  • Today I want to show you how to make a small #Terrarium with #carnivorous plants. In This Video I used a venus flytrap and a sundew.
    I want to induce other people into making their own enclosures and terrariums instead of buying very expensive decorations from a store!

    Nice little set up. How are your plants doing?

    The terrarium looks great! Just one thing though: I'm not sure if that moss species plays well with carnivorous plants. If your plants start dying, maybe try again with live sphagnum moss

    Sup dude I just saw your small terrarium video. How is it doing?
    And does it provide proper humidity? I'm thinking if building one. I'm from Brooklyn NYC and I just purchased my a red dragon fly trap. Their great lil plant's.

    I would add a little more soil but other than that I think it’s ok. Nicecombination of Drosera Capensis “small leaf” with Dionaea muscipula “average”

    Ahoj Water for sundews 1.)Can I water my sundews with tap water? 2.)Can I water that boiled and then cooled sundews with water? 3.)ed. Wysłano What water do you use for Drosera callistos ,Drosera anglica?

  • @blooky102
    @blooky102 Před rokem

    I did this experiment and the sundew are doing well for 3 years now, but my venus flytraps dies in a year as they lacked the proper prey as the springtails in each jar only was good enough for the sundews.

    How often you put water in it? I'm planning make terrarium but I wanted do like tube to bottom and fill bottom with 2cm of water and keep it with water all the time but it's much difficult way if this is enough im curious how often you have to give them water?

      looks like 3l / 5l glass bottle.There are 0.5l like ones Korken looking similar for smaller plants.

      Did you just orgasm while typing this?
      VFT can survive on photosynthesis, sundew can get some bloodworms or other non-insect food that works for sundews.

      @grimdavis58 Před 4 lety

      Use a blend of peat moss, sphagnum moss, quarts sand/perlite

  • @WG-tt6hk

    Just an observation . Shouldn't the plants go in last? Why put them in when more stuff is going to be added requiring you to rmove the plant and then put them back in. Desn't that stress the roots?

    • @pershop4950
      @pershop4950 Před 4 lety

      Considering how often he moved the plants, as well as totally pulling out the sundew at some point, then yes, it should have been done with most of the substrate in already, before putting in the plants, and then a little modification here and there.

    You don’t need the pond all you need to do is spray the moss and terrarium 2 times a day. Plus it doesn’t look natural

    Carnivorous plants aren't meant to be put in terrariums.
