I hate and love how relatable is the boyfriend descend into madness with the valkyrie queen, because i've lived that too and it's just... Nostalgic and painful
One of the few times my wife has had to witness me genuinely rage at a game
It was so rage inducing the first time but now I see Sigrun as an old friend because whenever I have a hankering for some god of war I load up my save file from right before I beat her and just fight her over and over again

I don’t know. It’s just so satisfying to be able to load up the game and stomp the final boss within five tries

Honestly, the Valk Queen is one of the best boss battles I've experienced.
Its one of those few times that, after upgrading all my gear to the best stuff in the game,
I walk away from a boss fight thinking "wow, I actually needed all those upgrades"
yeah init, one change of my armor changed the whole fight
The command grabs are still bullshit
Maybe I just needed to play it on give me gow difficulty, or I upgraded my armour too much but... Is it normal to beat sigrun on your very first attempt? It was still close but I thought I would die a whole bunch of times

Every action you take in this game is soooo sloooowwwwww. I camt stand that. It drags and drags and drags out what's really only like 5 hours of actual.gameplay and combat, out to like 15.
With the millions of well informed, lifetime video gamers, you would think at least one of them would work at IGN. IGN seems to be run by the same people who write for stuff like people magazine and never played a game in their life. I'm pretty sure they review games based off the trailer alone, never actually play it.

Sigrun was a nightmare compared to the rest of the valkyries, it was like all of them were combined together to equal the most annoying and hardest fight in all of GOW
In all of GoW? I've heard people refer to Sigrun as the hardest boss they've *ever* encountered out of any game! 😂😭
Yes, it was tough as Helheim. The only other game boss that was similarly hard to beat was the Frog Lord in HOUSE, but that was more annoying because you had to replay the entire day every single time.

I just played it my first time this week on the second hardest difficulty.. I didn't seem to have any problems with her at all
@@jasonking7570 lol no it wasn't. The game literally trains you by showing you ALL the patterns of the valkyries before you get to her. If anything, she's the easiest of them because you already know every move she's gonna do.
Radec on the hardest difficulty however... or grenades in WAW Veteran.

And could it be that he is actively denying the workers proper pay, compensation, benefits, piss breaks and general respect I’m order to ensure he keeps getting richer
And could it be that he’s responsible for scabs and union buster efforts to prevent his workers getting what they deserve because that would eat at his paycheck and despite making thousands a second he still insists of having an ever increasing salary and bonus each year
But he sold a couple books decades ago so it’s all fine though lazy workers need to take a page out of uncle bezo’s book and get off those food stamps and pull themselves up by their bootstraps

Freya says that after you kill her son Baldur. The reason why it is so intense is because she went to EXTREME lengths to make sure that he was immortal. She gave up being the Queen of the valkyries, had a curse placed on her that made her incapable of defending herself from threats, and was willing to die at his hands for his sake.

I finished the game on hard. And the Queen was so hard to beat - took me hours. But once I got her, it felt really good. I can only imagine how tough she would be on the highest difficulty.

The writing/script for this was honestly amazing, and production value was off the charts. Really well done.
It’s sort of ironic how that, while pace breakers, the side quests and optional objectives are pretty fun to do as players, while very boring to watch as a bystander.
I think what is considered a pacebreaker is really an individual taste sort of thing. A player deciding to do some side quests will return to the main quest when they feel ready to do so, setting their own pace. Having an audience means that everyone has a different preferred pace and it can be frustrating when they want to keep a quicker pace than the person playing.
@@effortlessfury I could never have anyone watch me game, one of the reasons is that I have a snail pace, and I can't naturally fully enjoy it as much.
Sort of like how Stardew Valley is one of the best indie games of the past decade and also one of the worst games to run as a Let's Play.
@@dreamshade I mean, unless you're content to focus on the player and not the game. If you can let go of your own expectations and follow the player's pace, it's all good. Not everyone can do that and not all the time.
@@effortlessfury Yeah, I can see SDV streaming for using the twitch stream as an excuse to hang out with your viewers and talk about stuff and chill. But I think I've seen at least three different popular CZcams people try to start a series of SDV video streams only to give up after two episodes because they just couldn't keep up the banter with all the daily chores.
Also I know Matt was literally a professional editor, but OOF he is really flexing here. Bravo on these amazing cuts!

Just finished the main storyline on PS4 yesterday evening. What an amazing game! Your remarks on all of the "holupaminutes" are spot on, I was thinking to myself - "Do I really need all the silver and chests if I have my health and raged maxed already?" and I kept on smashing these pots and ring-a-dinging these bells.

You guys inspired me to play the PS5 version solely to defeat the Valkyries and their Queen. Last night my wife and I screamed in elation as I ripped the wings off the Queen herself! I did what I felt was the impossible. Your support and videos have also led me to beat Returnal and Demon Souls. Which again were other games I felt I would never be able to beat. I love god of war 2018, its probably in my top 50, the reason it isnt higher is that the third act is kinda mid and atreus shoulda gotten a bit more development, because going from sweet curious atreus to magni murderer is too much too quickly

First off your editing and splicing in of just the right clip or sound is second to none! And everything you were saying to that valkyrie was me 💯%! I gave her days of my life and when I finally was getting close to slaying her all of my rage of all the deaths I had incurred for days finally came out pretty much like what you were sayin! Lol but once she was slain and the platinum trophy adorned my playstation a calm came over me... As if I felt that my work here was done.

I just found your channel and as a girlfriend who is a single-player gamer I felt this review in my soul haha. My boyfriend recommends games to me a lot, and God of War was something I've always been interested in trying even before he suggested it. I watched him play Ragnarok when it came out, not having a clue wtf was going on, but it's such a beautiful game so I decided to try the 2018 one...and ended up playing it for 10hrs straight. Never looked back

I remember fighting Sigrun, took me hours to come up with every dirty trick to take advantage of every opening she had, and many more hours to execute it perfectly. I had the same energy as 9:10 , and ended the same situation in 9:53.
Fighting the Valkyries is probably one of the most satisfying sidequest I've played.
