There could be many reasons you know , If you were both relatives and you didnt know till recently so you clearly cant be together right-? If one of them is mentally down and keeps hurting on the other and she/he cant focus on thier mental health you know manyyy reasons are there , (I just gave an example there will be manyyy such reasons as it is not always about love its about commitment too ) But I doo see your pov :)
