I've tested pillar on the PTS, it's still more than fine, the damage drop is minimal and it's still better by a significant amount over the new sorc class set (5-10%).

This change will probably impact my wealth quite a bit,😢 but I still think it’s a good change. This is a corrective action on ZOS’s part. What jewelry crafting became, it never should have been.
I agree completely, but I believe before crafting existed back then in the game golden jeweler was incredibly rare so I suppose they wanted uphold that idea

Honestly, if I was Zos... I would add a special vendor that sells crown crates for gold. Now, it would solve one major issue, which is as time goes on the amount of gold is only getting larger and larger.

Half of the game content is limited to people who buy it with real money but that content was available with gold/ crown exchange before making it practically free to play for those who only had to farm constantly. Basically you only had to buy the game and then try hard to experience the rest but now it is fully pay to play so if they add a crowns vendor it will make all that content available for everyone with gold again but way more expensive (practically free to play again) and yeah worse than the gift system

Because at that point, you might as well say anyone who sells paid runs, anyone who sells in guild traders, sells items to NPC vendors, repairs armor at NPC vendors is a free to play player. Like you still are going to need to try. All the in-game items that sell for a lot are locked behind, and get this difficult content or content that you have to grind multiple days/weeks/months to get. And yes, it's going to be more expensive than crown gifting. (Also, it's probably going to be at a even higher rate for console players. Because crowns on console normally would sell 100 gold to 1 crown)

What this means is that pgold plates will be more or less in line with wax. While other rare but desirable items like rare/hard to get Motif will inflate as wealth hoarders will move into the next non delflatable store of wealth. Unless zos make gold meaningful and has more ultilty than what it is now, gold will continue to deflate. If only zos would be less greedy and make gold to crown official in game. The economy will be more stable and engaging to interact with for everyone.

It’s only going to be deflationary for the price of platings. The knock on effect will be inflation for other items. Ultimately inflation is driven by increasing the money supply, and without a gold sink it will continue unabated, it just might be less concentrated to a few platings after this change. If no other similarly rare item can take its place you will see a rise in pricing across the board to compensate. I don’t mind this change, but it’s ultimately an example of treating the symptoms rather than trying to cure the disease.

Honestly, the only people who'll be complaining about this change are the people who were gouging the market and inflating the economy. But I doubt you'll see prices drop. Too many people are greedy and just won't let go of how much they currently cost. At least at first, not much will change, despite how much the market will now be flooded. So I was playing on PS4/5 in Summerset. (PCna now, and prices are far more out of control , it's insane) Purple plates were going for 20k at the time. Everyone said the prices would drop over time, because mats were rare ATM, and the more material over time added to traders would result in price drops.... except that didn't happen, it went up. Currently purple plates on PSna are sitting at 35/40k and the market is full of them. This is why I'm not buying in to prices will drop because of the market being flooded. That might be the case in real life, but it hasn't shown that to work in ESO. 🤷
The prices will have to drop. There will be a huge influx of all the platings. Just simple supply and demand. Not to mention that, at most, you only need to gold out 3 pieces of jewelry, where you need 5 pieces of armor. So as prices adjust they should stabilize below dreugh wax, maybe around the price of tempering alloy. The bigger question, to me, is about master writs. Gold master writs give upwards of 600 writ vouchers in many cases and purples often around 200. I believe they said they would be adjusting new master writs (after the update), but would leave all current master writ values the same. Can anyone verify that? So would be wise to buy up as many of the current ones as you have space for (at reasonable prices).
The blue jewelry master writ will be obsolete in update 40. How about those we currently own? Will they disappear after maintenance, or we can still turn in the writ using fewer mats?
a good start to a massive problem, granted my wealth will also be gone, but it will make new players feel less likely to quit hopefully. now they need to adjust other things too but its a good start!
I have 10 characters doing daily crafting writs everyday, but I am considering boosting that up as much as possible until U40 to get as many mats for jewellry and master writs. All of my 20 characters are lvl 50 in all crafting professions so that's not a concern, just need if anything AT LEAST for jewellry daily writs.
The greatest consequence will be to trading guilds. Some trading guilds are spending 50 to 80 million a week to rent a good trader and if the bottom falls out of the cost of goods players will hold onto gold and trading guilds could go broke and desolve because of it. That is, if the cost of traders doesn't drop instantly or within a few weeks. This could potentially crash the trader market. We will have to see though. Could you imagine if only 5 or 10 trader guilds survived? It could be catastrophic. Could kill the game if you couldn't find what you need because you were trying to find it in zone chats. Zone chats would be chaos. Lol
What about if players will sell master writs for more expensive? I'm suggesting the prices of current state platings will be same price as master writs depending on quality. There will be huuge demand on having more writ vouchers because ppl want to reach every single crafting set existing in the game with attunable crafting stations + need to get grand master crafting stations that also cost a bit per each. This would make more sence to make mats cheaper.But for that place master writs will get more expensive.
Do the furniture requirements change too? Until now most of the golden jewelry stuff was frankly to expensive for my stingy butt, but with those changes i would probably cract them a bit more often 😅
Paydirt for some, I suppose. If you're not much of a crafter and just stockpile mats. I have 27 Chromium and 80 Zircon in PTS, because I actively craft the fuck out of stuff. The two lesser platings came out to easily over a thousand each though.
On the off chance that you're not being sarcastic, a carry service is a group of people who will carry a person through difficult content for a price. For example, a group might carry a person through the Vet Cloudrest trial for millions of gold.
The economy difference between PSNA and PCNA is hilarious. 60k average price of chromium plating. I bought what I could find for grains at low price, but I'm seeing gold grains rising to 30k.

