pull the pointed screw driver out, until you see fresh caulk. Never force the plunger into a tube, or the round pusher will bend or break. Insure the exit hole is open. Duh.

I have the same issue with leaks on right back door. I understand all the things you did. Question i have, did u dry it out first? How do u prevent mold and rust in there if its still wet? I kniw you ripped everything out and rubberized tte floor before, does this stop the mold, rust then? Very new, learning.

Hey I’ve recently acquired an Astro van, but the gear shifter is broken and loose and the cable is still connected. I’m not sure how to take apart that steering column to get in there and fix it. Any advice?

I still have an issue with water but not as much as I had before . It's still there on the driver side back door . It's so annoying. I hoping the roof rack will stop it as it will hang over about 2 to 4 cm

Roof rack may help. I would investigate a bit more though

Hey buddy, good video. I have a question for you, can you pretty much turn any Astro van into all wheel drive? You may have already made a video like this but I can't see it

I have lightly looked into it but it will be a lot of work. Your best bet would be finding a wrecked one and swapping out the parts. Youll need all the front suspension, computer, transmission, and, i think, the subframe. I could be wrong about the subframe, but it would be a lot of work no way around it. I think the best option would be selling your current van, save up money and buy an AWD version.

Sounds like the best option for me too

@@ImChrisDeDeckerI agree with Chris. Find an AWD version. Did hear that they aren't good with AWD, but they can be interchange with S10/Blazer since they have identical engine and transmission. Videos posted here on CZcams for AWD to 4WD conversions. Good luck on the search and project. Best bet is to find the 95-05 Astro or Safari.

I would imagine you need to put new door pins in it the door pins are made to wear out not the door hope that helps you I've had that problem before
