Man, one thing I have learned from this channel is that there is a lot more , actually an awfully lot more that goes on aboard such a ship than I could have ever imagined. I guess I always figured it was kind of like trucking where they pick up a load and deliver it and job done , but it is far from that. Thank You for sharing these videos and enlightening the rest of Us about Life and work aboard a ship. God Bless You & Your crew , here s to a safe , happy , and productive 2022.

It's a bit like flying cargo internationally. You stay on the aircraft for sometimes a day or more, depending on the cargo, destination, time of flight, and the aircraft configuration. It's just... waaaay longer on a ship.

And it's easy to be a little down, when you're so far from home, and family, especially during the holiday season.
But what I see in your videos that really makes me happy, is to see that the crew is, for all their differences or where they're from, they ARE a family!

Great video, Chief! Retired Bosun here, a veteran of probably 50 at-sea Christmas and New Years parties. Now, I will never have to celebrate at sea again, cause I get to be home with wife and family and friends. Do I miss celebrating at sea? NOT A BIT! Although, sometimes, yeah, there are some good memories, I have to admit.
Love your videos! Keep them coming! I really feel for you guys with all the covid crap these days. I had to go to my union hall a few months ago to let them know I am still alive and please keep sending my pension check every month... A lot of our guys are stuck on ships, cant get relief, and a lot of our guys stuck ashore, can't get on a ship to make some money. It's rough times we live in, and bad times for us all usually means worse times for the guys who are still going to sea. Best to you, your family, and your shipmates in these difficult times.

Everything in the store was high-quality, top-of-the-line merchandise AND exactly what you want too, packed together. I've only seen few stores like it. Whatta concept - instant Christmas shopping for everybody, one stop. I'd buy their whole stock for a good price. Plus what a joy year round ta see what that top buyer can scour up shoreside and pick up for everybody since last time, next time. I work on an ambulance. Missed Christmas because I was working too. We just moved Christmas. It’s part of the job, just like yours. People depend on all of us.

I was on an inland towboat, the Boat stores were a great treat when we could go on board... Sometimes we could place an order a get certain items, a great service these people provided.. Wickliffe,KY boat store was best.... At a time before Cellphone internet, just a week old newspaper was a blessing... Thanks to the lockmen to throw down a newspaper....

This was a joyful video. It made my annoyings at home smaller. Even it was very irritating, it suddenly become very small, compared to not being able to celebrate Christmas with family and not even on the actual day.

Happy new year Chief. Another great VLOG, it's so good to see the true spirit of you and the crew, given the need to put cargo ops before your celebrations. Looking forward to your next posting. Hope you get home to your family soon. ✋😎👍

I have spent a lot of time on varied international cargo ships doing radar and other technical installations while under way. They consisted of various crews from all over the world. By far the nicest people I have met and worked with were the Philippine crews.
