Hey guys. Can you tell me what you used for the piano display with the colorized green notes?
Iâve been an untrained songwriter and musician arranging harmonies by ear and brute force since the â80s, but I got halfway smart a few years ago and started learning theory; I canât believe itâs taken this long to stumble across a harmony primer as clearly, succinctly and elegantly presented as this. Thank you so much.

Hi
Im a 17teen year old student from iran I donât go to music school im studying math at high school i play guitar but im nut really a professional player and Im a beginner at piano I know a bit music theory from researching online and self learning and trying to compose music
Im looking to go to study music in italy or france but I donât know how good I should be for them to accept me is there a chance that i get accepted ? If not what should i do , do you think someone in my age with only few years of experience can make it to a music college?
All you can do is to get your playing theory and aural levels as high as possible then go for it.
@@MusicMattersGB i canât play any classical instruments only guitar and even in that im not really that good if i get good in theory and aural can I still get it ? I checked the sample exam of abrsm and i easily passed the 1and2 with almost perfect points in 10 minutes and I still passed the 3th and the 4th and in 5 my problem was with key signatures and pass that I canât get any abrsm because we can only get the online ones in our country if i worked in my theory and aurals can i get to music college?
Just get as far as you can. After that it depends on which institution you go for and what the competition is like.
To be honest you're teaching better than all my music teachers. The way you're teaching is so easy to understand. Thank u very much.â€ïžâđ„

This is incredibly helpful! I wrote a piece more than 10 years ago, orchestrated it for beginning wind band, but I didn't really understand 4-part harmony - I just knew the chords I wanted and filled in notes with not much reasoning behind it. I'm revisiting it now, and this video is helping me to make decisions _on purpose_ !

I was amazed at how much of the song was written before playing a note. The logic of how the notes fit together is no less beautiful than the sounds they produce. Thank you!
