Verse 1: Laura Les]
Hey, you little piss baby
You think you're so fucking cool? Huh?
You think you're so fucking tough?
You talk a lotta big game for someone with such a small truck
Aw, look at those arms
Your arms look so fucking cute, they look like lil' cigarettes
I bet I could smoke you, I could roast you
And then you'd love it and you'd text me "I love you"
And then I'd fucking ghost you
[Chorus: Laura Les]
With the big boys coming with the big stuff
I feel so clean like a money machine, oh yeah
Big boys coming with the big trucks
Feel so clean like a money machine, oh yeah
Big boys coming with the big trucks
Feel so clean like a money machine, oh yeah
Big boys coming with the picture
Feel so clean like a money machine, oh yeah (oh yeah)
[Post-Chorus: Laura Les]
Feel so clean like a money machine
Feel so clean like a money machine
Feel so clean like a money machine
Feel so clean like a money machine
Verse 2: Dylan Brady]
Tell me what's the deal, I've been tryin' to go to bed
I've been up for days, I've been tryna get ahead
Said it all before, and I'll say it once again
I'm better off alone
Tell me what's the deal, I've been tryin' to go to bed
I've been up for days, I've been tryna get ahead
Said it all before, and I'll say it once again
I'm better off alone
[Chorus: Laura Les]
With the big boys coming with the big stuff
I feel so clean like a money machine, oh yeah
Big boys coming with the big trucks
Feel so clean like a money machine, oh yeah
Big boys coming with the big trucks
Feel so clean like a money machine, oh yeah

Feel so clean like a money machine

Feel so clean like a money machine
Feel so clean like a money machine
I thought this was a DAMN GOOD album and an incredible debut. I REALLY wish Rage could've been the closer. OMG didnt belong on the album. But besides that, it's an incredible album to me. Top 5 of 2017 so far in my opinion.
me to
@@uncledrakey pretty sure both rage and omg are meant to be bonus tracks and that we could be free is the closer

So glad you gave Vic a chance, I love you, son!
I liked the album a bit more than you did, but I can definitely understand where you're coming from. I also thought that he could have done more with the concept that he tried to put across and I felt that he came up a bit short at times. I thought his singing was okay, better than most rappers who try to sing, and thought his rap technique throughout the album was quite acceptable. I've been waiting for almost four years for Vic to release his official debut album and I felt that it was good, not great. I think he has more in store for the future.
Oh, and don't think I didn't catch that Ty Dollar Sign pun there. You ain't slick.
You should review Nyck @ Knight next so people can go check out the album
I LOVE NYCK CAUTION!! HE'S ELITE!!
Fr he reviewed Kirk knights solo project and Nyck @ Knight is way better. Kirks rapping improved a ton
Marlon Garcia fr on Twitter I saw that he was listening to it. So, hopefully he'll eventually review it.
This album is underrated I have it on vinyl and it sounds beautiful
Agree i love homewrecker
agreed. theres def some corny stuff but if you ignore those lines, its really beautiful, emotional, and deep
I would have personally given it at least a 7. I LOVED how raw, emotional and honest this project was. But I also respect that you and I may just have different taste in music. Great review! Cheers.
You cannot sit here and tell me the song “say I didn’t” didn’t resonate with anything at your core, it brought back memories of people from my past and tbh most of this album did just that. The appeal with vic’a music is honestly his relatability
Anthony Scarramucci get outta here
Hidan Le got fired for not doing the fandango
Sam Hyde > Vic Berger > Vic Mensa
Love this album
Favourite quote from any song is in ‘homewrecker’
‘I know you were crazy but not this crazy’
I liked say I didn’t
Yeaa was hoping you would cover this. Hated mixtapes but this album is excellent.
Thanks, melon.
Hey @theneedledrop or Anthony Fantano.
Just out of curiosity, how do you go about listening to albums? Simply put what are your steps when you approach an album you want to review (do you listen to it alongside the lyrics? do you listen to it twice over?)
(This has nothing to do with the review) Why does everyone hate on Vic? Am I missing something? I think his shit is dope, not the greatest but still dope...
Hes known for being... not great.
He had a pretty small abuse scandal, and then made a statement denouncing x for abuse after he died. It still shouldn't affect his scores though
do you ever have suicidal thoughts melon?
dudes only hate on Vic because of akademiks tbh
nope I hate on him because he's a fake ass poser and who the fuck is akademuks
ruby the most eccentric gerb. the guy just seems fake idk who akedemics is
Ultra lord lookin ass
After his debut tape I literally have not found one song that I like for more than 3 or 4 days. It's not just me, he's in a great position to succeed and look at how forgettable he's become. If he didn't threaten the chipmunk, hardly anyone would care about this project.
