You may want to go Or Tor Kor Market , it’s close to Chatuchak weekend Market too. It’s has subway station in front of the market. It’s hi end fresh market ( also have foods, fashions and others.)

11:06 What you took was the BTS, not the MRT. They are different systems with different ticketing. In fact there is an MRT station right inside Chatuchak Market: Kampheng Phet.

Just wondering ... why do you have to ride a taxi/car going to Chatuchak market? The Skytrain is a much more fun and cheaper option, IMHO.

Love going to JJ markets on the weekend. Great second hand clothes section where I buy all my RL shirts. There's a few small bars Viva 8 and I'm not sure of the name of the other one. Great selection of homewares if you want to decorate your condo. Best to avoid the animal section. I've been going there for years and always manage to get lost but eventually find my way back out again. It's also always 4 to 5 degrees hotter there than anywhere else! Saturdays are best - Sundays are super busy. Hint for next visit get a Rabbit card for the BTS so you don't have to line up with lots of people.

Suggest you to get lunch and take a stroll at True Digital Park, right off BTS Sukumvit 101 Punnawithi station.
I still do not like the chaos of Bangkok 😂that is why I skip it just flying straight to koh samui.

OMG- I miss traveling in Asia/East Asia as well: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bali, Malaysia, Singapore. I miss it all. I should have become a CZcamsr then but I didn't and I traveled all over the place. Went to some great concerts, ate amazing foods, and seen some amazing places.
It's an awesome market, I was there in 2015. Thanks for taking me back! Loved the Chinese market in the City too.
I'm so keen to get back over to Bangkok/Thailand. Bangkok is such an amazing City it blew me away... Thailand is just beautiful!

you can take the whole 8 hours and film each shop but next day, theres a new shop opening or some new vendor pops in so its impossible to look at every single shop. Its just a very random place

Try not eat anything spicy if you have not eating much...most of the foods are well cooked, should be fine

I was in Bankok one day, a very long wait for plane home to Australia from our flight from Samui, my son & I decided to get a taxi to this market but on arrival we found it 99% of it closed. Noone, including taxi driver informed us it was closed due to Chinese New Year. Was a nightmare getting back to the airport also, hardly anyone spoke English to get taxi to start with. I have to say I am not a fan of cities and this nightmare trip made me hate Bankok and not in the least interested to give it a second try one day lol
So sory for bad taxi driver it's some dark side of this town we knew.
Don’t blame one day of bad luck and poor planning on a city. Bangkok is a wonderful place and it’s doubtful you’ll find another massive city with such kind and friendly people
Maybe the taxi doesn’t know it’s closed? In Thailand, majority of people don’t speak English, it’s the same when you go to Japan, France. Better to do some research before visiting any country.
Travel has its ups and downs, you have to be prepared for things not always going well. Often it is nobody's fault. Take it on the chin and start on the next adventure.
I do research every country I go to, research their customs etc so I do not do the wrong thing etc and nothing about lack of English speaking came up on any search I did. I did not rsearch it thoroughly though as Bankok was not a destination I chose to be in, it was just a stop between flights, think from memory it was a gruesome 10 or so hours before our flight back to Australia. We merely went to the market to waste some time so did not have to hang around the airport for all those hours and as my parents, who had been to Bankok in the past, wanted somethihng and mentioned that market. I hate big cities so it was not a destination I chose to go to or would chose to go to. Lucky I have no intentions of going to France or Japan then if they are the same lol In hindsight, as this was many years ago when I just started travelling overseas=, I should've looked at the lengthy wait between flights and book a hotel so can at least sleep between flights @@vassanab4243
Your probably aware of your weight loss Mandy but just a suggestion , start pigging out occasionally. On the job Lloyd , respectfully get your girl back to a healthy nutriticous feeding frenzy. Safe travels you two but you know what is the concern. Hope your cool with my comments but had a friend super unhealthy in a similar scenario.