I still trying to wrap my head around this. Blue writs are still low vouchers reward but now cheaper to make. So blue writs are now worth doing but they were removed. Gold writs should be MUCH less than the ~600 vouchers so pre-patch ones are the ones to buy up. New crafting stations are going to be in non-guild houses now. The GM station swallows up attunable stations. All bought with vouchers. This seems to move inflation to the voucher currency. Will crafters sitting on 100’s of thousands of vouchers be able to siphon gold selling the stations? Because vouchers are still not easy to get. You need writs and the drop rate for them does not change. Blues are gone remember. This is going to take some pondering.
On the fence with this. In a game with limited end game rewards the addition of jewelry crafting just took away any reward value for having earned gold jewelry naturally and basically anyone can just pic it up off ground. Flash forward a few years and at this point its just another thing we lose again because now its even easier to get. Might as well just remove gold jewelry from pvp vendor, leaderboards, and vet trial because they are nothing special anymore.

I’ve always wondered why pricing on PC was so much higher than on console. Carry pricing is outrages and far worse on PC than console. My question is. What needs to happen to get all the players that left to come back? Crafting isn’t it and the two player dungeon will lose its appeal once the sets are collected.
You misunderstand what's happening with blue jc writs. Those existing in game will be unaffected, just like the other writs. Blue writs will no longer drop in the update. There isn't a need for them anymore since the blues were created specifically to address the mats issue.
I think we can pretty much throw all data out on what the chromium platings cost now. Instead we should look at were the other golden materials are now for a price. Looking a supply and demand I think it will be slightly more expensive than Dreugh wax. like 10-20% in the long run.
most likely prices will not change at best getting it yourself will get easier. due to how broken trading guilds are. jewelry upgradeing may get easier and it will depend how much of this plating can be gotten from ores and tradeing cost it self. if ore still give a low amount, then no price drop. plating then prices may stay if trading costs same do not expect also if all hit their equipment at gold, prices and demand will drop even further since less will need the resource. guild trade allways is and allways was inflated never was point for it. due to they always 100% - 3000% overcharged and that aspect will not change. due to the forced cost trinkled down to all traders. and even changeing the cost will not drop prices, it will just translate to more profit. thats why cheapest is getting it gifted or by gathering it yourself this alwlays was and will be the cases nomatter what the devs try to do.

never ever refine per instant refine it gives alot less due to refine chance is actually per button press. so if want loose high quality item you do it via the instant button😂. if do it manual every press has then a chance to create best crafting part, where as instant it one chance for the full stack. what can diffrent between 0 to a few 100+ depeneding on the amount you refine and your luck. meanign in manual if its a 1000 stack you have chance to get upto 500 on manual in instant it ruffly gives 10-20 for the exact 1000 stack. so yeah manual is allways bettter since instant ruffly can delete 90%+ of your high cost resource that you have a chance to actually get.
instant refine is limited to 100 stacks since it does not scale with amount used its allways spits out ruffly 10-20 as fix scaling vaule so the more you dump in the more you loose
manually refine still awards best high quality material resource output. it that majority of player are not aware that they are deleting high vaule resources by useing it.
and yea if do it manually you receive on a manual 100 stack same or more amount high quality resource then a 1000+ stack instant refine will give you😂.

Pillar nirf like 1-2k dps loss. Its not that big of a deal. Pillar shouldn't be more than 8% of your dps.

I've been playing this for about four years now and I always would steer clear of chromium platings in guild traders.
It's crazy.

I have 10 characters doing daily crafting writs everyday, but I am considering boosting that up as much as possible until U40 to get as many mats for jewellry and master writs. All of my 20 characters are lvl 50 in all crafting professions so that's not a concern, just need if anything AT LEAST for jewellry daily writs.

The greatest consequence will be to trading guilds. Some trading guilds are spending 50 to 80 million a week to rent a good trader and if the bottom falls out of the cost of goods players will hold onto gold and trading guilds could go broke and desolve because of it. That is, if the cost of traders doesn't drop instantly or within a few weeks. This could potentially crash the trader market. We will have to see though. Could you imagine if only 5 or 10 trader guilds survived? It could be catastrophic. Could kill the game if you couldn't find what you need because you were trying to find it in zone chats. Zone chats would be chaos. Lol
It would be better if the devs wouldn’t zone lock abilities such as crafting jewelry, able to get a companion and etc.

I'm suggesting the prices of current state platings will be same price as master writs depending on quality.
There will be huuge demand on having more writ vouchers because ppl want to reach every single crafting set existing in the game with attunable crafting stations + need to get grand master crafting stations that also cost a bit per each.
This would make more sence to make mats cheaper.But for that place master writs will get more expensive.

