Looks incredible! We just installed drip irrigation in our 96' high tunnel in MN. That alone helped us be more organized. This is our second season. The first was a rough one. Then for Christmas the cover blew off. We were blessed to have a day in March to put the new cover on. It's all planted as of yesterday (just seeds), so we're ready to rock! May God bless our labor!
Finally got one of those clear photo saver containers for all my seeds and loving it, I can see everything I have in it at a glance without having to dump out or go through a bag or Tupperware just to find seeds that I need.
Your greenhouse is looking amazing. Love the pavers. Such a rustic but clean look to it. Congrats on all your progress so far. Also love you keeping it real killing your seedlings. We've all done it. Keep up the great work!
Didn't realize there was such a learning curve either in a greenhouse. I cooked about 120 seedlings right off the bat because I didn't vent it and it got SUPER hot. Learned, love it now!!

If u live in WY you almost have no choice but to have some sort of green house - in the early days no one lived in that part of the country - the railroad made it were essentials and food from out side that region could be railed in - the rest of the country hasn't the slightest idea of what it's like to live in WY - with one month of summer a yr u really need a green house lol - I would have to work in that region for months at a time so I can compare it to others parts of the country

Cattle panel arches would be awesome for those cucumbers, squash and POLE BEANS. Plant on the side you mentioned fruit trees so not to create shade where not wanted :-)
A fellow CZcamsr, Lumnah Acres in New Hampshire, installed kits that will automatically open the vents at a certain temperature. It seems to work really well for them in their frigid climate. He has a couple videos showing the installation and troubleshooting. (8-2020) They may have a different greenhouse, but vents may be similar. This is looking Great! I appreciate you sharing the journey and all you are learning!
I LOVE your new office space... I mean greenhouse 😜 especially the paver brick pathways... I might have to add a hose to our hoop house pathways when we clear out the hazelnut she'll mulch that's growing little hazelnut trees 🤣
I live in Cody Wyoming and have similar problems you have. Wintes and winds can be wicked. I have been researching green houses. Can you give me an idea of how much you have spent thus far? I realize you have put many "extras" but your work is quite evident.
I would love a greenhouse like that! However, even my outdoor garden has beds that are 2' high so that I don't have to bend over to tend to the plants. I would highly recommend raising your beds. Your back will love you for it.
That greenhouse is awesome, Jill! The pavers look great. 👍 I don't have a greenhouse(yet), just outdoor raised beds. I've been experimenting over the years with irrigation & what I found works best is 1/4" soaker hoses rather than sprinklers or drippers. The hose is inexpensive & easy to replace as necessary. I ran 3/4" PVC hard lines to risers in each bed with simple ball valves to adjust the water flow for different crops, all on a timer so I almost never have to think about watering...well, except to put the system on rain delay since I'm in the PNW, lol.
Hi i live in New Zealand and being middle aged, i built a hydroponic hot house with raised beds, so i didnt have to crawl along to tend beds. I only had a narrow area to build it in. 4meters wide. I made the easterly bed one meter high(36 inches) a walk way one meter wide, then the final bed way 1.2 meters high. I just built a wooden frame and placed plastic trays on top, slanted down wards for the drainage to dribble into plastic guttering to return the water to a tank, sunk into the ground. The growing medium is an equal mix of pearlite and vermiculite. I keep the nutriant at a certain value, that would cover certain veggies. Id check its values once a day, on getting home from work. I installed lighting and a ball float in my tank. I had a submersable pump in the tank. I had the pump on a timer. Spray and drain. I had loads of storage under the frames. Id get concintrated nutriant mixture sent to me, then id thin it down. Then introduce it according to my dayly tests. To maintain the PH and nutriant values. Imgrew heaps of veg. I pumped the nutriant around the house on a ring main, and took bleeder lines off the ring main. Its been running off and on for 20 years. It was a pleasant place to sit on cold rainy days, and as the bones got stiffer, it was still easier than bending over all the time.☺
That looks real nice👍🏼. About 12 out of 15 of our hot peppers came up from seed and less than 6 out of 15 sweet peppers came up. We bought some more sweet pepper seed bc our germination rates were so low. I'll move our seedlings into cups with putting soil once they have more developed leaves to harden off, but also direct sow the remaining April seeds. Lord willing, I'm getting 12 free chickens from a guy I go to school with! 5 Americana hens, 5 Rhode island red hens, 1 RI Red rooster, and 1 momma hen that goes broody. He's got 60 and is trying to get rid of them. I've got lots to look forward to and so do y'all. Take care now

