GrungeKid I have a friend whos Girlfriend worked for a music publication. He says Hoon was the “sweetest” person. So yes he was very nice man. Shame he went so early
First concert I ever went to was Guns n Roses. Blind Melon opened for them. They weren't that big in my town yet. While GNR was playing I had to pee. Literally ran into (literally meaning I was a bowling ball and they were the pins) the entire band while walking to the bathroom...most embarrassing thing for a 15 year old girl...Shannon and Chris held my arms and asked if I was ok.

I believe I’ve seen a lot of guitar teachers/enthusiasts. Bar far your tone, your way of teaching is like the Neil degrasse Tyson to astronomy. Every time I look up a new song and get your opening “hi it’s Marty” I am like “hi Marty” like a dork. Keep teaching. Never stop. Thank you for your time
Well thanks for teaching me parts of the song. As a new player, I was hoping to learn the song in it's entirety. I guess Marty is more for established players. I did get some of it to help build my confidence but I need more. I'll keep searching.

Marty I have to let you know I think you're the best teacher you taught me my very first song she talks to angels by the black crows that was 4 yrs ago now I can play it all the way through in regular guitar I have been playing by ear now for 3 years but if I think I'm off a chord I always look you up and you always set me straight I think you are great I have 1 song I can't figure out I wanted to ask if maybe you would do it please it's black water by the doobie brothers I have no doubt I can learn it from you Thank you many blessings I always recommend you to beginners cause you're the best

you gotta do some homework boy... Blind Mellon was one of the more under-rated, yet incredibly tallented groups of the 90's... unfortunately Shannon Hoon had a taste for the smack and left us early... what a loss... he was a troubled soul, but wrote some beautiful songs.

Hey mate how are you going. Love your videos im learning heaps from you. Picked up a guitar for the first time in my life at the beginning of this year im 39 years old and I don't know why I've waited this long to start playing I'm absolutely loving it. But there is a down side i have had carpul tunnel surgery done on both my hands 12 months ago and I am finding myself struggling a little bit with pain and not being able to stretch my fingers across the fret board very easily. Do you have any suggestions for exercises that may help me get my hands working better .regards brett
