Bro, they left a lot of valuables in that abandoned funeral home and I saw the cremation remains. They left behind loved ones that need to be properly buried out of respect for the family.

Could you possibly report those cremains to the police so their loved ones can have them? So sad that they were never returned😢😢

They were never picked up by the family which is surprisingly common.

From what I’ve seen on other funeral home vids the family has 1 year to get the remains. After that the funeral home/ crematorium can discard them

You have to pay for the ashes I can’t remember how much it cost to get my mothers ashes, but you have to pay them and if you don’t you don’t get the ashes that’s why there was so many of them as for being abandoned I don’t know why maybe will never know but I like to look things up, so maybe if I find things out, I’ll tell you

Excellent video. Such a beautiful old house! Often times families never pick up; the cremated remains and the mortuary stores them indefinitely.

The thing that you don't know what it is at 8:24, is a death mask. And if you don't know what a death mask is, it's what used to be quite common to do to someone's face after their death by taking a cast or impression from the corpse to be used as a memento of the person, for creation of portraits or used as a sign of social and political prominence to be placed in someone's home. There are quite a few other reasons why they were made as well. They were usually made by using bronze or plaster.

Hi again Rick! Isn't it weird how some people think they shouldn't have to abey the laws. If I stole a candy bar, I know I would get caught. I believe I will try to stay honest. At 70 years old, I am too old to think other wise. Honestly is the best policy. I don't want God to smite me! Lol you stay safe and thank you for the great video.

True story: After my uncle's funeral, my aunt told the mortician she would pick up the ashes later. He replied, "Yeah, sure!" Perplexed and put off by his answer, he opened a nearby closet and showed her many boxes of unclaimed ashes. He then explained to her that so few people actually show up to CLAIM the remains that he just expected her to be another one of those types. Before we condemn the proprietors of a funeral home, we need to at least give them the benefit of the doubt that they likely DID try to dispose of the ashes properly, only to be ignored by the next of kin.
This next part is only speculation, but suppose a retiring funeral director tried contacting, say, the county coroner's office and was told to call the state; they contact the state and get told to contact the city; they contact the city and get sent back to the county. Yes, this is hypothetical, yet I've been in situations (and known others who have as well) where one bureaucracy or department bounces me to another such entity, no one has any answers and getting a call back is next to impossible.
Point being, maybe it was negligence but maybe they genuinely TRIED to do the right thing and were rebuffed/ignored and finally just gave up.

I’m pretty sure the head figure you saw was a death mask, which is a clay or plaster mold placed over a deceased person’s face to make a mask that preserves the person’s face. It looks like that mask may have been casted in some kind of metal.

Usually when cremation remains are not picked up by family it's due to lack of payment. Sort of like not claiming a body. Also, if there was no one in the immediate family (next of kin) then there was maybe no one to claim creamtion remains. This lady seems shady and she could have been scamming everyone🤷 Sad but true. The responsibility family once placed on kins final rites has diminished over the last couple of decades.

Would be an old picker/seller like me, a dream! It must be owned by someone, if the IRS or State didn't seize it. Items would have been picked clean, unless thieves are scared of death house.