Pedro Sanchez ye
I understand that when listening to a lot of music you tend to compare sounds but man the beginning of this review was annoying. We are at a point in music where nothing is truly original anymore so sometimes things will sound similar, but unless it's stated by the artist I think it's a stretch to say that they were taking the style of someone else. I don't necessarily blame you for making connections to other projects but to me personally it didnt feel as blatant as you seemed to imply.
Overall I enjoyed this album. I'm very into this kind of storytelling so it sat with me pretty well. Thought the rating was pretty much on the nose (7\10 for me personally) and you made some excellent points about the weak points of Vic's lyrics. Homewrecker didn't offend me as much because on my 2nd listen I just chalked it up to his own personal feelings on the issue. Those which I may not agree with, but on a project meant to be this personal I don't expect to see eye to eye with the artist on every concept. Heaven on Earth was my favorite track as I was really impressed with the concept of humanizing the person who took your friends life. Showed quite a bit of maturity in that.
Vic Mensa is king cornball
blogfirstlast that title belongs to hopsin
Ever heard of logic.
his personality, not his music
he's starting to be up there with Hopsin, Logic, and Big Sean lmao
Nathan Phillips Big Sean corny too? Wow that’s a first
Oh look no Somali pirate and melon jokes, holy fucking hell it's much better than i thought it would be
Ninjafu YTP bish didn't you get the news , we're not doing this no more.
Hey man, do you only do reviews based on mass request? I was looking to get my new EP reviewed mostly cuz i wanna kno youre opinion on it rather than the exposure.
How come almost every other rapper you're saying they're a copy of others.
Anthony the type of CZcamsr to work hard and give great content several times a week
Why do people make a big deal about people being corny? Eminem and Kanye have tons of corny bars yet they're considered some of the greatest rappers of all time.
its the hype, its cool to say they corny at the moment
and yes ye has some of the corniest lines even in his prime but hes still a great artist in my opinion
corny trying to be serious is corny. Corny while being self aware is good.
both of them have enough great and iconic music and bars and have had enough of an impact on the culture to make up for some small corny moments imo
STICMAN1234 yeah because kanye was being self aware with the corny bars on wolves
Im a big fan of Vic and this project. I think a 6 is very reasonable. He surprised me with the sound on this record and at first I wasn't feeling it what so ever. After about 4 full listens I came to really enjoy the project for the first time. As of now I've heard the record well over ten times and I can confidently say that it will be one of my favorites of the year. Call me a cornball but I cant get enough of the love ballads on the record, they just have that timeless feel thats absent in some of the more mainstream music today. Like Anthony mentioned Vic really put me in the mood for MBDTF era Kanye as well as food and liquor era Lupe. Considering Innanettape is one of my favorite mixtapes of all time I knew Vic would have to conjure up some magic to make me enjoy The Autobiography as much I did his first project, but im really digging what he put out and will have it in my playlist for a good while. On a side not I really wish he had found a way to incorporate 3AM into the track list; I find myself listening to the live version more often than not.
My first listen to the album, I wasn't fully paying attention to the content. But I felt the way it sound progressed throughout the album. I plan to listen again to see I how I really feel.
I could tell by your face in the thumbnail that this was a 5 or 6, and I haven't even heard this album. lol
DJ Akademiks the type of n.... whoops wrong video
The ones always saying Vic Mensa is corny are the same ones blasting Migos every chance they get the aux

Yo big fan of your vids. But I was wondering if you could possibly do a review of Milo/scallop hotel new mixtape called "Over the Carnage rose a voice prophetic" b4 Milo new album drops if so that would be cool
Why CZcams giving me late notifications, the video already has 213 views.
I can already see Vic coming at you for this review. Be prepared melon!
Finally got a chance to listen and I thought it was pretty good. I thought his lyrics and flow were dope especially on songs like "memories on 47th", "the fire next time", heaven on earth". I also thought "Rage" was one of the dopest tracks which has a great video by the way. It had a great beat, great lyrics and Vic's voice sounded good when singing. Honestly I don't feel his singing is bad at all. I think you need to take another serious listen to the album.
I hadn't even realized Weezer was featured on "Homewrecker", and it was actually the only track on the album I could really vibe to despite the problematic lyrics. I like the melody (?). I'll give the record another listen though. Great review
Guys, it's classic/10
You can leave now
VIC MENSA THE NEW WALE YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST
Wtf... I didn't even know this guy (Vic) and just listen to this without expecting much. But this happens to be the first time Melon and I completely agree with each other on an album. This is a special moment for me guys. Now I can die in peace
I was just searching for you review of this album.
