Here's how I spent my first trip to India exploring the backwaters of Alappuzha on a houseboat, visiting the unique Aymanam village and discovering the lush green mountains of Thekkady. Kerala is perfect india entry state to ease into tourism in india..good people..good food..good scenery..good ayurveda, spas, massages...good hospitality..the total package..as other states dont seem to be so tourism oriented
Also terrorism support
And comparatively less chaotic. People can ease into the craziness.
Entry in Kerala exit in Goa or Jaipur. Not against travelling other places but do feel to travel only in safe places in North
You're among the less than 10% of foreigners who actually did proper research before coming to India. People just go to super crowded cities and then complain that it to crowded. India is unlimited. You have to decide what you want to experience
and they get attacked or whatever in these areas too. they go to the most uneducated parts of india thinking it is true india and they ruin the image of india. disgusting really
i respect phoebe. she has a brain unlike most foreigners.
thanks for doing ur research phoebe. glad u had a safe and fun trip. hope you are planning a second trip to india in the near future!

Shame on you 😂
Apart from sight seeing tourism, many of my friends and acquaintances have been visiting Kerala for medical tourism, especially dentistry that cost less than 10 to 15 times what they may have to spend in their native countries such as Australia, NZ, the US, Canada etc. The infrastructure and hygiene is world-class too with most ultra modern equipment and unparalleled expertise of skilled doctors.
Pls mention your home country Name while u are writing bro, we are checking how people thought us and improve further for our state…. ❤❤❤
Isn't it sad that they can literally go to another country and get treated and still would cost much less than their home place especially if you are an American
Im Indian and live in Adelaide...and kerala is a beautiful place the back waters and the food OMG❤❤❤

Welcome to kerala❤
12:15 its called Appam (also known as “palappam”) are tasty, lacy and fluffy pancakes or hoppers from the Kerala cuisine that are made from ground, fermented rice and coconut batter. Thin and crispy around the edges with soft fluffy center appam taste delicious when paired with vegetable stew for a hearty vegetarian breakfast. They also just so happen to be gluten-free and vegan.
Traditionally, appam are fermented with a local alcoholic drink known as toddy - which is a drink made from palm flower or coconut flower. Toddy, which is made from palm flower or coconut flower, is also known as “kallu” in Tamil and Malayalam or “tadi” in Hindi.
Since toddy is not readily available everywhere, I make these appam with yeast. Both dry active yeast and instant yeast works as a good fermenting agent and is easy to find the world over. This, however, does not mean that you cannot make appams without yeast.
Thanks for visiting India 😊 I also visited Kerala in 2019 ,surely the most beautiful state in South India, Greetings from West Bengal
Beautiful place! Definitely on my list! Great adventure, Phoebe!
so happy to hear it's on your list, Mylah! P x

@@travelforphoebewhere from you? What do you do? Is travel vlogging is your primary job or hobby?
In the west, Indian people are kind, law abiding & peaceful. It's a natural extension to the Indian subcontinent to visit Kerela & find it's people are kind, law abiding & peaceful & just as friendly as the visitors to this majestic place in India.
Finally a travel vlogger who's showing the positive side of India. Kerala is a great destination to enjoy nature away from the daily hustle and bustle of city life. I'm from the Eastern part of India, and never been to Kerala, even though I always wanted to, thanks to you Phoebe, now I know places to stop by when I go there. Really appreciate you making this vlog for others to see the good side of India. I hope you you enjoyed your time here, do come back again whenever you get the opportunity, India has a lot more to offer, thanks again.
Thank you for capturing the beauty of Kerala. You have really put in 200% of your energy into this. So proud of my state :)
The Beauty of Kerala is embedded in the hearts of Keralites (Malayalis). Really as Phobe said Kerala is truly the Gateway for tourists into India. Kerala is the most beautiful, versatile, more safe state among all other states in India. 95% Keralites are very friendly, genuine, innocent, sincere, caring, helping😊❤
Love Kerala, esp for the greenery & lovely people. Great editing and background score, keep them coming :)
Thank you so much 🙂

The only place in India that doesn't a get a bad rap from tourist's is Kerala, lots of love from Tamil Nadu, kerala's neighbouring state❤

The interesting part of this video is that your journey from Alappuzha to Thekkady which shows the pristine beauty of Kerala. Your comments on Kerala food was amazing. I really enjoy this video. Thank you for visiting our god's own country. I give you nine out of ten marks for this video.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
Travlling on such a high level of luxory means you don't see India and you miss the greatest sensation : The every day people of India. I've visited India now 5 times , always for a few months . I just got a very little idea about this beautiful, diverse and hospital country and the nicest people on earth. Namaskaram / namaste from Germany.
I love India.
It's not luxury in Kerala. Kerala is the most developed state in India. UNDP rated HDI to be very high in kerala comparable to some developed countries. Kerala also has the highest literacy rate in India at 95%. Gdp per capita is also higher than most states of India. This is just normal in kerala and she only visited Kerala.
Your happiness is so infectious!!! I found myself smiling just by watching your radiant smile...
Your magical journey is awesome... Love from Kerala, India 💖🙏🇮🇳✌️💖

Wow! What an amazing place to visit. So much of it's own unique flavour. Too many people don't get that travel is about more than beaches and bars. Kerala looks like a place that can change you a little bit. On a side note I'm a liitle bit less envious of you this week as I am writing this from the Algarve. 😊

Doing it this way would be a perfect way for me too! I think the larger cities would over stimulating for me.
My husband’s ancestry is Indian and we really would love to explore this side of his heritage! Thanks for showing us a more laid back side to India! ❤
Yes I totally hear you! I think Kerala is such a chilled out gateway to India :) Especially as you head further out. Even though it was nothing like what I imagine Delhi and Mumbai to be like, I even noticed it was a little busier in Kochi! Would absolutely recommend you visit Kerala and make that your first experience in India and with your husband there, it would make the trip even more special! P x
Yes the best places to visit are the West-Coast, North-East and the Himalayan region.