So many projects around here to get done: retaining wall, concrete patio to keep the water away from the house, chicken tractor, new shed/lean-to. Your greenhouse already looks amazing. Hi there, your soil is very dry and so it becomes quite "dead" :-( No living microarganism = no humus building. Another issue if you do not water enough is buildup of salts in your soil. I do recommend to keep the soil moist year around and with soil so dry you first hav to use huge amounts of water to moist it all the way down and even more. Maybe 100 liters / m² minimum. Also some organic matter on top will help. Don't let your soil die.
Automation on the Vents is great! Watch where you put that darn thermostat and you may need to put a small over over it to keep the sun warming it to soon! Learned that from ours! Also, love the Geothermal thought! I need to get to Alliance and see that set up! Question, is there a shade cloth on the top of the roof? I had to add it to mine to keep the temperature from reach the 110 degrees in the summer but of course our Wyoming wind is hard on it!
You have a beautiful green house. We utilize our fans year round to regulate the temperature via circulation of air. Good luck my friend; I’m sure it will be prosperous as you are extremely gifted from God.☺️
Wow I thought I was struggling with spring being slow to come in New England! I don't think I'd survive in Wyoming! Cool greenhouse! It's on my eternal Xmas list to have one too!
Be sure to add a water table to your planting tables. Some seedlings will do better if watered from the bottom. I'm excited for you as you travel this road!!
Could you tell us which specific greenhouse you selected? We get pretty robust canyon winds every morning and evening, and I don't see way to filter for "will withstand a hurricane"
Absolutely beautiful greenhouse nice and big totally jealous. We’re talking about growing tomatoes in the centre and sending twine up to the ceiling. My grandfather used to grow a lot of tomatoes in his small greenhouse however he used steel cable and turnbuckles to tighten it all up running the cable horizontal and vertically to tie his tomato plants to this way he didn’t have to set it up every single season All worrying about it snapping under the weight of the tomato plants. You talked about putting the higher plants along the north wall which makes sense this way it won’t restrict the light to other plants. But me personally I would put a vertical tower system in this would increase the amount of crop you could grow in there massively. Here are other wonderful advantages to it as well. You could have a fully automated system that would feed the plants nutrients and water and recycle the water to reuse again I have never use this system personally but have seen it a couple of times and it almost seems like magic. You’re probably aware of this but I’m just throwing ideas out there hope you don’t mind.

I would have more narrow beds for access and plan for crop rotation . Don't forget a automatic window opener to keep temperature down and screen it to avoid birds and bugs out.
I didn't see any exhaust fans. You will need them, opening the vents alone will not be enough. Automation is awesome! It will save your plants for sure.
So fantastic! I sure hope you get or have some knee pads for kneeling on those bricks! My knees are aching just thinking about it. But it sure looks great and easier to maintain than mulch. So happy for you!!!
I started with a plastic film roof, it lasted about 5 years then i went to a polycarb roof. Im a mechanical engineer, so i built it all myself including the house frame. It gave me a good excuse to buy a nail gun, for the framing.
We don’t have a green house, but we planted our ‘square foot’ garden with narrow walk paths, like you have…..and I wish now that we had made them wider. I got fed up with being attacked by ants that hid in the Bermuda grass, that took over the garden rather quickly…..so we concreted the walkways between the squares. MUCH cleaner, and the grass is easier to deal with (it still comes up between cracks between the squares and the concrete….it’s insidious!). But at least I can see the ants and other pests easier to deal with them. At the end of this monsoon season (I’m in the desert-Arizona), we are dealing with more bugs than I’ve ever seen here in my life! And the black widows are getting out of hand in my garden now! I’m wondering what I can do about them?! No matter how tidy things are, the spiders are liking to make their webs in the tomatoes, melon vines, and now my zinnias…..basically, anywhere that they can hide. I’m having a time now, putting my hands into the melon vines on the trellises, and in the tomatoes to keep them pruned, and in the zinnias to cut them. If it isn’t one thing, it’s three more things just like it! I’ll be interested to see if any poisonous spiders move in to your green house, and how you deal with them. This is freaking me out!
I tend to overwater my seedlings in the greenhouse here in Wyoming so they don’t dry out. As u know how dry it is, I still have to water them almost every day and they don’t suffer from too much water.
Love the greenhouse; it looks so professional. I built a homemade one as I was trying to do it on the cheap. It's functional, but not as pretty as yours.🙂

Oh my...I'm in Cheyenne, WY and I would be so in love with having a greenhouse. Unfortunately, we don't have the space for one. I'm doing a CZcams channel as well on urban growing, seed starting, etc. It has been a learning curve that is still a hurdle in doing a CZcams channel, but I'm learning as I go. I've done a garden expansion, I'm doing some container gardening, and just getting into raised beds. I love your channel and you've given me a lot of tips in the past.
Way to go...showing off your wealth with all that wood. LOL I can see where a greenhouse would be very useful up there with your very short growing season. I am wondering why you would grow greens, lettuce, broccoli or root vegetables inside the greenhouse. I am in south Mississippi, and we have to grow those things in the wintertime or very early spring because the summertime is WAY too hot. They can all handle light frosts.
Its too hot in kansas for those in rhe summer, and Montana gets close to as hot. A greenhouse let's you straddle the seasons, lengthening the cold period allowing for an actual crop.
@@masquitaful being able to grow when it's too cold. I should have stated that more clearly. In Montana everything g freezes solid for a good 4 months. A greenhouse can be kept enough above freezing to keep on growing. Taking that further you can use a greenhouse in the height of summer when it's 90s plus, and create a a slightly cooler and protected place to grow things that would bake otherwise. In this case, shade cloth and open sides are used.