Do the furniture requirements change too? Until now most of the golden jewelry stuff was frankly to expensive for my stingy butt, but with those changes i would probably cract them a bit more often 😅
Paydirt for some, I suppose. If you're not much of a crafter and just stockpile mats. I have 27 Chromium and 80 Zircon in PTS, because I actively craft the fuck out of stuff. The two lesser platings came out to easily over a thousand each though.

The economy difference between PSNA and PCNA is hilarious. 60k average price of chromium plating. I bought what I could find for grains at low price, but I'm seeing gold grains rising to 30k.

@@williamgrant7391 The refining rate is around a half a percent with max capability. Considering when I refine I do tens of thousands at a time I will go with what numbers I get.

Blue writs are still low vouchers reward but now cheaper to make. So blue writs are now worth doing but they were removed.
Gold writs should be MUCH less than the ~600 vouchers so pre-patch ones are the ones to buy up.
New crafting stations are going to be in non-guild houses now. The GM station swallows up attunable stations. All bought with vouchers. This seems to move inflation to the voucher currency. Will crafters sitting on 100’s of thousands of vouchers be able to siphon gold selling the stations? Because vouchers are still not easy to get. You need writs and the drop rate for them does not change. Blues are gone remember.

On the fence with this. In a game with limited end game rewards the addition of jewelry crafting just took away any reward value for having earned gold jewelry naturally and basically anyone can just pic it up off ground. Flash forward a few years and at this point its just another thing we lose again because now its even easier to get. Might as well just remove gold jewelry from pvp vendor, leaderboards, and vet trial because they are nothing special anymore.

You misunderstand what's happening with blue jc writs. Those existing in game will be unaffected, just like the other writs. Blue writs will no longer drop in the update. There isn't a need for them anymore since the blues were created specifically to address the mats issue.
I think we can pretty much throw all data out on what the chromium platings cost now. Instead we should look at were the other golden materials are now for a price. Looking a supply and demand I think it will be slightly more expensive than Dreugh wax. like 10-20% in the long run.
most likely prices will not change at best getting it yourself will get easier. due to how broken trading guilds are. jewelry upgradeing may get easier and it will depend how much of this plating can be gotten from ores and tradeing cost it self. if ore still give a low amount, then no price drop. plating then prices may stay if trading costs same do not expect also if all hit their equipment at gold, prices and demand will drop even further since less will need the resource. guild trade allways is and allways was inflated never was point for it. due to they always 100% - 3000% overcharged and that aspect will not change. due to the forced cost trinkled down to all traders. and even changeing the cost will not drop prices, it will just translate to more profit. thats why cheapest is getting it gifted or by gathering it yourself this alwlays was and will be the cases nomatter what the devs try to do.

Jewelry been stupidly expensive ever since it came out with Summerset. Literally everybody said right there right then that it's stupid and it shouldn't be the case. That was 5 years ago. I'm sorry, but changes like this, even if they're ultimately good, can only be seen as a clown move when they're made so damn late. ESO is on its way out already, great time to finally start listening to feedback. Can't wait for the same shit to repeat itself with Mandalorian MMO or whatever they're making now.
So I was playing on PS4/5 in Summerset. Purple plates were going for 20k at the time. Everyone said the prices would drop over time, because mats were rare ATM, and the more material over time added to traders would result in price drops.... except that didn't happen, it went up.
Currently purple plates on PSna are sitting at 35/40k.
This is why I'm not buying in to prices will drop because of the market being flooded. That might be the case in real life, but it hasn't shown that to work in ESO. 🤷
Have a question. How does the drop from a platinum node work now? Example being, so when you farm it will yield chromium plates?
You wait till you get around 100 from the nodes, then refine it and youll get 1-3 plats.

never ever refine per instant refine it gives alot less due to refine chance is actually per button press. so if want loose high quality item you do it via the instant button😂. if do it manual every press has then a chance to create best crafting part, where as instant it one chance for the full stack. what can diffrent between 0 to a few 100+ depeneding on the amount you refine and your luck. meanign in manual if its a 1000 stack you have chance to get upto 500 on manual in instant it ruffly gives 10-20 for the exact 1000 stack. so yeah manual is allways bettter since instant ruffly can delete 90%+ of your high cost resource that you have a chance to actually get.
instant refine is limited to 100 stacks since it does not scale with amount used its allways spits out ruffly 10-20 as fix scaling vaule so the more you dump in the more you loose
reason was to drain high quality resources from the market that why it was implemented like this in the first place.
thats why if you want most resources from your raws do it manually since it will on big stacks give you more then instant refine ever can
manually refine still awards best high quality material resource output. it that majority of player are not aware that they are deleting high vaule resources by useing it.
and yea if do it manually you receive on a manual 100 stack same or more amount high quality resource then a 1000+ stack instant refine will give you😂.

Once again ZOS making it easy for new players, i’m not happy. My gold jewelry over the years is now cheap shit. Everyone in pvp will now have a fully golded build & the skill gap has already been super closed with this meta & now it’s even smaller.
