    In rural areas some people own huge pieces of fertile land. It is interesting that these land rhetoric parties are not mobilizing communities to make good use of that land but obsessed with the land that is not in our hands!

    I truly believe what he says. Cancel ministerial appointments. Plus most of them are by law pensioners already but won’t retire. Scrap those posts and dispatch the young supporting employees of those ministers be placed elsewhere. It’s all crazy in government. Duplication of posts , failing healthcare, corrupt policing . Military incompetency, kore ke

    I'm so ashamed to say this, it's rare for me to connect with some guests on South African podcast platforms in general but this one went straight to my heart. There appears to be an air of shallowness or mental instability lurking somewhere within these conversations with particular emphasis on the land, along with a de-contextualised understanding of current events that makes us look crazy to the rest of the world. This wasn't disjointed, impractical nor unreasonable.
    I'm happy to say this is one of my favourite interviews conducted that I've seen in the S.A podcast scene!

    The issue with land boils down to this: no one is born with land. Throughout history, land has always been in the hands of the courageous. If you couldn't defend it, you lost it. Land has consistently shifted up the power hierarchy, from the vulnerable to the powerful, worldwide. Even in many African tribes, those who possess large swathes of land are the ones who conquered numerous others. If you haven't fought and secured your land in the battleground during the state of nature, you can't just expect to claim it in a democratic society. No one will hand you land on a silver platter. Instead of negotiating with the apartheid government, they should have gone to the battlefield and fought for what they claim to be theirs.

    • @richardohaletse7396
      @richardohaletse7396 Před 3 měsíci

      I hear you. So you're saying those who are preaching land redistribution should do land grabs by force?

    • @shadetlou8838
      @shadetlou8838 Před 3 měsíci

      I'm saying that during apartheid, they should have seized the land rather than entering into negotiations. Why push for land redistribution when many illegal African immigrants in South Africa claim to own land in their home countries? Additionally, can a government that's been ineffective in fighting crime, corruption, running schools, maintaining healthcare, and building infrastructure be trusted to redistribute land for the people's benefit rather than their own?

  • @cosmic_sunflower3864
    @cosmic_sunflower3864 Před 4 měsíci +6

    While we have this conversation can we discuss and work on at least 2 of the things I'll list below because after land is taken, it will be war time and regular south Africans are not prepared
    1) Controlling a water source and food production/processesing
    2) Military training, which includes physical, strategy, weapons and explosives, etc
    Fine land can be taken. Are you, we, prepared to fight to the death to keep it. Are we prepared to do everything ourselves render services the government would normally provide to it's citizens because once we have the land we can't be crying talking about we need electricity, infrastructure, clinics if we aren't prepared to build and run those ourselves

    It’s wild, did those parties get themselves to Parliament? Were they not voted for by people? South Africa has its share of problems but in the whole continent of Africa it has the freest & fairest elections and relatively robust & free media space even the public broadcaster is relatively independent covering opposition programs and negative stories about ruling party. No one is being beaten up or killed to vote a certain way. Why are the people not voting for you the ‘bold’ ones? Could it be they don’t buy into the rhetoric?

    • @richardohaletse7396

      Voters in South Africa is mostly influenced by the media narratives, they vote for parties which have more media airtime & footprint & with large campaign budgets, food parcel donations, etc. The average voter is not well vested in politics, land issues, economics. They just want to eat & survive at this point so such parties are nowhere to be seen & they have little following and not much sponsors because of their uncharismatic leaders. On the other hand EFF preaches the same land matter and they've been growing.