Watching you smile, laugh, and dance throughout this video is so joyful. It’s so obvious you had a life memory trip!
* Great info about the visa-that can cause such a hiccup for travelers. Saw quite a few unprepared travelers from the US in NZ and Australia who learned the hard way!
* Happy with the city name lettering? I know I am-I really like how you’re doing it.
* I can only imagine the challenges of filming yourself by yourself! Be assured that you’re doing it with such ease (or at least that’s how it looks!). I also like how, in these past few videos, you’ve found cool ways to do it! Keep at it-keep being creative-it’s so fun to watch you grow into this new style.
* Perfect place to visit you day and I suggest it was the perfect way to do it-with fellow vloggers and (I’m hoping for you) new friends. (They obviously helped on some of your B-roll shots of you having a great time of your life!).
* India had to be a great place for you to indulge in great food that agrees with you!
* Wow…that river cruise looked amazing!
* Very cool to give credits to your fellow vloggers!
* Travel for Phoebe always includes a quick one and one talk from you to us. This is one of the best things you do. Tell us why you’re having a great time and why we should follow in your footsteps. And I can attest, having done so and still doing so this week, that we should all follow in your footsteps!
* Jealous-guy on the river doesn’t even know that he got a personal GMYG!!! 😂
* You obviously had a great time Phoebe-so happy for you.
* Can’t wait to see where you go next! See you next week.
Rob&Erin
hahaha a personal GMYG! hahaha oh my gosh :) That really cracked me up, Rob! Hope you are both loving life in NZ!! Excited for you to see all the episodes I have planned for us all for the coming months! WOOHOO! Travel safe you two. P x
Surprised to see my hometown Aymanam pop up on this vlog!!! Spice routes is probably the best houseboat service in Kerala, we recently did an 80pax engagement ceremony on their biggest air conditioned houseboat and it was spectacular.

Hiya! Never been to India, but met a lot of Indian people and they are so lovely. The nature you were driving past was so green, love it. Buffet lunch looks so good, Indian cuisine is very good. I love tikka masala and butter chicken, just made without the onion and garlic so my stomach won’t get upset. By the way, you inspired me with your Disney adventure in Tokyo so I went to Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park last weekend and it was truly amazing (apart from the Thalys ride back from Marne-La-Vallee to Rotterdam). Thank you for inspiring me and keep up the good work. Have an amazing week 🤙
I knowwwww! Indian food is next level 🥰 hahaha so happy you went to Disneyland!! Hope you had a great day there 🥰♥️
But the tikka masala and butter chicken are not south Indian. Its not Kerala's food. Visit us ❤️.
Thank you for showing the beautiful side of India ❤
I don’t know how you are actually feeling there. But you look happy in the video and that’s what is needed. Hope you are having the best time in India.

It is! A room for 50$ ! . I Visited India now 5 times always for minimum 3 months and I never payed more than 8$ for a hotel. That means I always lived with the everyday people, travelled with them in the same train or bus . So I saw the real treasure of India: The Indian people. I travelled a lot and I never met people that are so warm , Friendly, helpful and hospital as the Indians are. . They made me feel more at home in India than in my home country Germany.
You dont meet these people in 50$ - hotels. BTW I just prepare for my next visit starting in january until June interrupted by 30 days in Sri lanka. I'm so happy to see my Indian friends again.
Love the blog next time I'm going to be there thanks for this nice blog

Welcome again to Kerala... You will not find any other beautiful place in this world than Kerala to enjoy the life style of the common people of India and the beautiful natural beauty... Thank you for spreading the goodness of our country to the outside world.
Thanks for the tips!
Beauty of Kerala ❤
KERALA is Entirely different from other parts of India. As a keralite who lives abroad I can tell that white folks only know India as butter chicken and naan or some shitty street food but it’s not us. Kerala is so diverse and green. Make sure to visit every state of Kerala every district has its own unique beauty.
I accept that Kerala is a beautiful part of India but please don't talk nonsense about others, butter chicken was originally of India you can call it over rated but saying sh*t is a bit negative. India is a diverse country and different people have different opinions, each state of India holds a special culture and heritage in which Kerala is a proficient one. So bro as an Indian my India is beautiful and Kerala is the part of that.
As a Keralite, I feel it's not good to demean the cuisine of other places just to praise our's.
Our India is beautiful just like you. 💕
Looks stunning!!
Lots of love from kerala...☺️😘
Thanks so much for watching!

Looks like a great time. Was super curious to see your reaction to Kerala. Never been to that part of India myself, but I know that Oberoi has (or maybe used to have) a river cruise boat there that went on multi-day journeys, but I wasn't quite sure what the attraction was. Your video really helped explain that. Would you have liked a longer cruise, or was 2-days/1-night the right amount of time?
Yeah I definitely would've liked to have spent 2 nights on the backwaters cruise! It goes so quick and the sunset is incredible, I would really have liked to have experienced that twice :)
First of all I would like to thank you for sharing this vlog of kerela with us ❤
