John Sheehan inducted into the “Irish hands of fame”. Finally a living member of the Dubliners getting the recognition they truly all deserved. It truly will be the end of an era (to which we will never see again) once he’s reunited with the Dubliners again!

Someone say that Luke Kelly was the soul of the Dubliners. It's right but John Sheahan was the spirit of them with Ronnie Drew. I like all of them!!!

Absolutely right I just said that last night. Not many of these famous Irish folk singers had a fiddler like John!!! John means God's grace in Hebrew and he sure plays God's grace that's for sure.

The reel after "The Four Poster Bed" is called "Colonel Rodney".
Very good playing, but I wouldn't be brave enough to tap the bow on the belly of my fiddle :)

Saw them in Oslo in 1996, at Rockefeller. They played this wedding march, but in a more lively, irish way. It had improved in my opinion.

CORRECTION : This is not a traditonad wedding march in Norway. Usually it is "Lohengrin" by Richard Wagner. Besides, this melody is not a march. It is not 3/4 stroke.

Not only was Ciarán Bourke a founding member of the Dubliners, at this point in 1980, he was still officially a part of the band. You should change your info to reflect that.

Yes sorry, the information provided wasn't very clear and might have come across as disrespectful to other former members of the band. I've now changed it. Thanks for pointing it out.

+Tony Cal I dont think it comes across as disrespectful, but I just think that people who make music this good deserve their due recognition. Especially seeing as how, in my view, Ciarán sings some of the best songs. Preab San Ol, Peigín Leitir Móir, Drink It Up Men, Henry Joy etc.
