Oddball plants take center stage in the urn
I'm continuing to experiment with plants I've never grown before in the patio garden urn. I had a lot of fun designing this one and I can't wait to hear what you think.

I got a new window box! Actually it's exactly the same window box I've had for more than 14 years, just bigger. And that's due in part to finding out that Hooks & Lattice can customize window box sizes! This video is not sponsored. Answering garden questions (on the go) YOUR postcards!
I love this design and especially loved your pot flips so funny. I’m jealous that you are wearing a fleece jacket right now…we’re suffering a brutal 90+ heatwave this week.
I love the out of the ordinary planters you are doing now
love it, beautiful!!!
I love your planters, you come up with plants I’ve never heard of!! It looks great!!!
gorgeous!
I wish Digging Dog was still shipping to Florida. They have some great plants. :(
love your bold creative spirit 😊❤
I love coroposis, I would never want to grow rose of Sharon, were it is constantly dropping all the seedlings and sprouting all kinds of plants, and if you just want that one tree or bush well it is a battle almost equal to dandelions. Some of my favorites are black eyed Susan’s, and cone flowers
You’re wearing a jacket! Is it still that chilly there?
Hi Erin, what is the pink flower at 7:31? My boys (grands) would love a plant that smells like peanut 🥜 butter! 😄
Chartreuse started in my garden with apple green coral bells... and moved to the hostas and now it's pretty much in all the planters😂😂😂😂😂
❤
You are right about putting in some real stunner plants. Great job, love to see it later on in the season.
I thought I heard you say plant low so you can see through the window. Hmmm.
No ... mount the box low so you can see through the window. That allows for plants that grow 18" or more with good viewing when standing at the window (which happens to be behind our kitchen sink).
loving all the shades of purple, and making note for my next container! "...flowers just go together" is so true.
I love that you try something different every year! They're beautiful plants, and I can't wait to see them grow too. Love the textures!!
❤🙏
Gorgeous! The peanut butter plant is going to be the star.
The weirder the better! Bring it on! 😂
Lolz i have a dwarf that will make bananas ... and a normal one that lives in the house... the house one literally is like a baby from the original that grew to be 6 foot tall before i rehomed it to a store I would have just left the jasmines in their cans and buried the cans ...they'll probably grow faster if they get root bound and grow roots out of the bottom of the can. Just letting you know ive bought and lost a lot of jasmine over the years Stephanotis is so hard to kill and blooms like non stop! Pink star is really hard to get going and to get to bloom but it smalls amazing! I've bought several types those 2 are the best
Yes, I can shove in ONE MORE PLANT!!!🙌🏼🙌🏼
💜🪴💜🪴💜🪴💜
Do you have to trim or maintain the climbing hydrangea that looks like a pillar of flowers at time stamp 930 on this video? Or does it just do its own thing every year?
I don't do anything at all to it, other than throw some fertilizer on it when I happen to have some left in the bag after fertilizing other hydrangeas. I don't think it got any this year.
Love it🪴
You go girl! Beautiful!
Love the flip on the empty containers👍🏻🇨🇦
Hi Erin, What happened to the bird that was keeping you away from the urn?
The babies fledged and they moved on. Thank goodness!
Well, I nominate you the container queen! I love all them so far. Gardeners paint with plants.
Beautiful Erin! I love it! The wire vine just finished the container off!
Flowers definitely just go together! Another pretty combo and I am totally envious of the pot!
You always make me laugh: can she jam one more plant...
thanks Erin!🪴
❤
Gorgeous!!!!! The wirevine for the win - Complete!!!🏆
Gotta love your sweatshirt. 😂It’s 92💦 here. Phew
I think this might be my favorite of your urn plantings. It's beautiful Erin!
Look great I can’t wait to see how it grows!
Ooohh, I love the look of the Purple Bell vine just loosely draped along the top of the container…I vote for that look if it ends of trailing too much!!
it definitely needed the wire vine!
It’s beautiful. I really love this planter.
Your plants are beautiful. My question is: Where do you get your planters?
Beautiful window box, love the colors.
Cracked me up! That incredible urn is not only a kaleidoscope of colour but texture as well. So many plants I've never even heard of before, which are always so interesting to see in your gardens Erin. It's going to be just fabulous. Enjoy!
That is going to be absolutely stunning! As if it isn’t stunning enough now! Love your ideas!!
You always make me smile. Thank you
Wow!
Love this container, love thinking outside of the box! What did you do differently with your bell flower this year that you had such great luck ? I have failed miserably trying to grow from seed.💐🇨🇦
I find that if I put too many plants in my planters, they look like a big mess midsummer, and I end up removing some.
where did u get the urn
I bought that from Nichols Bros. stoneworks. It’s the Heller House urn.
Spotted lanternfly breeds on your peanut butter plant.