Raise your hand if melon needs to review Daniel Caesar!!!!!!!!!!!!🎙🎙
I remember liking the album a lot until I heard the song "Homewrecker" and thought holy shit what a Dbag lol
Love Vic but I respect the score. I loved some of the sentiments but there were alot of tracks on the album that just didn't engage me. I think the next one he'll find his sound and hit it out the park; I predict a strong 8 on the next album.
It was released a month ago, but will you review royal blood- how did we get so dark?
Vic fell off so hard, man. INNANETAPE is one of the best bodies of music to drop this decade. Even his first ever work in Straight Up EP is pretty solid. Dude took too long to get the singles and good songs pushing out after those. Finally drops There's A Lot Going On, which simply exists. Pretty forgettable release. Continues to do virtually nothing after that until The Manuscript, which was released way too close to the album. Finally drops his debut album nearly 4 years after his breakout project. But nothing was holding this album up, or any of the other tracks he's released since 2013 (other than "U Mad"). I was a huge Vic fan. But he's pretty much faded into the background at this point. And when you think about it, aside from a very few, the whole Chicago renaissance that happened years ago has grown stale too. Main standouts that are still tight are Mick, Joey, and Noname.
Slame333 I fucking feel you
Yeah I feel you and Joey if ur talking joey badass is NY. And ever since Chance traded the acid for a bible Chicago's scene has died
Lmao innanetape was so inconsistent it is not nearly "one of the best of the decade"
Mr. Super Fly It actually is though. Not everything has to be a masterpiece from top to bottom in order to be one of the best albums to drop. The first half of that project is really good. The production is tight, Vic knows how to make things his on it, his bars are fresh for most of it. It oozes potential just as Acid Rap and other projects that came out that year did. It's not really inconsistent at all. Any debut project is going to be like that at times bc they're still trying to discover what they are and what they want to sound like.
TheWhiteKirby He's talking about Joey Purp
don't let this make you forget that Vic wears eyeliner
i known its too late to reply, but every rapper in the (new) game wears eyeliner [
Even before listening to Anthony's review I just want to say this album was amazing in my point of view. It was well crafted, lyrically, sonically, and his delivery was on point. Great artist!
What band is on his shirt? some1 help plz
I swear I was like when Tony gon review this, then looked and it said posted 1 min ago
How much did Akademiks pay you for this?
Hey I know you don't normally score tracks but you're gonna give gummy an 11 right?
Anthony, i would like to see a review about the albums of the band "Pentakill" they are promo albuns from the game League of Legends and for me are MASTAHPIECES, would you please at least listen to them? keep it up, luv your work!
This review was everything I wanted. I like this project think its a 7/10 but man u got me laughing over these corny lines.
7/10 Album
10/10 review melon
So, according to theneedledrop, DAMN. is only one score higher than this meh album. Makes sense.
Any reason why you don't play the soundtrack on the background? Quite difficult to agree with you without listening to the songs.
Danniel Bandeira Copyright
Hi, Anthony. Will you review new Faust's record - Fresh Air?
Boonk gang
Gotta make sure I rub one out before I watch a review from theneedledrop, because I know Anthony can't satisfy me anymore
damn
I'm sorry but I love this album. I don't understand many of your points on why you don't like it. This album compiles so many of the struggles that many of us face into an incredibly relatable album. Vic speaks on death of loved ones, relationship issues, addiction, depression, and much more. This is the embodiment of someone who turned their life around and made it through all of life's struggles. This is exactly what I look for in albums. I enjoy the rappers who can tell a story with deep meaning. I also did not find tracks like coffee and cigarettes to be cringeworthy, it's a nice relaxing break from Vic's serious tones through the majority of the album, this track happens to be one of my favorites to listen to on early morning car rides. I also don't mind Vic's vocals. Sure they aren't the best but I never mind that in rap, that's not what rap is about. He reminds me of Eminem where the chorus and his vocals r simply warm ups or fillers for the upcoming deep meaningful verse and for that I applaud him.
I agree with this, Wings is honestly one of my favourite songs ever
anthony this is super random but what do you think of Big L?
