Just heard Highs and Lows as someone's favourite track on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs ... and it's instantly my favourite track of the year!! I love the simplicity, I love the minimal guitar arrangement, I love the vocal harmonies ... can't explain exactly why, but it just makes me cry with happiness ... and that's what good music is for ... sweet!!
Derek is right. The melodies, lyrics, and harmonies are absolutely on point and all together they create an incredible song. When the hook hits, it actually makes you catch your breath and stop what you're doing. The sound the two of you make together is so smooth, so calming yet uplifting, that it fills you with sense of joyful peace... if that makes sense.
