Ah, knockout roses: the clip-on ties of the Rose World. LOL. I made an impulse purchase two summers ago of the bright red little spray rose, probably a carpet rose? I appreciate their ease, but they don't get my heart racing like a David Austin rose. (But then again, they don't break my heart like a David Austin will after it dies after 3 or 4 glorious years. Yes, I am talking about you, Pat Austin.)
Never been a huge knockout rose fan but I think this is a perfect application for them. They definitely have a place in landscapes & look great here.
Same. I call them the clip on ties of the Rose World. BUT... you gotta admire their cheerful disposition and ease of care. But they don't get my heart racing like a David Austin rose.
With such beauty and the color red, expect a raise and possible promotion soon! 🌹 💐 🌹 💐
When you can get a season full of blooms with no fuss or heavy maintenance required, that sounds like a win to me. They look beautiful Erin.
These are fabulous roses! I gave one to my Mom and it’s so easy and low maintenance. Beautiful!
These are so cute! I wish they would come out with more colors. I love them with the hydrangea! Such nice color.
Well said Erin "a shrub that happens to be a rose". I'm going to adopt that. Also, I love the idea of planting them in mass.
Those look great, the area looks great. Can't wait to see how they do.
Thanks Erin, I also have a problem spot, problem solved now!
Just planted some this year at my daughter's. She has 2 little ones and no time to fuss with difficult plants. Looking forward to seeing & hearing how everyone's turn out.
Hey, I’ve actually been at your town and enjoying some delicious coffee at a cute coffeehouse (the name escapes me), on our way home from Door County. Cool! Fun video! Thanks for your original garden videos!
I planted three of these Petites two months ago they’re amazing everything about the plant is a win. I hope they expand this line of roses they have a winner.
Knock out roses are all over Central Texas and what's interesting is the deer seem to leave them alone! The deer eat all other roses but they don't go for the knockouts! 🦌
They are gorgeous! The red compliments the brick, but you probably already thought of that! 😁 Great choice! 🤩
I love the size and shape of the flowers. As soon as they come out with a Petite that isn’t red, I’m in!
The plant bed looks really nice.
These are great little 🌹 roses I’ve have two planted in pedestal urns since a year ago. I live in Alabama and they bloom non stop, they’ve done great in our heat and humidity fertilized once at beginning of season with a granular and occasionally with a liquid when I remember. Love the glossy dark green leaves.
Look’s great Erin😊
That is a real nice punch of color, will look great with Hydrangea!
What a great addition to the bed!
Beautiful rose. Every yard needs some.
I love them, small and effective. Thanks for sharing I’ll be looking for them in our local nursery. 👍❤️😊
I could tell this was a partnership vid as soon as I heard you. You totally have a sales persona that takes over.
The petites look great!
Think they look great, You can't beat some of these new roses that have heaps blooms and are disease resistant 😍
Thanks Erin.🌸💚🙃
Love mine 😍
I love my petite knockout roses! I think they're super underrated for sure. I have a small to med sized backyard so they're just perfect in my flower bed. Thanks for Sharing! Much love from Western New York State. ❤
Amazing video🌹🌹❤❤
Looks great! If people are going to cut that corner and walk on the bed, you could put a stepping stone or two there to keep from messing up your mulch.
I really appreciate how you disclose your partnerships. If everyone is informed, the partnership can be beneficial to the consumer, as well as the content creator and the company. You produce amazing content and I hope that content continues.
I have mine by the patio and they are great. First a cool and very dry spring. Now a hot and very wet/humid summer. Even my geraniums look puny but not the roses.knock on wood!!
Hey Erin! I visited Greendale WI a few years back and found the placard in a park that celebrates William Radler the developer of the knockout rose variety. Kudos to a ingenious Wisconsinite!
Beautiful garden
I should have it in my garden, Thank you!
What a wonderful project, you are fantastic. I hope my Garden Centre in Australia has them.
Would you be putting a groundcover under them? Maybe like Ajuga, Sedum or a Campanula or all three! :)
Just got three of these on sale their super cute!
Wow, was a beautiful tiny rose bush. I don’t have any roses, not one. I planted a bare root this spring and it died😝 I’ll try again next year… perhaps 🤷♀️
Cutie patooties. I wish Knockouts were hardy in Zone 5 - Madison. I've tried three times. Loved them, gorgeous, awesome and then --- gone. Yeah and then there are the Japanese beetles. Any yet I'm apt to try one of these guys when they come out with a pink.
...I learned about these through a magazine ad this spring and HAD to have one due to its size. Luckily they were easy to find; my local garden center carried them, and I then did stumble across them at Lowe's (Lowe's even had them in standards!) As you are saying, truly they are no-fuss/no-muss and with routine care -- fertilizing and watering -- they have been very rewarding. I personally don't have any problem with the color red (unlike other beloved gardeners) and it is making a nice accent in my garden. 🤗🙌❤️ (from 👩🏼🌾💚 =^..^= [6b])
Those look great, and I hope they do well! My only concern in my 7b garden near Atlanta is the issue of rosette virus. I had to remove all 7 of my gorgeous Knockout roses because of it. I’ve heard Knockouts are particularly susceptible to rosette, and I’ve waited for the recommended 3 years according to the Extension Service. Im still nervous about bringing a known problem back into my garden. But these smaller Knockouts are tempting!
It’s a valid concern. Rosette virus has been bad across the midwest.
Was easy navigation to find local supplier - they must be good as it’s supplied at my local Rosarian paradise nursery 😂
I live in northwest Indiana and these are all over on business lots here in Merrillville, along busy streets, etc.... I always wondered what "bush" this was...now I know, thank you!! Do they only come in red? seems that's all I see.
i planted one of the petite red in a container last year. It came through the arctic blast just fine. I chose to thin it out a bit for better air flow in my humid area and like the look of that.
That’s great to hear!
Has this been bred to be rose rosette disease resistant?
Would love to have them but Japanese Beetles decimate roses 😢.
What about deer?
Just bought 2 of these. Do you plant them about 2 feet apart ?
I'd say more like 18" and I think that's plenty far apart.
@@TheImpatientGardener thanks , 18" it is then.
Here in Virginia RRD is aggressively spreading amongst Knock-out roses. And don't get me started on Japanese Beetles.
Haven't they been known for rose rosette?
Knock Out roses are susceptible to rose rosette, but they are not more prone to it than any other rose. This article talks about it a bit, including addressing the Knock Out situation. ahsgardening.org/wp-content/pdfs/GS_TAG_ND17_rose_rosette.pdf
Hi Erin
Could you give an update about your luxe organic bed? I'm thinking of buying one, but would really appreciate your feedback 😊😴
We are loving it. We had a foam pad on our old bed because it was so hard (not firm, hard), and this so great without that. It’s only been 6 weeks or so but I very much like it so far.
Retail search doesn’t seem to work!
Yes it does. You have to go to "where to buy" on the menu tab and it gives you a map and list based on your location.
Knockout roses are the most diseased roses in Texas every rose i see by the roadside in Dallas. They have Rosetta disease
Am I crazy or do I hear horses and carriages going by? Sounds like Mackinac island.
I always think that too when this location is featured. 😊 My guess is that it’s car tires going over an elevated spot in the road, but it makes for a charming background sound doesn’t it? ☺️ 🐎
Could be Amish buggy, maybe.