Anyone else notice that Anthony fantano and Lonzo 🅱️all are basically the same person 😂
Look nothing alike
every review is a 6/tano
Fantano I hate how hard but fair you are. Like you seem to give credit where credit is due, but at the same time it feels like you don't really account for human emotion. Vic is being super raw and honest on this album, and sonically I think the instrumentals more often than not fit the emotions he is trying to express. That makes it hit hard for people like me who are experiencing a lot of the complex emotions that he is struggling with on the album. So in that regard he created a great piece of art, that I'm sure will stand up for a lot of people over the years.
Just listened to it. In fact it's the first time I've given him a proper listen. Love this album. He's got great technical skills and the beats are real nice.
Review Blkswn by Smino
everybody like this comment
He had it in a yuno review video
feat. Weezer
Give 'The Upper Hand' by 'Alltta' a listen - it came out a few months back but they have an interesting sound. love the vids
You should look into The Dear Hunter
They're incredibly artful in my opinion
This dude Vic is the most underrated in the game for real.
Even with vic threatening to kill besthany teethindagametano he still give it a 2 ,slaughtergangthany raptano
Kids These Days were dope af. I'm just not feeling Vic's solo. It's not horrible, I'm just forever holding a grudge for the breakup of KTD, they were so innovative and interesting. Vic isn't as intriguing by himself.
Homewrecker is about an ex running in on him sleeping with a new girl. Not his girlfriend running in on him and catching him cheating, they weren't together .
What is the highest rating you've given an album Anthony? I wonder if you may be a bit desensitized because you review so much music, but I don't know. I feel like if someone gets a high rating from you than it must be legit which is a good thing ha ha
GhostWolfHipHop He gave "To Pimp a Butterfly" by Kendrick Lamar a 10/10.
The Real Legend okay well that's a dam good album ha ha
GhostWolfHipHop facts lol at first when I first started watching him I thought he didn't get certain things in hip hop but just honestly looking back on all the albums he reviews that are rap albums he really be hitting and telling the truth
Off the top of my head he gave a tribe called quest last album a 9, so it goes by ratking an 8, and death grips the money store a 10, but thats all i can think of for hiphop
Javier Meza Anthony is good, but I don't understand how he only gave Future's DS2 a 6... That album did exactly what it was supposed to in hip-hop and more! What I mean by that is that album was made for the clubs and partying and it's still played in clubs all the time and multiple songs from it too not just a couple, so that album did what it was supposed to and it was full of hard hitting songs, so why only a 6? Especially when someone like Lil Pump can get a 7. Also the very druggy, hazy, smokey and dark atmosphere of DS2 was excellent which he even said in his DS2 review, but still only a 6...
Mother in law? Is the Melon married?
Nas yeah he's married to Danny Brown
Nas yes his wife is a durian.
Just thought i would suggest a K-Rino album review, i would start with any of the big 7 albums he dropped last year. I love you, remind me of the aids guy that raised the prices i like him too he's cool at heart
Anthony what band is on your shirt
Real homies post this exact comment, dip. Create a thread for this review on the fantanoforever subreddit, dip. Listen to the full album and come up with their own opinions then come back to the video so they can appreciate Anthony's opinions and compare it to their own. Then eventually dip and create melon memes.
Zomby why put so much effort into this one man's reviews
his music been corny tho lol. its a lot like logic or hospins. just force fed raps that are trying to be woke
You should make a video talking about crowd killing in the Hardcore/Beatdown scene. That's a pretty hot topic right now.
review TMRW FRVR by Luke Christopher, it dropped 7 days ago and i'm interested to hear your opinion
Vic is dope! Underrated IMO
Blank Face L
Blank Face L
Blank Face L
Blank Face your disgusting
Blank Face L
I kinda liked coffee & cigarettes tbh
Paul van Maldegem me too, but didn't care for rollin like a stoner at all
This Album was pretty good, anybody who says it's whack either is hating or just don't know hip hop,
Fair score IMO. I actually thought he was going to rate it lower.
Review the new Balam Acab EP
Vic Mensa sounds intelligent to people who dropped out of Elementary school.
The thing is that when he took that seat at complex he thought he was travis scott and could say the fuck he wants to say and people would fuck with him
I wish Vic would combine the bars, polish, and flare of his new work with the unique sound of Innanetape. To me that'd be peak Vic Mensa and much less generic than this new direction he's gone in
DJ Akademiks didn't die for this
Yeah I think that score and review is good, I've been watching Vic for a while so some things that are cringy for others don't really register for me, but some hooks and choruses on this do get annoying and kind of cringeworthy so I can understand. I think if he gets away from that he can really shine.
Have you checked out "mint coat killa lp"? I like Jarren Benton and think you should give him a shot.
Literally just checked to see if you did this one yet.... I'm shook....