I wish this greenhouse company were in the UK too, we live in a very exposed place and I can’t find a greenhouse that will cope.

could prob string up the shade cloth inside - make a sort of drop ceiling.
throw a window screen over seedlings and baby plants till they start to press up. helps shade/ keep moister in.

Geothermal is the way to go!! Wind is not efficient and solar is TOXIC! Green house is ok. But yah!! On geothermal!! 👏👏👏👍👍💪💪💪
Another vote for geothermal! You could potentially grow all your needs, even things like grapes, bananas, avocados, coffee and cocoa beans.

Your greenhouse is large enough to have a compost pile in there. It will also help heat the greenhouse in the winter. And gold for the soil.

I didn't see any exhaust fans. You will need them, opening the vents alone will not be enough. Automation is awesome! It will save your plants for sure.

So fantastic! I sure hope you get or have some knee pads for kneeling on those bricks! My knees are aching just thinking about it. But it sure looks great and easier to maintain than mulch. So happy for you!!!

I started with a plastic film roof, it lasted about 5 years then i went to a polycarb roof. Im a mechanical engineer, so i built it all myself including the house frame. It gave me a good excuse to buy a nail gun, for the framing.
i have mine split up in even strips, so that i can rotate beds and pathways... that lets the beds have a rest every few years.

We don’t have a green house, but we planted our ‘square foot’ garden with narrow walk paths, like you have…..and I wish now that we had made them wider.
I got fed up with being attacked by ants that hid in the Bermuda grass, that took over the garden rather quickly…..so we concreted the walkways between the squares. MUCH cleaner, and the grass is easier to deal with (it still comes up between cracks between the squares and the concrete….it’s insidious!). But at least I can see the ants and other pests easier to deal with them.
At the end of this monsoon season (I’m in the desert-Arizona), we are dealing with more bugs than I’ve ever seen here in my life! And the black widows are getting out of hand in my garden now! I’m wondering what I can do about them?! No matter how tidy things are, the spiders are liking to make their webs in the tomatoes, melon vines, and now my zinnias…..basically, anywhere that they can hide. I’m having a time now, putting my hands into the melon vines on the trellises, and in the tomatoes to keep them pruned, and in the zinnias to cut them. If it isn’t one thing, it’s three more things just like it!
I’ll be interested to see if any poisonous spiders move in to your green house, and how you deal with them. This is freaking me out!
I tend to overwater my seedlings in the greenhouse here in Wyoming so they don’t dry out. As u know how dry it is, I still have to water them almost every day and they don’t suffer from too much water.
Let us know how many pests hide around the boards & pavers. I predict the pillbugs & slugs will love the hiding places around the boards & pavers.

Perhaps you could use the thinner 8x4 concrete reinforcing wire mesh panels for the tomatoes to climb rather then hang something from the roof.
Love the bricks. I use bricks everywhere I can no cement. With cement you get water runoff.

City girl here but what about doing what urban green houses do. Go vertical or at least some hanging to maximize that space.
I should add yout doing so much already and likely do not need to maximize your space. I am just drooling over it. Kind of in shock at it.

Awesome greenhouse! My family and I were looking at some property between Wheatland and Laramie on Sunday. As we were driving home, I looked to my left and saw a greenhouse and I thought, “That looks like Jill’s and so does that fence and...”. Any chance you are visible from the freeway?
Oh my...I'm in Cheyenne, WY and I would be so in love with having a greenhouse. Unfortunately, we don't have the space for one. I'm doing a CZcams channel as well on urban growing, seed starting, etc. It has been a learning curve that is still a hurdle in doing a CZcams channel, but I'm learning as I go. I've done a garden expansion, I'm doing some container gardening, and just getting into raised beds. I love your channel and you've given me a lot of tips in the past.

I can see where a greenhouse would be very useful up there with your very short growing season. I am wondering why you would grow greens, lettuce, broccoli or root vegetables inside the greenhouse. I am in south Mississippi, and we have to grow those things in the wintertime or very early spring because the summertime is WAY too hot. They can all handle light frosts.
Its too hot in kansas for those in rhe summer, and Montana gets close to as hot. A greenhouse let's you straddle the seasons, lengthening the cold period allowing for an actual crop.
How do you lengthen the cold period with a greenhouse?
@@masquitaful being able to grow when it's too cold. I should have stated that more clearly. In Montana everything g freezes solid for a good 4 months. A greenhouse can be kept enough above freezing to keep on growing. Taking that further you can use a greenhouse in the height of summer when it's 90s plus, and create a a slightly cooler and protected place to grow things that would bake otherwise. In this case, shade cloth and open sides are used.
I wonder if you could've buried the bottom part of the greenhouse and made a steady roof to withstand the hail...

I Like your greenhouse. Out of curiosity I wanted to see how much it costs...They no longer sell one this big, but looking a smaller 16'X20' on on their website Let's just say it cost almost as much as my first house.
