I don't know why people hate on 80s AOR rock so much. Early 80s heavy metal and late 80s AOR are both fantastic. What a magical decade for rock and metal music
I think many now with such empty music without modern heart, if they enjoy these wonderful themes. I totally love the great era of the 80s you can enjoy so many styles and forgotten jewelry. Greetings from Colombia
Well I love it.
AOR is life
Por canciones tan glamorosas cómo estás, que deslucen el heavy y recurren a fórmulas como el estribillo y los “solos impactantes”, además de una estructura pegajosa y repetitiva.
Because they're idiots
Saxon is the most underrated group in heavy metal.
The best power ballad by Saxon. One of my fave bands ever.
I like "Do it all for you"
One of my favourite SAXON’s songs! Pure AOR!
What means AOR?
@@supernatural9r406 album/adult oriented rock
Pure AOR. The great Saxon took a little ride into this magical genre. And they did it very well and beautifully
Yes, I completely agree.
Hej, that's a good answer
it's pure Modern Talking

Still loving this in 2020
I'm listening to it in 2021.
Why the hell are people complaining about this song? are bands not allowed to write something a little different from their usual material every now and again? In fact this is one of the better songs ever written by Saxon. Yeah the song is very pop but so what? many heavy metal bands were guilty of writing songs like this which is actually a good thing cause it shows that they can adapt. I love heavy music but I think something softer is lovely to listen to once in a while and bands like Saxon have shown that they are good at writing and changing it up once in a while.
dxvolt Yeah I just never understood how a lot of people complain about a band trying something a little different once in a while. I didn't see why people were complaining cause Saxon have always been faithful to their usual material. I mean what metal band doesn't have a ballad or something lighter? even some bands like Metallica and Megadeth have some great softer material, hell even Slipknot have a few soft ones so why is it not okay for Saxon? a lot of people who claim to love music are idiots cause they are the ones who stick to one genre of music and listen to it all day. Music has come a long way and fused with pretty much every style you can think of.
It's drivel, they were trying to be Def Leopard, and it didn't work, it's laughable!
husq48 Trying to be Def Leppard? are you for real? No disrespect but that's the dumbest thing Iv ever heard. A lot of metal bands were writing ballads so Saxon wouldn't be any less an exception and they have been around longer than Def Leppard. A lot of bands were writing this kind of material back in the day. I like Def Leppard but your comment is nonsense. Def Leppard were not the first and only band writing this kind of material as there were many more doing this back in the 80s like Whitesnake, Motley Crue, Kiss, Bon Jovi, Ratt and the list goes on. Saxon did make it work so what the hell are you on about? you don't have to like the song but it did work cause there is a lot of merit in it's composition.
They, and a lot of bands, jumped on this commercial bandwagon at the time. It did not work, the fans left in droves, this was not who Saxon was. Thankfully, they not only returned to their roots, but since 2000 to the present date, have far surpassed "The Power and the Glory" of yesteryear!
Look up reviews for this lp, see for yourself...
(BTW, I recently ordered this one, solely for nostalgic reasons!)
Considering the huge amount of garbage that exists today on the radio, I find it completely ridiculous and absurd that many people hate this type of mainstream music, arguing that metal bands looks very bad at writing rock pop ballads like these. People, please, it´s 2022 and seriously you'll need understand, THIS WAS REAL MUSIC!, heavy metal, rock, aor, glam, hard rock, soft rock, pop rock, power ballads, what does it matter today if they were mainstream or not? Is it necessary to be proud and arrogant to say that this music is bad just because it is commercial and soft? All these genres were music with meaning, composed with technique, melody, harmony, rhythm, feeling, talent, soul, passion, lyrics and quality, that a song will can be mainstream is just a label, nothing more, that should not be a reason to underestimate the music quality, It´s because of those stupid divisions between people that rock and heavy are sadly dead today. Seriously, what else do you want? Is it that you really prefer to listen all these crap called trap, reggaeton, pre-adolescent pop, and a number of other atrocities that are fixed today with autotune and samples that win these grammy´sh*t awards every year thanks to the support provided by the today´s corrupt music industry? Oh, come on!
(Sorry for my english).
Considering the huge amount of garbage that exists on radio and TV is an understatement back in the 70s and 80s it took bands almost a year to release a new album as Brian Johnson from ACDC once said back then there was no American Idol the only way you knew that you were doing good was from the amount of people that would show up. Record companies camcor about pumping out new products and making money then they do about promoting good talent if you ever noticed on The Late Show is on TV right before an actor is about to release a new movie they always invite them to make an appearance what about the rest of the year what are they doing the 80s had the best of everything music TV fashion and cars
Totally aggree! I Love 80s music, whatever you want to call it
I Feel your pain
Well, that's not fair... today's music is unimaginably bad... this is just weak compared to the time period
👍🤟🤪🤟🇮🇹
This is a hit of 80's era. As Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Poison, Motley Crue, White Lion .... Saxon steered their music toward a different way, and then they succeeded
Not metal but who cares? It's a killer AOR song. That's all that matters.
The Classic Heavy Metal Vault thats it, simply perfectly said
I complety agree with you dude!
great power ballad, AOR ia bit different isn't it?
@@melidaadrianaahumadalinare6436 well, Saxon definitely is a heavy metal band of course hehehe but in this album especially, and especially in this outstanding hit, there's AOR in every single note. They take a little ride on the AOR universe
What means the AOR lyrics?

