Orlieb Saddle Bag 0.8l which I purchased many weeks back and decided it was time to put a review out with my thoughts. Nothing bad to say, price good, bag big enough for tools and 2x tubes, doesn't rattle and very waterproof... Great for this time of year, gets the thumbs up from me:)

And it’s orange! 👍
Andy Stead 😍😎🤪👍
I've been in wondering if the bag would be big enough for my bicycle edc, but this video made new think that I maby even would prefer the 0.5l version. Thanks for the review.
My Crankbrothers speedier lever is around 15cm in length and anything longer than that maybe not good for the 0.5l bag. Cheers for your comment and feedback, appreciated.😊👍
Great Review 👍 I’ve been looking at these but couldn’t really gauge size between them, you show perfectly how much space there is, and what it looks like on the bike. You also look a lot like me, but a touch younger, and more fashionable 😆. Many thanks....
Alexander Cavendish Simson that’ll be the first time in a long time I’ve been called young and fashionable, or more so, don’t spoil it for me😉😁 Glad you found the review helpful though as is what I set out to do. I purchased the 0.5lt in Black for my road bike, much smaller and quite stealth. Really good quality for the money as well. Thanks Alexander appreciate the feedback and you dropping by😊👍
Nice review, i have the same bag and there's just enough room for one spare inner tube that fits my 650B 2.1 Maxxis lol. I like it nonetheless.
Thanks for the feedback Curt, and dropping by😊👍
Nice big opening to the bag
Retro Dude, Old man on his bikes yes, makes life a lot easier this time of year when wearing gloves. Appreciate you looking in man😊👍
Amazing how much stuff you had in that bag - all eventualities covered pretty much. Ortlieb gear can be a bit spendy, but you do get what you pay for - well made kit and with all the spare parts you might need readily available too, unlike with some manufacturers. Good stuff!
Mick S Ortlieb is expensive, but did think the price for this bag was good for what you get. Wait till my Frame Bag review, that was expensive 🙄😊 Thanks for looking in Mick appreciated😊👍
Good review on the bag James,
thought you were going to pull a kitchen sink out as well, after pulling all that other gear out😅😅
Paul K thanks Paul, it does hold a lot of stuff which can never be a enough, specially in this weather as per spare inner tubes. Though I think the kitchen sink would have been overkill 🤣 Appreciate your comment mate😊👍
Great review James. Buying one today.
Paul Winchcombe glad my review helped Paul😊👍
Seems like a good saddle bag; you have two spare inner tyres, but only one canister co2? You also have a pump with you i assume? Maybe also throw a few self adhesive patches in, or patches and some glue. Not much what will stop you.
Yes I carry a pump as well. Never had too much luck with those patches. Cheers for dropping by😊👍
Yep, I'm liking this saddle bag, I feel a sympathy for myself purchase coming on 😉🤣🤣
thx man , i ame a huge fan of ortlieb .
Gino Janssen no worries dude. I have the 0.5l in black on my Trek Emonda😊 Thanks for the comment👍
Good Review James
Mark Overall thanks Mark😊
Great review...bag looks good...I don’t suppose you could give the length of the bag when it is done up ? I just want to know if my mini pump will fit in. Merry Xmas too 🎄🎄
Kermit Frog the official depth is 14cm, but you could probably stretch the bag without stress another 2cm, mine measures 16cm in length as it is now full. Hope this helps. They do bigger saddle bags, check out the web, all made the same way. Thanks Merry Christmas 🎄
Thats great....helps a lot....thankyou sooo much 👍👍
Kermit Frog 😊👍
Is this saddlebag secure enough for a mountain bike so it won’t fall off when trail riding?I have a dropper post and am looking at the 0.5 version of this bag. Cheers!
Hi Billy, I can only vouch for using this saddle bag on gravel routes which also have some nice single track runs and I’ve never had any issues with this bag. A positive will be the 0.5lt bag(which I have on my Trek Emonda) will be lighter. I took this bag apart from my bike only a couple of days ago and was pleasantly surprised how the bolts and nuts had not rusted, they looked as good as new and it had not come loose either. I will be doing a review on this bag as well since I had seen this, but not yet.
The bag will rattle about and you’ll need to make sure the bag is full so nothing internally rattles also, but I think you’ll have to do a lot to damage of destroy the bracket.
Hope this helps and thanks for dropping by😊👍
@@JamesSocialCycling Hi, James. I appreciate the reply and the information. I went ahead an ordered the O.5 bag but am looking forward to your future review on it. Cheers!
Hello James.
Thanks for your review, I was wondering if you've tried it off road, IE mountain biking...
Has it been durable and remained water proof... I have a dropper post and this looks Ideal...
One thing missing seems to be a loop to secure a clip on light...
And thoughts on this would be appreciated.
PS may be I should've read the comments below... 😉
I take it you read the other comment referring to MTB-ing and this bag. I’m still surprised as to how the product has lasted. I used this on my Topstone, so have been off road and done some single track. I also use the .5 saddle bag on my Trek Road bike and have had no issues. It will rattle about so just make sure you fill the bag, as noises bags can be annoying. Thanks for the feedback it’s really appreciated 😊👍
