Our PODOLYANOCHKA is based on Ukrainian traditional folk song. The main line “get up, Podolyanochka” is a literal translation of the original lyrics!
But we’ve reinterpreted this song, which everyone in Ukraine knows from kindergarten. We continue to talk about the importance of uniting womanhood and stand against misogyny: both external and internal!
War, and despite this, social pressure leave a mark on the moral state of each of us. Every insult or loss carries its weight, and at some point, this burden becomes too heavy. If you don't break, you will become yourself in that moment. But we have each other to not break!
Who else can feel the pain of a woman like another woman? Let's unite, support each other, create joint projects, and achieve common goals! "You will fill yourself when you give," says Alyona Alyona in her verse. "Pour your soul out like rain into weeping seas-just don't lose sight of the beacon in the distance," sings Jerry Heil.

The song is based on one of the most famous old Ukrainian folk songs - "Podolianochka" (transl. "Podolian woman/girl"). Podolia ("Podillia" in Ukrainian literally means the "land of hills") is one of the oldest Ukrainian lands between the Dniester and the Southern Bug rivers. All children in Ukraine know that song from the kindergarden. The folk song preserved many pagan traces before adopting christianity in X century....

and it gives me chills too! Am from Ukraine and i think for me it's bacuse of the ancient tune of Podolyanochka. Maybe both our cultures have something similar from ancient times - we kind of had connections throughout history - like Ivana Kupala and the Fern flower myth - it's shared in our cultures - maybe we adopted some traditions and it and it became our own - so now we both share it. And if it's music - listening such songs makes me happily nostalgic. I love it

Do you know why every Jerry song is so powerful? Because it's Ukrainian) No kidding! Ukraine is rich culturally, spiritually, connected with nature... You don't find such an artist just like that... It's Europe, it's Ukraine... Slavic nation. America had something similar when it had indigenous people.

Костюмы, образы, движения...И конечно голоса, песня, слова. Смотрела и слёзы сами катились из глаз, душа плакала, потому что это было про Украину, про войну, про несломленый народ, про Харьков, который не сдаётся... И гордость и за Украину, и за такую песню от Украины, и за таких талантливых молодых украиночек. ❤❤