Almost no one was interested in Destiny at that time because it was in the middle of the wave of albums that came out at that time, but this album should have the respect that their first albums have, this album is very underrated according to me

Those keyboards, so beautiful.

I really love this song from Saxon It's a very pretty song, and one of many favorite songs by Saxon!

What I like the most about AOR is that it's like the oldie one from the metal family (with softer romantic oriented lyrics), but still it sounds heavy and with high peaks on the voice. To me it gets to sound even heavier than many hard rock songs, or even than Nu Metal.
Awesome band xxx
This song is very beautiful, i love this band, congratulations Saxon
80ths was the creativest Aera from all Bands!..i love all the Melodic Pearls..i love it!
Ouvindo em 2020,galera que balada linda da banda Saxon, não teremos mais essas bandas infelizmente, não na geração de hoje...

the unforgetable 80's the best music forever.
I talked about this. It was a drunken lonely night, a lonely Sunday morning. No people on the streets but my imagination with those musicians while I was walking in front the chilean Theater Opera. Then from my earphones began the rithm of this beautifulness.
Speak what they want to, this song is a part of me...

Saxon love their music
Even though this sounded too pop for Saxon standards...... Still a good song.
Só estrelas Saxon, á era super brilhante do Rock, parabéns á esses verdadeiros guerreiros
I Can't Wait Anymore (Tradução)
Voce me deixou esperando, você não atende o telefone
Eu estive esperando
Não posso esperar mais
Não posso esperar mais
Não posso esperar mais..
Quanto mais te desejo, menos te tenho
Eu estive sozinho desde quando nos encontramos
Eu estou dando duro, garota
Dando duro pra esquecer

Preciosa cancion .
fantasticaaaaa
Every Saxon song is brilliant!
Saxon what can you say , this is a classic, and it still Rocks Today Even After All These Years. True music ,keep Rocking Guys, and stay safe and well.
What a great hook!
This was during an era of Saxon where they were kind of confused about which direction they wanted to go in. Successful metal bands at the time were either glam or thrash basically. They never really broke big here in the U.S. and were feeling and being pressured to find that hit single or formula that would get them radio hits like Priest and Leppard. At least we got a lot of great songs like this one out of it, along with "Waiting for the Night" from Rock the Nations which was the other attempt at a breakthrough hit. :) This video is awesome too, it's 80s without resorting to being cheesy and corny.
A mi hija de 8 y a mi nos encanta nos re delira :D
SAXON! Forty Years On,,,, And still Rockin 'On Strong!!! 👍
De lo mejor ...
Biff has a great AOR voice .. I think they should have done more of this......Only thing missing female vocalist for chorus...
