    Due to its heavy bass sound signature, these seem more like indoor speakers as opposed to outdoor speakers. It just seems like a person would benefit more by using it in home.

      The Soundlink Max does sound good until you get to higher volume levels. The $400 price tag is pretty ridiculous. I'll probably put it up against the $129 Soundcore Boom 2 soon. 😉

    I think your max might be faulty, I played my MAX at max volume with EQ bass mid treble set at the highest and didn’t distort like urs did. And I played it at max volume outside for 3 hours while playing basketball and 1 hours with friends outside. I just listened your video using headphones and your max indeed distorts like crazy, which is little mind boggling to me.

      Hmm, I've run a lot of Bluetooth speakers at max volume. Why the 100% warning? I've ran the W-King T11 in TWS mode at full blast outdoors several times and no issues. Same with TWS Partybox 310 and 110. Heck, even Soundboks encourages their customers to not go to 10 on the volume dial, but 11.🤪 These are Bluetooth speakers, not high end audiophile equipment costing big $$$.

    I have a bunch of really good speakers of all different brands. Jbl, bose, marshall, soundcore, B&O ect. They ALL sound like crap at max volume as they are not made to be listened to at that level. I have the new bose MAX and i absolutely love it. If u can afford it , its worth the money to me. Very clean clear sound quality. No app necessary. Gets plenty loud enough without being at max volume. Of course theres plenty of cheaper louder options. But dont think for second that the MAX is not a great speaker. Sure its overpriced. Its BOSE. Not budget friendly company.

But it's sound was not enjoyable at that level to me. it's best performance is at anywhere between 30%- 80% volume. 70% volume is my sweet spot. Loud enough and IMPRESSIVE. So if I'm understanding you correctly, you are saying that big name, expensive speakers sound bad at 100% volume and the companies actually make the speakers bad intentionally because they aren't designed to be listened at their manufactured max volume? 🤣 So companies are intentionally making their speakers sound bad? I've never heard anybody express this before. I guess JBL must a cheap brand, because they design their speakers to sound fine with limiters at 100% volume. 😲

      I've listened to the Bose Soundlink Max with music that doesn't have a lot of bass and it won't distort like it does with bass music, of course. It does get pretty harsh at max volume with most anything, however. I think Bose should have used some DSP to reign in the bass at higher volume levels, because I can see the speaker being damaged or blown if people try to bump their bass heavy music at higher volumes with this speaker.

      @@JaysStraightUpReviews the limiters come on. If you listen closely (and haven't destroyed your hearing yet), you'll hear the bass come down under 300-500Hz in both speakers. It will sound flappy, distorted, etc. But what happens to the highs? They maintain themselves alright. That's on purpose! Max volume is no way to assess sound quality. If you're looking for ear destroying clarity in speaker, you'll have to move over to professional grade products, not lifestyle audio products.

    • @JaysStraightUpReviews
      @JaysStraightUpReviews  Před 2 měsíci

      @@Gravity_Ghost The speaker goes from sounding nice to bad as you cross over to the higher volume levels with bass music. I'm not sure what you are hearing yourself, but the DSP is usually applied to reign in the bass to protect the drivers. JBL is pretty famous for this and some people criticize JBL for reducing bass, but it does keep their speakers from being over-driven and distorting. That's not happening here with the Bose Max. And it's not "clarity" that is the issue here. Why don't you go over to Flossy Carter's channel and argue with him. He likes to run everything at max volume. 🤣

  • @Gravity_Ghost
    @Gravity_Ghost Před 2 měsíci +4

    It's clear that you can't provide a technical explanation of what's going on. Your measurements are completely subjective to the music dynamics and your limited knowledge of audio engineering. The Bose speaker is not "struggling", it's protecting itself and you! You've pushed it so hard, the limiters come on, and that's what you're calling "breaking up". Limiters are employed to 1.) protect the battery life, battery temperatures, safety reasons, etc, 2.) to protect your drivers from over-excursion and physically destroying themselves. Why you reviewers think that max volume tells you anything about the audio quality is beyond me. No stereo system sounds good near or at max due to the THD+N distortion alone.
    Everyone employs protections on the their speakers and batteries in different ways. Look up "audio limiters" and understand how they work before you make another video involving battery powered speakers. You might also want a refresher on how lithium batteries work, and why portable speakers sound horrible at max volume.

    • @JaysStraightUpReviews
      @JaysStraightUpReviews  Před 2 měsíci +1

      You must be confused. The speaker IS NOT protecting itself, which one would expect it would do. It's being allowed to play to a level at which is not safe for the drivers. The UE Epicboom, which was also in this video, had a similar issue when it came out. UE addressed the problem and via firmware update the issue was mostly resolved. Hopefully, Bose can take the same path and button up the sound on this at higher volumes. I really think it sounds nice and I like the overall speaker itself, it just struggles when you get past around 70-75% even with it's app EQ as flat. And as far as all Bluetooth speakers sounding horrible at max volume, no, that simply isn't the case. Not sure where you came up with that. 🤔
