Cool show guys. I think I'll try Frontier this year. They have a more reasonable route network from Des Moines to Las Vegas now. They used to only have 10+ hour layovers when flying from Iowa to Vegas, in Denver. Now, they have a very easy DSM->Denver->LV route with a 50 minute connection layover. Too easy. That's less that 1 hour 30 minutes in the air. This used to be the United route option from Des Moines, but United had goosed the price of that route to $400 for over 2 years, and it looks like Frontier has stepped in, and either taken over that route, or undercut their pricing on it. Allegiant direct has been my only option from Des Moines, under $300 round trip, for two years. So it's great so see very easy, short, affordable, flight-options to Vegas, for someone like me. I absolutely can't stand being on a plane for 3+ hours. Also, Prairie Meadows here in Des Moines is a great casino option, fyi. No fake Blackjack in there. See you o the next one!
I’ve had great luck flying Frontier. If you know what to expect I think they’re a great airline.

I'm with Mark on the dogs in stores. Most places have pickup now, so you don't need your emotional support animal to shop at Walmart or the grocery store.
Remember when people could function on their own in society without their dog or whatever

Regarding the SW - United tiff, it’s all on United, and they tacitly admitted that when United leadership issued a memo telling pilots to do a better job teaching newbies (yes, the tattletale was a newbie) the culture and manners when you sit in the front of the plane. This was not a safety issue.
I'm sure she's highly experienced pilot!! LOL!! NOT!

Is it only me or have the mile redemption points gotten out of control. Last year I booked a first class flight to Vegas for 90,000 points on Delta. This year it is 220,000.
As they become more and more tied to the cash price things get worse for sure. Delta is even worse than most in that respect. Why collecting Skymiles is a bad proposition which makes the popularity of their cards all the more surprising.
You’re the second person I’ve heard from lately that frontier isn’t that bad. It’s got to be better than southwest that’s for sure. I got the companion pass from a credit card welcome offer last year. We’ve taken several flights on southwest and I feel justified in saying it’s at the bottom of the airline rankings as far as we’re concerned. I might have to give frontier a shot I saw they had a crazy welcome offer on their credit card spend $500 get 40 k miles.
I think it all depends on if your flight has an issue or not. Most all airlines seem great when things are going great and many don't handle it well when they don't.
I can’t stand when people stand up right away when the plane lands. LIKE WHERE ARE YOU GOING? Doors not even open.
Yep! And they block aisles so people in front of them can't get out of seats, get luggage etc. So annoying!

Can you guys find out what happened with mgm resorts and fhr. (Fine hotel and resorts ) they are no longer on the program. I usually staff at skylofts
They have been pulling them on and off for the last few years. Hopefully they come back one day but been pretty slim pickings since 2022 or so
They were removed after the MGM/Marriott merger.

Thinking being from Canada a lot of the credit cards you guys talk about as well as travel hacks won’t be useful for me?
Some of it would and some won’t. We are discussing a lot of general stuff but the bank specific stuff would be US only. There are definitely Canadian focused content creators in the space as well to keep track of those deals.

Is the Chase Sapphire worth getting? I have a southwest card. Is it better?
Yeah it is better because it earns transferrable points. They can still be transferred to Southwest when you need them, but can also be transferred to United, Hyatt, British Airways etc. when those offer better options. It has better earning rates too. Unless you spend on your Southwest card for status or the Companion Pass, the Preferred is the way to go.
Good job but try not to repeat the stories from the other channel. That being said, I did notice how packed it was for breakfast at Hash-house when I was staying at Rio a couple weeks ago. Not realizing how many people must have have been using their status for breakfast. After looking at the prices I kept thinking to myself how much those people must be paying for breakfast for their families. Now it all makes sense!
I think it's good they bring the bigger news to what will be a broader network. I personally love MTM and Vegas, but a lot of travelers aren't diehard for Vegas enough to watch that channel.
People who airlines shame are the worst. Frontier is a solid airline and even better with status. I pay $70 to fly cross country in an exit row, with a carry on, checked bag and underseat. Fuck the haters.
As long as it gets me from A to B I am good with it
